Chapter 297 Warmth and Affection
Chapter 297 Warmth and Affection
Arthur's crisp scent lingered around her nose. Aria's cheeks felt slightly warm, but she couldn't bear to push away this warmth.
"Aria."
Arthur lowered his head, his chin gently resting on top of her hair, his voice deep and tender. "It feels so good to spend the New Year with you like this."
This was a scene he had longed for through countless days and nights. Now that it had come true, it actually made him feel like he was dreaming.
Aria leaned against him and softly responded, "Mm."
When she first returned to the country, she never imagined she would one day be with Arthur like this.
Back then, she didn't have these kinds of feelings for Arthur. In her eyes, Arthur was just part of her past.
But over this past year, Arthur had won her over with his own way.
Watching this man give so much for her sake left her feeling amazed.
In her view, these were things Arthur would never do.
But Arthur proved through his actions that nothing was impossible!
He really would do things he'd never done before, all for her. She could feel his affection.
It was precisely because of this that she was willing to take another chance, to try again.
The two embraced, quietly waiting for midnight to arrive.
Outside the window, the fireworks grew denser and more brilliant.
Inside the room, warm light glowed softly, and their embracing figures looked peaceful and beautiful.
Finally, the midnight bells slowly rang out.
"Dong!"
The New Year had arrived.
Arthur gently lifted Aria's face, his eyes full of deep affection and tenderness as he looked at her.
"Happy New Year, Aria."
Aria smiled softly in response, "Happy New Year."
As their eyes met, he slowly lowered his head and kissed her lips.
Aria's eyes widened slightly, then slowly closed. She raised her hand and gently wrapped it around his neck, returning his kiss.
Outside the window, the fireworks gradually faded. Inside the room, their two figures intertwined.
Aria's breathing gradually softened, her fingers unconsciously clutching his clothes.
Arthur's palm gently covered her waist, warm and tender in his movements.
Through the thin fabric, his hand gently caressed her delicate skin, making Aria's body tremble slightly as she nestled closer into his arms.
Before they knew it, they had fallen onto the soft bed.
Arthur propped himself up beside her, gazing at her with eyes so full of affection it seemed it would overflow, mixed with undisguised tenderness and possessiveness.
His breath brushed past her ear, the warm air making her earlobe tingle.
"Can I?"
He murmured in a low voice, hoarse and magnetic, the veins on his neck standing out, filled with intense restraint.
Aria looked up at him, her face slightly flushed, and after a moment of silence, gently nodded.
Seeing her agreement, a dark gleam flashed through Arthur's eyes.
He lowered his head again to kiss her, and an intimate atmosphere spread through the room. Everything fell naturally into place.
Outside the window, the night was gentle. Inside the room, their feelings ran deep...
After a night of passion, the warmth still lingered.
When Arthur woke up and felt the soft warmth in his arms, memories of last night came flooding back.
Their first intimate union after years apart—they had both taken time to adjust to each other, only stopping when dawn was about to break.
Recalling the beauty of last night, Arthur couldn't help but smile. He turned slightly to the side, his gaze falling on the face of the person in his arms, his eyes filled with warmth.
He lowered his head and gently kissed her hair twice, his eyes full of tenderness.
Aria was awakened by his subtle movements.
The moment her consciousness returned, she clearly felt the warm chest pressed tightly against her back.
Her body's memory was more honest than her heart, and the sensations came flooding back instantly.
Recalling last night's passion now made her face flush.
As soon as she moved, Arthur sensed it and said softly, "You're awake?"
Aria's body stiffened slightly, and she responded quietly, "Mm."
Arthur chuckled softly, tightening his arm around her, and asked gently, "Are you still uncomfortable?"
As he spoke, he reached out to rub her waist, his movements very gentle.
His breath sprayed on the back of her ear. Aria felt her ear tips tingling and couldn't help but tremble slightly.
The scenes from last night uncontrollably flooded her mind again. After a long moment, she mumbled two words, "I'm okay."
Arthur's heart melted at the sight. He lowered his head and gently kissed her reddened ear tip. "Sleep a bit more. I'll go check on Jasper."
Aria didn't insist on getting up with him and nodded. He was clearly the one who did all the work, so why was he also the one full of energy?
Arthur kissed Aria's face twice more before leaving the room.
Since they had fooled around quite late last night, it was already past ten when he woke up. Jasper was already awake and sitting obediently in the living room playing with building blocks. He only turned around when he heard the sound. When he saw Arthur coming out of Aria's room, his eyes widened. "Arthur? Why are you coming out of Mom's room?"
"I was checking if Mom was awake. What do you want to eat?"
Arthur didn't mention that he had spent the night here. Some things were better discussed with Aria's agreement first.
"I already had milk and bread just now."
Since Arthur had previously taught him to eat something by himself if Aria wasn't awake yet, he had obediently not disturbed Aria earlier.
Arthur glanced toward the dining area and nodded, reaching out to ruffle his hair. "Do you want to eat anything else?"
Jasper shook his head.
Seeing this, Arthur didn't say more, just told Jasper to keep playing.
"I'm going back for a bit. I'll come over later."
He didn't have his toiletries here, so naturally he needed to go back to freshen up.
But after today, he'd need to bring his toiletries over.
Jasper didn't think much of it and nodded. "Okay."
After Arthur's figure disappeared from view, something seemed to occur to him—why had Arthur just come over in his pajamas?
But this question only lasted a moment before he went back to playing with his building blocks.
Aria didn't wake up from this nap until noon. When she woke up, her body still ached terribly. She couldn't help but curse Arthur in her mind—next time she definitely wouldn't let him go wild like that again.
She checked the time, got up to wash up, then changed clothes and walked out.
As soon as she stepped out, she heard voices coming from the kitchen. She walked over to look and saw Arthur and Jasper talking. Arthur was cooking while Jasper was helping out.
Watching this scene, her expression softened, and she walked over.
Arthur happened to turn around and see her. He smiled. "You're awake? Perfect timing—lunch is ready. Let's eat."
Hearing Arthur's words, Jasper also turned to look. When he saw Aria, he smiled and spoke to her. "Mom, you're awake! Come eat! I helped Arthur make today's lunch!"
