Chapter 46 Drugged
When Xander came out of his room and nearly fell to the floor, Toby saw him. He was near the elevator, talking to his wife. As soon as he saw Xander, he approached him. However, when Xander banged on Ariadne's door he stopped in his tracks. He silently observed him without saying anything.
Inside the room, Ariadne was lying on her bed, trying to sleep. After arriving at his room, Mark went to the bathroom and threw up three or four times. Only then did he feel better. Ariadne stayed in his room while he changed and freshened up. After taking a pill, he fell asleep, and Ariadne returned to her room. She, too, freshened up and changed into comfortable clothes. She didn't call home as she was exhausted and it was already late. She went straight to bed.
However, she hadn't yet fallen asleep when her doorbell rang, followed by a loud banging on the door. She sat up abruptly, perplexed. She assumed it was Mark as she had instructed him to come to her room if he needed anything. She hurriedly got out of bed and approached the door. When she opened the door, she frowned at the person in front of her. Xander stood there, his shirt disheveled and wet, while his face drenched in sweat. He appeared to be in a mess.
"Xander!" Ariadne was completely surprised by his condition.
However, before she could say anything else, Xander barged into the room and closed the door behind him.
"What happened?" Ariadne asked as she stepped back.
Xander said nothing as he stared at her with lustful eyes. Ariadne became terrified at his gaze. When she took a closer look at him, she realized that he was completely drunk and couldn't even stand up straight.
"What are you doing here?" she asked in a trembling voice.
However, Xander didn't hear anything as he approached her and grabbed her face with his hands, pecking her lips. Ariadne froze in place at the unexpected kiss. Xander didnt stop there. He pushed her backwards until her legs touched the bed. He was impatient and acted quickly, without any sense. The only thing he understood was the fire of lust within him. Ariadne couldn't handle the force and collapsed on the bed, with him on top of her. He lifted his upper body by putting his hands on either side of her head and caged her beneath him, preventing her from escaping.
"You're looking beautiful." he finally said, looking at her face.
Ariadne's face turned pale with fear. She forgot to move. Xander gently stroked her cheek with one hand. Ariadne shuddered under his touch and pushed him, but he didn't move. He was too heavy and strong for her.
"Don't fight me, Angel. I need you." Xander said as he pecked her lips again. His breathing was heavy.
"Angel?" Ariadne muttered under her breath.
Her face turned red with rage as the night from five years ago flashed back into her mind.
"Oh.. so you're mistaking me for your Angel.... again?" she sighed and smiled bitterly, shaking her head.
"But I'm not your Angel." She said, gritting her teeth, and kicked him hard between his legs.
Xander groaned in pain.
Ariadne didn't waste any time and pushed him hard, taking advantage of his pain. He collapsed to the floor beside the bed with a thud. He clutched his groin and curled up in pain.
Ariadne immediately got out of bed and grabbed her phone before running to the bathroom. She stood at the bathroom door, alert. The plan was to enter the bathroom and lock herself inside if Xander tried to approach her. She wouldn't take any chances as the man wasn't in his right mind and could even rape her. She hurriedly unlocked her phone, thinking about who she should call. She was about to call room service, but she remembered she had Jose's phone number. She called Jose and kept looking towards the bed to observe Xander's activities. He was on the other side of the bed, but she would see him if he stood up from the floor. However, he remained lying on the floor.
"Hello, Miss Ariadne." Jose greeted her as he answered the call.
"Where are you?" Ariadne went right to the point.
"I'm at the party. Why are you asking?" Jose appeared confused.
"Your Boss is drunk and has barged into my room. Can you please come and get him."
"What? He's in your room?" came Jose's shocked voice.
"Yes. Please come quickly." Ariadne requested, as she grew tensed with each passing second.
"Oh, shit." Jose muttered. "Miss Ariadne, don't worry. I'm coming." Jose said before hanging up the call.
Ariadne sighed and clutched the phone tightly in her hand, waiting for Jose. Each second seemed like an hour.
After a while, her doorbell rang, causing her to relax a little. She took a quick glance at the bed before dashing to the door and opening it. However, she saw Toby instead of Jose.
"Hi, Aria." he smiled.
"Jose sent you, right?" Ariadne asked.
"Umm... yes. I was nearby, so I arrived first. He's coming as well." he explained.
"Okay, please come inside." Ariadne moved aside and Toby entered the room before closing the door behind him. Ariadne remained silent, knowing that it was for privacy. Toby looked around the room until he spotted Xander on the floor.
"What's he doing on the floor? Is he unconscious?" he frowned in concern.
