Why now?
Why now?
Alex had come to accept that the most obvious ways were not acceptable in this instance. The safest thing to do would be to wait this out. But it was not the smart thing. No the smart thing to do would be to confront this head on. But that was too risky. He did not want Sam or the others to get hurt because of him.
Which is what had lead him to this decision. He had left Sam with Tracy promising to be back soon. He would not be. He still planned to go back of course. Right now though he had snuck back into the foyer. He had heard footsteps on the stairs and he was hoping to get answers from whoever had dared to sneak into the manor at a time like this.
Pov Change
Unfortunately Julia did not make it far. Her mother's form, hazy as it was, flickered before her. She should have been concerned. She should have tried to talk to to her. This was her mother after all. Instead she merely turned to run, however unproductive that thought had been.
How was it in a house full of people her mother would happen upon her? How unlucky was that? She just wished she would disappear or fade out. Whatever happens to spirits. She was beginning to get too old for this.
Pov Change
Eliza had just so happened to arrive in the foyer after all the excitement. She saw the shattered vase that had probably fallen off of one of the tables. The bookcase in front of the door would be a pain to move. And even worse she did not see any signs of the poor kids that had fallen prey to Vivian.
This was going to be a long night she decided as she crept into the hallway to her right. Hopefully these kids were somewhat calm when she found them. Scared teens were problematic to deal with. She should know. She had been in their shoes once.

"We have to find the others," Courtney had already started walking through the halls. She had thrown sneaking around out the window unfortunately. Not that Luke blamed her.
"We will. But first and foremost we need to be careful," Luke caught up with her hoping to slow her in some way. They would not last long if they just went into this without thinking. That would just be insane. Courtney had to understand that right?
Wrong. She merely shrugged him off her resolve unwavering as she pushed the nearest door open. "This might seem like a bad idea but we won't get anything done if we just wait around for her to do what she pleases."
"Oh and what's your plan? Salt? Iron? Ghost hunting tactics won't work. This is real life," Luke tried to reason with her. He was pretty sure his words were falling on deaf ears at this point though.
Pov Change
"Are you sure you're fine?" Sam repeated for the umpteenth time. What? He was concerned. Vivian did not pull her punches. If anything she just didn't care about keeping them alive to do her bidding anymore.
"I'm fine. It's just a headache," Tracy was trying to reassure him. Of course the concern on his face didn't lessen but he did drop subject for now at least. Which gave her the space to breath as the headed back to get their things. It would be best if they didn't lose any of it just yet. It might still be useful even if Vivian had lost her marbles. Who knows? She figured if they ever got out this story could actually see the light of day.
