Chapter 65

Chapter 65

Levi asked me if I was upset about him suppressing the trending topics, and whether I wanted to make our relationship public.

I told him I didn't want to right now. I hoped that one day he would make that decision willingly, without any pressure.

I said it had been six years, and I was used to it. If he truly cared about me, there would be a right time for it.

I said it would be a lie to claim I didn't care about the status, but right now, I just wanted everyone in the family to be safe and sound.

I knew that with Levi's abilities, he would protect us all well. I just wanted him to completely understand his own feelings.

These past few days, I've been staying at home, not going out.

Nola told me to focus on my designs at home, and she would handle everything at the company just like before.

On one hand, Levi wanted me to rest, and on the other hand, he thought staying home would keep me from being bothered.

To keep me from getting bored, Faye volunteered to stay home and keep me company. I guessed she probably just didn't want to go to work - she'd complained several times about how boring it was being a secretary.

This morning, not long after Levi left, Faye and I were arranging flowers in the living room. She said flower arranging could improve one's mood and help me calm down.

"Blair, I talked to Celestia on the phone. She says she has good food every day. She made me want to go there too."

"What's there to envy? Just say what you want and have them buy it."

Faye giggled, "You're the best, Blair. You're such a good sister-in-law."

I smiled. Even though she was almost eighteen, when she acted childish, she was like an eight-year-old.

Suddenly, we heard a commotion in the yard.

Faye jumped up and ran to the window to look. "Blair, she's here. Oh my god, why is she here?"

"Who?"

"Don't hold me back, I need to see that bitch, everyone get out of my way!"

"Mom, stop it, let's go home. Look what you're doing!"

Indigo ran out of the kitchen. "Mrs. Morgan, it's the Greers. Should I go stop them? She looks furious, and she brought people. They've been hitting our staff."

The flower stem in my hand suddenly snapped. My heart started racing. Arabella had been released so quickly, and now she was coming for me?

"Blair, this doesn't look good. Should you hide? She brought people with her. Levi said no one would dare come, but if we'd listened to me and arranged for more security, they wouldn't have gotten in."

Faye was a bit scared of Arabella. Last time, when the two of them fought, Arabella was incredibly strong.

"It's okay, I'll go stop her. You guys go upstairs."

Indigo took off her apron, straightened her clothes, and went out.

As soon as she got through the door, Arabella pushed her right back in.

"Mom, don't do this, let's go home, okay?" Jessa was crying and begging her.

Arabella slammed the door shut and immediately locked it. She twisted the key, pulled it out, and put it in her pocket.

"This is bad, Blair. She locked the door."

Jessa banged on the window. "Mom, please stop!"

Arabella glared at her fiercely. "You useless thing, he doesn't want you anymore, what good are you? I would have starved to death relying on you!"

It seemed Arabella already knew about Levi and Jessa's situation. She must have suddenly felt Jessa was useless, so she'd lost it.

"Blair, you go upstairs first, call my brother."

Faye stood in front of me. She and Indigo both positioned themselves between Arabella and me.

"You two move aside. I need to talk to her. If we can talk it out, fine. If not, I'm taking her life today!"

With that, Arabella pulled a knife from her bag...

Indigo was shocked and stepped back several times.

"Mrs. Morgan, please go upstairs."

"Think you can run?" Arabella walked forward a few steps. "Don't you understand what I'm saying?"

She stabbed the knife through the air a few times, making Faye close her eyes repeatedly.

Even though there were three of us, she had a knife, and we had no way to deal with her. If we moved, she would start slashing wildly.

"Fine, we'll talk. Just don't hurt them. My life isn't worth much, but you just want money, right? We can work something out."

I had to stall her, find a way to let them contact someone - whether it was Levi or the police, we needed to find an opportunity.

Arabella smiled smugly. "I'll say this, you little bitch are pretty smart. Come here, let's sit down and talk."

I slowly approached her. Arabella pressed the knife against my neck, forcing me to sit down with her.

Outside, Jessa was going crazy with worry. She wanted Arabella to stop, but Arabella's eyes warned her to keep quiet.

Jessa didn't dare say anything more. With the knife at my neck, if she provoked Arabella, she might just kill me right there.

Even though she hated me, she didn't want Arabella to become a murderer.

"If I ask for too much, you probably can't get it all at once. Ten million - you should have that." Arabella demanded ten million right off the bat.

I smiled bitterly. "You're really giving me too much credit. How could I come up with that much money all at once?"

"Don't lie to me. Are you going to give it or not?"

The blade touched my skin. I was too scared to move.

I couldn't provoke her anymore, or I really would die.

"Yes, yes, yes. Mrs. Morgan, I'll go get the cards from your drawer. I'll give her everything. There's probably thirty million there. Saving your life is what matters." Indigo deliberately tricked her. I knew she was just buying time to contact the outside world.

"Smart of you. Hurry up!"

Indigo walked up the stairs, trembling all over. "Okay, okay, I'll hurry."

Faye saw me in danger and pulled out her phone. "You old witch, don't touch my sister-in-law, or I'll expose your affair!"

Arabella's hand softened for a moment, but quickly tensed up again.

"You followed me?"

"If you don't want people to know, don't do it. As long as you guarantee Blair is safe, I can delete it. Otherwise, I'll ruin your reputation."

Faye held up her phone, her finger hovering over the send button.

Arabella saw the video playing on the phone showing her inappropriate behavior with a young man, and she completely lost it. She hadn't expected there to be hard evidence of her affair.

"Levi, my mom has lost control. I can't stop her, I..."

Levi was back?

Indigo had just gone upstairs - how did he get back so fast?

"You're playing tricks on me!"

Arabella's pupils dilated. Her eyes looked terrifying, as if she wanted to take everyone down with her.

Indigo came back downstairs and ran to the kitchen. Faye approached with her phone to threaten Arabella, while Indigo took the opportunity to grab a kitchen knife.

"Mrs. Greer, I suggest you let Mrs. Morgan go, or you won't make it out of here alive either!" Indigo approached her with the knife raised.

At that moment, Levi ordered a locksmith to open the door, and the police arrived as well.

"Mom, be reasonable. You just got out. Please don't do something stupid."

Arabella had just been released today and came to hurt me. My heart was in my throat. If she wanted to fight me to the death, I was probably done for...

"Everyone, back off!"

Arabella struggled desperately, pulling me backward with her, but the place was already surrounded. There was no escape for her.

I saw a police officer by the window. He slowly climbed in and was behind Arabella, moving forward slowly.

Jessa didn't dare make a sound either. She was afraid that if she spoke up to help her mother, it would turn into a very brutal scene.
