Chapter Thirty Two
*The next morning*
Once me and Alexander were showered and dressed again, he took my hand, asked if I was ready and we headed into the club. I could hear the voices before I saw anyone, they were just laughing and joking around and I knew they knew he was here with me. They would have seen Alex’s bike outside, much like Ron would have last night. I still didn’t know why he had just left, but I knew as soon as I saw his face when he saw me and Alex together, holding hands, that there was no way he had left because he had accepted this.
The room fell silent as soon as they noticed us and I saw one or two of them look over at Ron. He just stared at us. I looked at Alex but he didn’t look at me. Instead, he just squeezed my hand and we walked over to the bar.
‘Morning brother.’ Tommy was the first to greet us, ‘Darlin.' I smiled at him and said good morning while he and Alex ‘guy hugged,' followed by the rest of them wishing us a good morning too—well, all except Ron, of course.
Harry came over and hugged me but when he pulled away, he left his arm hanging on my shoulder and Alex let go of my hand and went to get himself a coffee, asking if I wanted one.
‘Yes please, can you make it sweet?’ He smiled.
‘Sure’.
It was just really uncomfortable and awkward. I looked at my dad, refusing to speak first, but it was clear he wasn’t going to talk either, so... silence it was. The guys could feel the tension, no doubt and tried to ignore it by starting a conversation about random shit.
‘So, what are your plans for today then Harl?’ Jackson asked with his usual charming smile. I just shrugged.
‘Not a bloody clue. Might go out for a walk or something’.
‘Ah, well, you’re lucky, lovely weather in PTV today’. I smiled.
‘It's California, it's always lovely weather’. He chuckled and nodded, agreeing. Alexander came back and passed me over my hot, fresh cup of coffee and the smell alone was lush. I thanked him and took a small sip.
Why is it that the first sip of the day touches your soul like no other? I smiled at my own thought and carried on the conversation, asking the guys what they had planned today.
‘Club business’. Ron spoke up for the first time since we arrived. I looked over at him, and once again, the room fell silent. ‘Things you don't need to know about.’ He looked at me and folded his arms as if waiting.
‘Ok, well, I’ll go and leave you to it then?’
‘Good idea’. He didn’t speak to me again after that. He just turned around and walked off into their ‘private’ room. I could feel everyone’s eyes on me.
‘I’m sorry’. Alexander whispered. I just shook my head and smiled sadly at him. I wanted to kiss him more than anything but I knew if I did, it would just cause an argument. I went to leave but stopped. ‘What's up?’
‘Nothing just’ I trailed off. You know what, fuck this!
I turned around and stormed right into the room where Ron was sitting and folded my arms.
‘What?’ He asked bluntly, clearly not caring about the answer.
‘You know what, You're my dad, sure, but you don’t have control over who I date. If I want to be with Alexander, I will be, you can’t stop me and if you can’t accept that then... don't be in my life!' I didn’t raise my voice but I think I got my point across. He just stared at me, not an ounce of emotion on his face.
Turning back around, I walked right over to Alex and pulled him down for a kiss. It was only quick, but I did it because I wanted to. He smiled down at me, and I smiled back before leaving them to whatever 'club business' they had to do.
I hope my words sink in for Ron, and if they don't... it is what it is.
I walked out but heard someone follow. When I turned, I expected to see Alexander, but it wasn’t him, it was Harry.
‘Hey, what’s up?’ He passed me a piece of paper that had a number on it. ‘What's this for?’
‘It's Sarah’s number. She said to give her a ring if you ever want to talk about the shit you’re going through, He wants to be friends’. I couldn’t help but smile.
‘That’s actually really sweet’. He smiled back and patted my shoulder before walking off, back inside. I waited for him and everyone else to vanish out of eye sight and sat down at the picnic table.
I debated it for a few seconds before thinking "What the hell!" and pulling out my phone to text Sarah
