Chapter 347 Madness
Chapter 347 Madness
Like a dream, like an illusion.
Mia crouched by the coffee table, not daring to move or even blink, afraid that if she blinked, James would disappear like a bubble.
Her whole body seemed frozen in place as she sat there, staring blankly.
She watches as the figure locked eyes with her, then took a few wide strides and kneeling down on one knee in front of her.
He raised his hand to gently wipe the tears from her face, his eyes full of heartache. "Honey, don't cry."
Seeing her face covered in tears, his heart shattered into pieces.
The coolness of his fingertips ignited a sense of reality.
But Mia still didn't dare believe it. She stared at James in a daze, raising both hands extremely slowly.
One hand clutched his hand tightly hand as he was wiping her tears, while the other gently grazed his face, making careful contact. With tear-blurred eyes, she muttered in a low voice, "James, is it you? Are you really back? I'm not dreaming, am I?!"
In the past two weeks, this scene appeared in her dreams more than once.
James came back, to which she was overjoyed.
The more surprised and delighted she was in that dream, the more disappointed and sorrowful she felt the moment she woke up and opened her eyes to realize it was just a dream.
That feeling was too painful, too suffocating.
She was immensely afraid she was just hallucinating in the extreme desire to have James back.
"It's me, Honey! It's really me. And no, you aren't dreaming. I'm back!"
James' eyes turned completely red, with his heart aching in the verge of suffocation.
Looking at Mia, his eyes were full of guilt.
He said he wouldn't make her sad or upset again.
But in the end, he still made her so heartbroken because of him.
In return, James held Mia's hand and moved it all the way to his heart, pressing it there, using his violently beating heart to let her feel his reality.
"James..."
Mia felt it, and the moment she opened her mouth, tears streamed down her face again.
It was James!
James really came back!
"Are you hurt?"
She thought of the explosion.
That scene was deeply burned into her mind.
For the past two weeks, she hadn't dared to recall that moment.
She was truly afraid!
Afraid something had happened to him, afraid of really losing him!
"No, I'm fine. I jumped out before the car exploded. I wasn't hurt, just got knocked out unconsciously."
"The current was too strong, and I was swept away. Fortunately, I was lucky enough to be rescued by a fisherman!"
"When Carl and the search team went looking, I was still unconscious, and the fisherman who saved me had already gone back out to the sea. The person left to care for me was deaf and mute, so they missed each other."
"As soon as I woke up, I rushed back at once."
"Honey, I made you sad and upset again, I'm sor—"
Before he could finish, Mia sealed his lips with a kiss.
As she pressed her lips against James' while having a close-up view of his face, more tears streamed down her face.
She gently caressed his lips, while choking up as she said, "No need to apologize anymore. Let's not mention anything from the past. James, I don't care about anything else, as you're okay. "
Tears flowed in between their pressed lips. Though her tears were bitter, Mia felt sweetness.
His return was more important than anything else !
She had nearly lost him!
How dangerous it had been that moment...
Mia cupped James's equally thin and haggard handsome face, taking the initiative to part his teeth.
She found his tongue and sucked on it, deepening the kiss.
Her whole body leaned towards him, releasing all her weight on him. Consequently, she knocked down James onto the carpet.
Riding on his waist, their lips never parted.
She wanted to make love with him.
Nothing could ever make reality feel more than this, being together and kissing him.
Mia kissed James wildly and passionately.
Her hands became even more eager as she stripped off his clothes.
She got too urgent.
Hastily moving, she couldn't take the time to take off his shirt and couldn't wait to undo his belt.
Her hand spotted the zipper and directly pulled it open.
A moment later—
Mia's body trembled lightly from discomfort, breaking out in a sweat from the pain.
James looked at Mia in his arms, who had hurt herself in her urgency.
His heart melted.
His eyes turned crimson as his large hands gripped her waist, no longer letting her act recklessly.
Tender kisses fell on her forehead, staying there as he called out affectionately, "Honey."
His lips moved from her forehead to her moist eyelids, falling down as he continued to call her affectionately, "Honey."
Each kiss was accompanied by his remarks of affection, "Honey..."
Tenderly kissing her.
Soothing her unease.
He was telling her that he had really come back.
That she wasn't dreaming.
