Chapter 287 Backing Up
Chapter 287 Backing Up
"If I hadn't come over, I wouldn't have known you people were being so aggressive."
Arthur let out a cold snort, then turned his gaze to Aria, his tone softening, "You okay?"
Aria nodded at his words, "Yeah, I just got here too."
What Aria meant was that she hadn't suffered much mistreatment.
After looking Aria over, Arthur shifted his attention to the client.
"If I remember correctly, the project was already wrapping up a few days ago. Your side signed off on it too. We finished according to your requirements, so why is there suddenly a problem now? Are you deliberately looking for trouble?"
Arthur, seasoned in business dealings, questioned the client with a cold, hard attitude.
Hearing Arthur's interrogation, the client felt his scalp tighten, but remembering that person's instructions, he could only continue, "Mr. Grant, that's not fair. How can you say we're deliberately looking for trouble? The inspection from above didn't pass, so naturally I need to ask Ms. Hall about it, right?"
"Oh? If you're just asking, what are all these reporters doing here?"
Arthur's gaze swept over the reporters, his expression somewhere between a smile and a sneer.
At these words, the scene instantly fell quiet.
The reporters who had been called over on short notice exchanged glances and instinctively shrank back.
The client's face went pale, his eyes evasive, "Mr. Grant, what you're saying... there are no reporters here, just friends from the industry who came to check on the project's progress."
"Is that so?"
Arthur took a step forward, his tone icy, "Industry friends? Then I guess I misunderstood. I thought you'd invited people specifically to wait here and take photos."
As soon as Arthur finished speaking, those reporters sheepishly put away their cameras.
He paused, his words pointed.
"Seems I was overthinking. Good thing you weren't put up to this by anyone."
Cold sweat broke out on the client's forehead, his heart already in chaos.
Arthur clearly knew everything, even seeing right through the fact that he'd been manipulated by someone.
Arthur didn't look at him anymore, turning instead to the supervisor, "You're the person in charge on site, right?"
The supervisor's expression changed, forcing himself to stay calm, "Yes."
Arthur's smile didn't reach his eyes, "Why don't you tell me directly how much you were paid off?"
The supervisor hadn't expected Arthur to be so direct and couldn't find words for a moment.
"Don't dare say?"
Arthur laughed coldly, "That's fine. William."
William immediately stepped forward, handing over his phone. On the screen were clear transfer records, chat screenshots, and surveillance footage.
"Don't show me, let those industry friends see. That'll be clearer."
Arthur directly indicated for William to show the phone to one of the reporters.
William nodded in acknowledgment and handed the evidence directly to the lead reporter.
When that reporter saw what was on William's phone, his pupils suddenly contracted, looking excited and wanting to take photos.
But he also seemed afraid of something.
Seeing this, Arthur's lips curved up, and he said in front of the client, "Go ahead and take photos if you want."
With Arthur's permission, those reporters couldn't hold back anymore and quickly pulled out their cameras to take pictures.
After all, this was solid evidence.
Every piece of evidence pointed directly to someone manipulating things behind the scenes, trying to frame Serenity Blooms Studio.
They'd been invited today to dig up news, but now they were getting gossip about the client instead. Talk about exciting...
The client's face turned deathly pale. Unable to hold on any longer, he quickly said, "Mr. Grant, why do you have to be so aggressive?"
Arthur just laughed coldly, "I'm being aggressive? When you were being aggressive earlier, why didn't you say you were being aggressive? What? This thing is only allowed for you to do? Not allowed for me to do?"
Arthur paused, "Besides, I'm not being aggressive. I'm just presenting evidence."
The client representative and the supervisor exchanged glances, clearly at a loss about the current situation.
This had completely exceeded their expectations. What should they do now?
Watching their expressions, Arthur continued, "It's fine, you don't have to say anything. Anyway, I've already given the evidence to your industry friends. Soon, the whole industry will know what you've done..."
The supervisor's legs immediately went weak, "Mr. Grant, I just had a moment of confusion..."
"Confusion?"
Arthur's eyes were cold as ice, his tone carrying a hint of mockery, "Real confusion or fake confusion? I'm sure you know in your heart!"
He took a step forward, his presence so oppressive that the client's legs went weak, and he could only instinctively step back, but was blocked by people behind him with nowhere to retreat.
"Taking bribes, deliberately causing trouble here, twisting the truth—you wanted to destroy Serenity Blooms Studio, right?"
Arthur's words were crystal clear, pointed, "The person who paid you off, their last name is Baldwin, isn't it?"
The implication in these words couldn't be more obvious. Everyone present understood, but no one dared speak the name out loud.
The supervisor was so scared his legs went weak, nearly collapsing to the ground.
Arthur's tone was calm but carried a sense of pressure, "Do you think this deal was worth it?"
The two kept their heads down, not daring to breathe heavily, unable to say a word.
Arthur withdrew his gaze, turning to everyone present, his voice steady and powerful, "Serenity Blooms Studio's floral arrangements have an excellent reputation in the industry. Today's incident was someone hiding behind the scenes maliciously instigating and deliberately framing, with the purpose of destroying her hard work."
He turned to look at Aria, his eyes instantly shedding their coldness, leaving only tenderness and concern, "Don't be afraid. I'm here."
Aria looked at his determined profile, her eyes slightly warming, and gently nodded.
Arthur looked back at the client, his tone without a trace of warmth, "Now, I'll give you two choices. One is to apologize obediently and confess everything you've done."
Arthur paused before continuing, "The other is to go to jail. Choose for yourself."
What kind of two choices were these!
This was clearly a single-choice question!
The client's face turned deathly pale. Not daring to hesitate for a moment, he immediately bowed deeply to Aria, "Ms. Hall, I'm sorry! I was wrong. I shouldn't have been manipulated into deliberately causing trouble and framing you!"
The supervisor also apologized, confessing everything he'd done in detail.
Only then did Arthur look at the reporter friends, saying in a deep voice, "I ask all you industry friends to report this truthfully."
The reporters didn't dare say no, all agreeing one after another. Some had already started drafting articles to publish the news.
Seeing this, Arthur's eyes deepened. He looked at William and instructed in a low voice, "Remember to give them the complete project handover later and have them sign it."
Now that the project was basically complete, signing the handover at this moment meant that Serenity Blooms Studio's responsibilities were finished. Whatever happened next wouldn't concern them.
"Yes."
