Julia Truly Is Loyal

Julia Truly Is Loyal
Courtney and the others began sneaking back down the hall headed for the foyer. Courtney hoped the door was still unlocked. They had been silent not wanting to draw the new visitors or worse, Vivian. Alex had assured them he had not seen her so far. They were safe... for now. She did not know how long they would have that luxury though. Vivian was unpredictable. And they did not even know who the intruders were.

Alex had told them he thought one might be Julia. After all she had been helping Vivian this entire time. Surely she would have the key. Of course that made sense. But Courtney did not think she was alone. So who would be crazy enough to enter right into an abandoned mansion? Except for ghost hunters of course. Though Courtney thought people like that were crazy. Who wouldn't, right? Well there were those who believed in the supernatural. Courtney had been a skeptic before now. She just liked a good scare every now and then.

Pov Change

Eliza was currently searching through the second floor. It would make sense if the kids chose to keep moving. She just hoped that Vivian hadn't done away with them yet. The thought made her stomach twist.

Julia was being oddly complacent now. Was she helping? No. But what did Eliza expect. Julia was probably not going to help period but at least she had gotten her in here right? So that was definitely a good thing.

Pov Change

Downstairs in the foyer Courtney had just pulled open the front door when it shut back, making her stumble forward. The lock shut with a final click. There was a light breeze in the room. How? They didn't know. Alex had already backed towards the closest door, his eyes flitting around the room. He had this sinking feeling of dread running through him.

Of course it did not take long to find out why. The bookcase across the room went flying across the room barely missing Courtney who staggered to the left just in time. Tracy screamed as she was suddenly tossed into the next room, the door shutting harshly behind her. Alex spotted Vivian right at the top of the stares, her glare apparent as she slowly walked down towards them.

Courtney, noticing how Alex had suddenly paled, looked in the direction he was but she could not see anything. Still she grabbed Luke pulling him along with her. They had barely moved when suddenly a table pushed them through the nearest doorway.

Then it hit Alex what Vivian was trying to do. She was splitting them up. That was the number one mistake in any horror movie. Okay so he had seen a few. Enough to know the likeliest end to this scenario. He felt Sam tug on his hand and it was enough to make him realize he had been frozen. It took him a second for shock to wear off but once he did he immediately followed him through the nearest door hoping to get away as soon as possible.

Pov Change

Eliza and Julia had heard the scream from downstairs. Eliza was the only one to actually move to go see what was going on. Julia had taken Eliza's panic to slip away. She headed down the hall towards the servant stairs not wanting to make her presence known to her mother.

She was not going to stay here. Not when it was this dangerous. She had given her mother a wide birth since she died. That decision had not changed in the slightest. If anything her mother's recent decline in stability had fortified it. She was merely the errand girl. Nothing more. Nothing less.