Sitting in James's arms, Mia kept her eyes wide open the whole time, except when he kissed her eyelids.
She was gazing at him, feeling his kisses.
More tears poured out from Mia's eyes.
James didn't tell her not to cry anymore, letting her release her inner emotions through tears.
He patiently kissed away each of her tears.
Until her tears stopped.
Foreheads pressed together, and their eyes met.
James looked at Mia, still affectionately calling her over and over, "Honey."
Each call followed by a kiss on her lips.
Mia cupped his face, returning a deep kiss. "Husband."
In that later, he indicated that he wanted to hear her call him husband.
That one word — "husband" — made James' body violently tremble.
His eyes grew even a darker shade of crimson.
But he held back the moisture in his eyes.
For a moment, his emotions got extremely complex—sour, bitter, and sweet, all kinds of feelings.
Finally they condensed together and turned into happiness.
His heart was filled to the brim with a sense of happiness.
James couldn't control his emotions. One hand gripped the back of her head, deepening the kiss.
Their lips seemed glued together, and once pressed together, neither wanted to part.
His large hands easily lifted her waist, picking Mia up from the carpet.
In a few wide strides, they both fell onto the chaise lounge of the sofa.
Passion was completely ignited.
After a long while, it finally stopped.
When everything had calmed down, the part of the sofa where they had just been was a complete mess. Neither of them paid it any attention.
James found a clean spot and they lay there, embracing one another.
Not willing to separate.
Even during their most passionate time together, Mia had never clung onto James like this.
She lay in his arms, her hands and feet wrapped around him like vines.
Though exhausted in body and mind, she just didn't want to close her eyes.
James was the same.
They just looked at each other like this.
While they were looking at one another, their lips pressed together again.
At first they simply just wanted to kiss each other.
Yet, the kiss passionately kept deepening. In just an eye contact, both of their lips were entangled and the two were in sync again.
Unlike just before, after she had adjusted, they had both gone crazy.
Meeting each other, like a violent storm sweeping over the other, wishing they could devour each other completely.
This time, like a gentle breeze and light rain, they stretched each other's sensations to the limit.
After another long while, the light rain finally stopped.
There wasn't a clean spot left on the sofa to lie on.
Mia clung to James's arms, not wanting to move.
James carried her to the bathroom to clean up.
In this place where they had lived together for nearly four years.
She had returned to how things were at the beginning.
In front of him, she became a girl unable to take care of herself.
Hanging on him, letting him help wash her.
It was as if their roles had reversed.
When he helped her wash before, he would get improper during halfway through, often making the bath pointless.
But today, James helped Mia wash.
He washed seriously, but instead it was her who was restless.
From time to time she would lean over and kiss him, wherever she could reach.
James knew that Mia in his arms was immensely frightened this time.
Even though he already came back.
Even though they just used the sofa in the most direct way to let her realize reality.
Still, her heart remained uneasy.
While washing, he responded to her kisses.
Yet, the bath became pointless half-way through as he responded to each of her kisses.
When the two emerged from the bathroom again, it was over an hour later.
James carried Mia out of the bathroom and into the bedroom.
As he arranged the bedding, she hugged his waist from behind.
Her face pressed against his back, getting extremely clingly.
All that until he had finally finished making the bed, to which both of them laid down on it.
Without James needing to hold her, Mia automatically nestled into his arms.
Once again like a vine, her limbs tightly wrapped around him.
Having gone through this incident, Mia clearly realized how importance James is to her.
She also understood one thing.
She could continue to be a woman who is economically and intellectually independent, capable of standing on her own outside.
All while being the little woman who depended on him every time she comes home, being with the very man she loves.
These things didn't ignite conflict at all.
She didn't need to be so extreme.
"Honey, goodnight."
James dimmed the lights and lowered his head to kiss Mia's lips.
"Goodnight, husband."
Mia lifted her head in his arms as before, responding to his kiss.
After saying good night to each other, they closed their eyes and slept in each other's arms.
Holding James, having just expended so much energy, the exhausted Mia quickly fell into a deep sleep.
Hearing her breath, while smelling her fragrance, James slowly opened his eyes.
He looked down at her quietly for a long time, unconsciously tightening his arms around her.
To be able to hold her in his arms again felt so good.
