Chapter 532

Chapter 532

Why are Eric's people so keen on keeping the helicopter here?

James couldn't figure it out, but his instinct told him that Eric's purpose this time wasn't to kill him, but to use him to draw out something.

When Eric heard James's question, he suddenly lowered his head and laughed. The laugh carried mockery, yet also a hint of envy.

After laughing, he slowly raised his head, eyes bloodshot, teeth clenched. "James, why are you so damn smart?"

His questioning voice trembled with a vicious edge.

James frowned slightly. He understood he'd guessed right, but had also enraged Eric.

His feet shifted slightly as James prepared to dodge at any moment.

"Every single time, every time!" Eric roared, the gun in his hand pressing closer.

James took a deep breath and leaned his head back following the movement of Eric's hand. "Eric, calm down."

His composure only made Eric's eyes redder.

His teeth ground together audibly.

Seeing this, James couldn't help but swallow.

Brady's mouth hung open even wider. He didn't dare move an inch, afraid that one movement might set Eric off.

In an unnoticed corner, the unconscious Tony gradually regained consciousness.

"Calm down what! You sent them a message, didn't you! You did this, didn't you!"

Eric was on the verge of completing his mission when it failed in an instant, and his mindset was somewhat collapsing.

James pressed his lips together, frowning.

The Eric across from him seemed unable to listen to reason anymore.

He slowly raised both hands in a gesture of surrender, though his gaze lingered on Eric's gun-holding arm for a moment.

"Mr. Adams, I'm not even sure who's in the helicopter."

"Maybe the person you're waiting for hasn't arrived yet?"

It was rare for James to be this careful in coaxing someone, especially a man.

He found it absurd himself.

But facing this situation, if he didn't calm Eric down, he could only wait for death.

Although James had solid combat skills, he wasn't as powerful as his master. Trying to disarm someone bare-handed at such close range, especially with a firearm, was pure fantasy.

Fortunately, he and Eric were old acquaintances and could at least talk.

Moreover, based on his understanding of Eric, he probably wouldn't actually pull the trigger.

James had planned to wait for Eric to calm down before taking the gun, but unexpectedly, after hearing his words, the mockery at Eric's lips only deepened. "James, you think I'm a child?"

He pressed forward, grabbing James by the collar, getting almost face-to-face with him, gripping the black pistol tightly with a terrifying sound.

James said nothing, his breathing slowing.

"You think you're so smart, so capable, right? Think I won't shoot?" Eric smiled through clenched teeth, his index finger resting on the trigger.

James looked down. After seeing his movement clearly, he felt both a headache and irritation. He wanted to dodge but was constrained by the dark gun barrel and the hand gripping his collar.

Just as the tension between them reached its breaking point, a figure suddenly rushed out from the side. Before anyone could react, it crashed into Eric's side!

The sudden violent impact to his side, even affecting the area below his ribs, immediately made Eric cry out in pain, and he quickly released his grip to clutch the painful spot.

"Damn it!" After recovering a bit, he immediately looked up to curse.

But when he looked up, he froze.

Eric had thought the person who hit him was Brady, but unexpectedly it was that middle-aged man who had seemed nearly dead.

His mouth hung open, his gaze scanning Tony's head repeatedly.

Tony had actually been beaten quite severely. The side of his head was swollen high, most likely with internal bleeding.

But even so, he still propped up his swaying body and used his own head to deliver a fierce blow to Eric!

Even James hadn't expected Tony to make a move at this moment.

But he didn't think much about it. He immediately kicked away Eric's gun, quickly picked it up, and in an instant, pinned Eric down with one hand while pressing the gun against the back of his head!

"Tell your people not to move!" James's eyes turned cold, veins bulging in his hands from the force.

"James!" Eric, being restrained, sounded even more hoarse.

In the distant sky, military helicopters were rapidly flying toward the cruise ship.

The roar was so loud it immediately drew everyone's attention on the ship.

The people at the other end of the deck spotted those helicopters first. Their expressions changed, and most scattered like birds and beasts. Only one person ran quickly toward Eric and the others.

"Mr. Adams! Mr. Adams!"

When he got closer, he realized his boss wasn't the one restraining someone, but rather the one being restrained.

Instantly, he didn't know what to say.

James immediately looked over. "Speak!"

His expression at this moment was terrifyingly calm, his entire being radiating the decisiveness of someone in power.

The newcomer only hesitated for a moment before immediately raising the machine gun in his hands and aiming it at James. "Let him go!"

James narrowed his eyes, pressing the gun closer. "Then let's see who's faster!"

As the two were at a standoff, Eric, pinned down by James, struggled to turn his head and look at the newcomer. "Speak!"

He seemed to be having trouble breathing, his voice hoarse and short of breath.

Hearing this, James shifted his knee and hand, easing the pressure on him slightly.

"Military and police helicopters are coming our way. They'll be here in about a minute." The newcomer still didn't lower his gun, his voice steady, seemingly unafraid of his identity being exposed.

Hearing this, James's eyes lit up. He immediately looked at Eric, and the previously murky speculation in his mind now became clear as if the clouds had parted.

Taking advantage of his distraction, Eric immediately elbowed James away.

Freed, Eric coughed violently several times, then cleanly took the pistol from James's hand, removed the magazine, and tossed it to his man. "Go, quickly!"

James wasn't about to let that happen and immediately headed toward that person.

But soon, he was tightly held back by Eric!

"Mr. Russell, spare people when you can."

James gritted his teeth. How could he not understand everything now?

The confrontation between those people just now was all about trying to keep Marvin's people here. And now the police and military helicopters arriving were clearly prepared for Marvin's people!

If Marvin's people hadn't run fast, they would have been caught by these rapidly arriving police as terrorists!

By then, all the people with guns on this cruise ship would become heroes who protected important guests!

"Eric, your tactics are really dirty!"
