Chapter 293 Emotions Heat Up

Chapter 293 Emotions Heat Up

After they confessed their feelings to each other by the river that day, the distance between them instantly closed.

Arthur originally wanted to shamelessly move into Aria's place, but before he could even make his move, Aria had already anticipated it and directly rejected him.

Aria's reason was simple.

"Don't you have a room in your own house?"

"I live alone, I'm a bit scared."

When it came to lying through his teeth, Arthur was truly the master.

Aria didn't know how he could shamelessly say he was scared.

Aria gave him a cold glance. If he said that, no one would believe it.

"Scared?"

She raised her eyebrows slightly, her words carrying a teasing tone. "You've been living like that all this time, haven't you? When were you ever scared?"

Hearing this, Arthur lowered his eyes slightly, showing no intention of turning to leave.

He leaned forward slightly, moving closer to her. "That's different."

He lowered his voice. "It's easy to go from simple to luxurious, but hard to go from luxurious back to simple."

Arthur's meaningful words made Aria's heart tremble slightly. She turned her head away, avoiding his burning gaze, but her ears quietly turned a light shade of red.

Arthur took in her embarrassment completely, the smile in his eyes growing deeper.

Arthur didn't push her too hard. These things needed to progress gradually.

"I'll go check if Jasper's asleep."

Hearing Arthur's words, Aria breathed a slight sigh of relief and nodded. "Okay, he should be asleep. I'm going to wash up."

"Alright, you go ahead. I'm here."

With that, Arthur went into Jasper's room, and Aria focused on washing up.

When Aria came out after her shower, only a few dim lights remained in the living room. Arthur was sitting on the sofa looking at his phone. Hearing the sound, he looked over and saw Aria drying her hair. He naturally got up and walked over, calmly taking the towel from her hand and helping her dry her hair.

This was something Arthur had never done before.

For a moment, Aria didn't know how to react.

Did he used to help Sophie like this too?

Arthur lowered his eyes slightly, keenly sensing her change in mood. His expression tightened, and he stopped what he was doing, pulling Aria to sit down on the sofa and asking with concern, "What's wrong?"

Aria didn't expect Arthur to ask her this. She was stunned for a moment and instinctively denied it.

"Nothing."

How could Arthur not see through Aria's thoughts? He reached out and took her hand, saying slowly, "Aria, I hope we can be honest with each other. If you have something on your mind, just tell me directly. I'm afraid I might not notice, that I might overlook things. I don't want us to be separated again because of misunderstandings. I can't bear that outcome."

"From now on, I'll be honest with you. Whatever you want to know, just ask me, and I'll tell you. I hope you can do the same. Can you?"

Arthur knew that it was those misunderstandings that had led to their previous situation, and he didn't want that to happen again.

In relationships, only when both parties are honest can things slowly get better.

Hearing Arthur's words, Aria was stunned. She never thought there would be a day when Arthur would say these things to her.

Honestly, Arthur's words struck a chord with her.

Be honest?

They should be honest!

Before, they had too many misunderstandings between them, which led to that previous situation. If she wanted to avoid this, they naturally needed to communicate!

Aria took a deep breath and said slowly, "Did you used to do this for Sophie too?"

Arthur was stunned for a moment, instantly understanding what Aria meant. He shook his head in denial. "No, you're the first and the only one. I never did such things for her!"

Arthur's feelings for Sophie before were complicated. She was mostly the one chasing him, and he had never done such things for her.

While Arthur was saying this, Aria kept watching his expression. Seeing that he didn't seem to be lying, a strange feeling welled up in her heart. She didn't say anything more, just nodded.

"Do you have any other questions now?"

Meeting Arthur's eyes, Aria gently shook her head. "No more."

Arthur didn't ask further. He picked up the towel again and continued drying her long hair.

When it was almost dry, Arthur put down the towel, got up to get the hairdryer nearby, and helped her blow-dry her hair. His movements were somewhat clumsy, which made Aria believe that Arthur really hadn't done this before.

Because of this position, Aria was almost half-embraced in Arthur's arms.

In the small living room, only the low hum of the hairdryer remained, along with their intertwined breathing.

Aria could clearly feel the warmth of his fingertips running through her hair.

Before long, her hair was dry.

Arthur turned off the hairdryer and casually placed it on the coffee table nearby, his fingertips still retaining the soft touch of her hair. He didn't immediately withdraw his hand. Instead, he leaned forward slightly, slowly moving closer.

The distance between them was extremely close, their noses almost touching, their breaths tightly intertwined.

Aria instinctively looked up and met his deep, profound eyes.

The affection in those eyes was almost overflowing, completely enveloping her.

Arthur's fingertips gently lifted, caressing the skin of her cheek.

"Aria."

He lowered his voice, his breath warm and husky, carrying emotions he'd held back for so long.

Aria didn't respond, just looked at him.

He tilted his head slightly, slowly leaning in, his warm lips gently brushing the corner of her mouth, his movements gentle and cherishing.

Seeing that she didn't resist and even relaxed her shoulders slightly, he finally let go of all restraint, gently cupping the back of her neck and deepening the kiss.

All of Aria's tension completely dissipated. She tilted her head back slightly, her hand unconsciously lifting to lightly grasp the fabric of his shirt.

After who knows how long, he finally slowed his movements, gently pecking her lips.

Aria's breathing had long since lost its rhythm, her face quietly tinged with a light blush.

Arthur pulled back slightly, looking down steadily at the person in his arms.

His Adam's apple bobbed slightly as he suppressed the heat surging in his heart, calling her name in a hoarse voice, "Aria."

He could finally hold her in his arms again!

He had waited for this day for too long.

Aria looked up at his deep eyes and, as if possessed, lifted her head to nuzzle the corner of his lips.

The light touch instantly disrupted Arthur's barely calmed breathing.

He let out a low groan, leaning down to capture her lips again. This kiss was fierce, as if he wanted to devour her completely. Aria could only tilt her head back passively, accepting everything he brought.

The temperature between them suddenly rose. Arthur's hands remained restrained, only placed on her back, holding her tightly.

Even though they had already done everything they should have done before, this time, he didn't want to be so hasty with her...