"I don't know. He tried to force himself on me, so I..." Ariadne didn't finish her sentence, feeling guilty.
Toby snickered. "You did the right thing. He deserves it.. Anyway." He said before approaching Xander.
He inspected him and pulled him up into a sitting position. Xander was half awake.
"It's.. hot, very hot." He murmured incoherently.
Toby moved his ear closer to listen. He frowned as he realized what he had said. Supporting him with his hands, he raised him to his feet.
"Sorry for the trouble. I've got him. You can now sleep peacefully." Toby said, looking at Ariadne.
Ariadne nodded, standing at a distance from them.
"Can you open the door and see if the corridor is empty?" Toby asked.
Xander and Ariadne were well-known figures. Naturally, if someone saw Xander leaving her room in that condition, rumors would spread quickly. It would only ruin their reputation.
"Oh, sure." Ariadne rushed to the door and opened it.
She poked her head out of the room and inspected the corridor; no one was there.
"You can go, it's clear." she turned back to face the two men and stepped aside.
Without wasting any time, Toby led Xander out of the room and into the opposite room. Ariadne stood at her door, looking at them. Toby nodded at her before closing the door to Xander's room. Ariadne stared at the closed door for a moment as she sighed and entered her room. She checked the room once before going into the bathroom and washing her face. She took some time to completely relax before leaving the bathroom. She adjusted her bed and went to get some water. While walking to the bed, she stepped into something. She bent down and noticed a phone. When she picked up the phone and checked it, she realized it was Xander's. She assumed the phone had fallen when he collapsed on the floor. She would need to return it. She approached and opened the door. However, she paused when she saw Crystal and Jose, outside Xander's room. Jose had his back to her.
"The doctor is on his way. You're not needed here. Please try to understand that you can't do anything to help him, even if you stay. You should return to your room. It's already late. He will meet with you tomorrow." Jose appeared desperate as he explained to Crystal.
Crystal noticed Ariadne and gave her a death glare before returning her attention to Jose.
"Ok fine. I'll come in the morning." She said before storming off to the elevator. She looked furious.
'They're not staying in the same room.' Ariadne mused in her mind.
"Miss, Ariadne. Are you all right?" Jose's voice brought her back from her thoughts.
"Yes I'm fine. Ummm... he dropped his phone in my room. Can you give it to him?" Ariadne extended her hand with the phone, which Jose took.
"Sure. Thank you for this. And we're extremely sorry that you had to go through this. Mr. Blake has been drugged and isn't in his right mind."
"What? He has been drugged?" Ariadne was shocked.
"Yes Miss. Please don't hold his actions against him."
"It's okay. Take care of him. I should sleep now."
"Sure. You're totally safe now." Jose assured her.
Ariadne nodded before entering her room and shut the door behind her.
...
"I gave him an injection. He'll not wake up until the morning." Toby and Jose listened to the doctor while looking at Xander's sleeping form in the bed.
It was some time after the doctor had arrived and checked on him. Xander was given a high dose of aphrodisiac and lost all sense. They would have to look into who was responsible.
"Ok. Thank you for coming, Doctor. Let me escort you." Jose led the doctor out of the room, while Toby stayed with Xander.
"Why did you let him go into Miss Ariadne's room?" Jose asked as he returned and closed the door.
"What?" Toby feigned ignorance.
"Don't pretend to be innocent. You were here. You must have seen him leave his room and bang on miss Ariadne's door." Jose said sharply, approaching the bed.
"Yes. I did see him." Toby sighed.
"Then why didn't you stop him?"
"Why should I stop him. He went there on his own."
Jose glared at him. "Do you have any idea what would have happened?"
Toby didn't respond, instead raising his brow. Jose sighed with frustration.
"He's getting engaged to Miss Crystal next week. What would have happened if he had slept with another woman before that?"
After Ariadne called him for help, Jose told Toby to handle the situation untill he arrived. Crystal was with him, so he delayed to avoid misunderstandings.
"She's not the other woman... And he does the right things when he's drunk." Toby chuckled, causing Jose to shake his head.
"I know you don't like Miss Crystal. I don't, either. But this's not the way to help them... And it's their matter. They should handle it. We should only focus on our duty." Jose tried to make him understanding.
Despite being the youngest, Jose was the most mature of them.
"Yeah, no need to lecture me. I'm older than you and Xander's friend as well." Toby brought a cigarette and lit it.
"You're ..." Jose shook his head. "Fortunately, nothing bad happened. I'll stay with him. You can go to sleep."
"Of course I'll. I really need to sleep now. It was a long day." Toby said before leaving the room.
