Chapter 282 Project Issues
Chapter 282 Project Issues
The living room fell silent for a moment.
Aria looked up and met Arthur's earnest gaze.
His eyes held sincerity, along with a hint of barely noticeable nervousness.
She was quiet for a moment, then said softly, "Okay."
Arthur's eyes instantly lit up, joy almost spilling over. "Thank you, Aria."
This agreement came from her heart. As for the reason, she didn't want to think too deeply about it.
The days slipped peacefully toward the end of the year. Aria's health gradually improved, and the flower shop was running smoothly.
Arthur was also handling year-end projects at the company, much busier than before.
But perhaps because of Aria's promise, he looked forward to this winter more than ever.
One afternoon, Aria was organizing flower materials when her phone suddenly rang. It was Chase.
She paused slightly before answering.
"Ms. Hall, sorry to bother you."
Chase's voice sounded anxious. "That city floral landscape project I asked you to do—there's a problem with the on-site construction. I'm afraid I'll have to trouble you to come take a look."
Aria frowned slightly.
Several months ago, Chase had invited her to collaborate on a municipal floral project. It was quite large-scale, and she had personally finalized the design. The follow-up coordination was handed over to her shop staff.
She hadn't expected problems to arise so close to the end of the year.
"Alright, I understand. I'll head over now."
She agreed.
After hanging up, Arthur happened to come by the flower shop. Seeing her concerned expression, he asked, "What's wrong?"
"Chase's project—the floral project from before has run into problems. I need to go check the site."
Aria explained briefly.
Arthur immediately said, "I'll go with you."
He had seen this project that Aria took on later. The problem shouldn't be too big.
Who would have thought something would go wrong at a time like this.
Aria knew about Arthur and Chase's relationship and shook her head in refusal. "No need, I can go myself. I'll be back soon."
Arthur looked at her and didn't insist further. "Drive carefully. Call me if anything comes up."
"Mm."
Aria changed her coat and drove to the project site with Liv.
The project was located in the city's new district, near the river. The winter wind was strong, stinging people's faces.
The construction site was busy with workers coming and going. Several floral installations were obviously crude, far from the refined elegance in her design drawings. Some flower arrangements were even messy and chaotic, looking cheap and careless.
Chase's assistant had been waiting at the site. Seeing her arrive, he quickly approached with an apologetic expression. "Ms. Hall, I'm really sorry to make you come all this way."
Aria walked up to one installation, frowning deeply. She looked at Liv. "The design clearly required imported flowers. Why were they replaced with ordinary artificial flowers? The proportions are wrong too. The whole style is completely messed up."
Hearing this question, Liv, who had come with her, broke out in a cold sweat. "I'm not sure either. I did everything according to your instructions."
Aria's expression turned cold. "Didn't I tell you to supervise on-site? You didn't come?"
Hearing this, Liv's face changed, stammering without saying anything.
Seeing Liv's expression, Aria's face turned cold. She understood immediately—he hadn't followed her instructions, which was why this happened.
Now that the problem had occurred, she could only think of a solution first.
"I'm really sorry. I'll have people make improvements right away. As for the costs, I'll handle them."
The assistant continued, "Ms. Hall, the client is demanding corrections within three days, otherwise they'll terminate the contract and we'll have to pay compensation."
Aria looked around the entire site, her expression darkening.
This wasn't just a project—it was her reputation.
If this matter wasn't resolved properly, her flower shop's reputation would hit rock bottom.
This had to be resolved quickly.
"I understand."
She looked at Liv and said calmly, "Call over the construction supervisor and material suppliers. I'll redefine the correction plan. I'll have the drawings ready tonight, start construction tomorrow, and it must be completed within three days."
Liv quickly responded, "Yes! I'll arrange it right away!"
Aria stood in the open construction site, took out her tablet to pull up the original design, carefully compared it with the site, and began marking modification details.
This was a tough battle, but she had no choice.
She had to win.
Her phone vibrated. It was a message from Arthur: "Done yet? I'll come pick you up."
Aria looked at the screen and replied, "Not yet. There's a problem with the project. It won't be that quick. No need to pick me up."
Aria had just finished explaining the correction requirements to Liv when her phone lit up.
It was a location from Arthur, showing he had already arrived at the construction site entrance.
Her heart tightened. Just as she was about to reply, she saw that familiar figure walking in quickly against the cold wind.
"Why did you still come?"
She went up to meet him, her tone carrying some helplessness.
Arthur glanced at the messy site, frowning slightly. He reached out to move her toward a more sheltered spot. "I'm worried about you being here alone."
Aria nodded gently, then turned to the pale-faced Liv and said sternly, "I've marked the correction plan. Materials, dimensions, flower varieties—follow the original design exactly. All the mistakes must be torn down tonight, and when the new flower materials arrive tomorrow morning, start reworking immediately."
"I don't want to see any more problems after this."
Liv quickly nodded in agreement. "Yes! Aria, I'll definitely supervise closely!"
"I'm leaving now. I'm leaving this to you."
After giving instructions, Aria walked out with Arthur.
Sitting in the warm car, Aria finally relaxed, leaning back against the seat tiredly.
Arthur started the car and asked softly, "What exactly happened?"
Aria rubbed her temples wearily and slowly began, "The design and materials were all clearly specified. I required imported flowers, but they were all replaced with cheap artificial flowers, and all the proportions were wrong."
"I clearly told Liv to supervise the entire process, but he didn't take it seriously at all."
Such an oversight was completely unacceptable!
At this point, she paused, her frown deepening. "But I feel something's off. Liv has worked with me for quite a while. He's always been reliable. Being this careless this time is completely unlike him."
Liv was the most dependable among her shop employees, yet this problem occurred. She really couldn't understand it!
Arthur's fingers tightened on the steering wheel, his eyes darkening. "Unlike him? Then someone's pulling strings behind the scenes?"
Aria froze, saying nothing.
She hadn't considered this possibility, but now...
It seemed she had to think about it...
Arthur's voice turned colder. "This isn't that simple. I'll have someone investigate Liv, and also check the material flow and everyone who handled it this time."
Aria looked up at him. "Won't that be too much trouble? Maybe he just made a careless mistake..."
"One careless mistake can destroy your entire flower shop's reputation."
Arthur glanced at her, his tone serious. "This matter must be taken seriously."
Aria's heart stirred at his words. She didn't object further and nodded. "Alright."
