Chapter 36 A Close Shave
As he said those words, his hands moved downward and one wrapped around my waist, making my body shudder. Heat rose through me, and I could already feel myself getting wet down there.
“R-Rudy… We can’t do this, please~” I said in a low voice, my body betraying my words at this point. All my defenses had already been broken, and all those years of abstaining from sex had finally caught up to me. From just a small touch from Rudy, it felt like a dam had burst open between my lower lips.
Suddenly, Rudy bit his lips and tightened his grip around my waist. Then he brought his face close to mine, so close that I could feel his minty breath brushing directly against my face.
“Why?… Why? I want to devour you now and then. You have no idea how much I love you, Layla! You don’t know. Why won’t you see me as a man? I want to make you my woman. I don’t care what people say. We are not related by blood, after all,” Rudy said seriously, and I could see the pain in his eyes.
He didn’t realize that all my defenses were already shattered, but I was glad things didn’t go any further than this. Rudy seemed deeply in love with me and wanted me to accept him as my man, rather than simply taking me without having my heart. Honestly, this was unexpected of Rudy. But…
“I…I’m sorry, Rudy. Even if we’re not related by blood, I see you as my brother. And to be honest, if I didn’t see you as my brother, I would’ve had a baby for you a long time ago,” I uttered softly, avoiding his piercing gaze.
Rudy let out a loud sigh at my response and slowly loosened his grip around my waist as he stepped back.
“Layla, you have a problem. And that problem is that you give too much of a fuck about what people say. It’s time you realize the position and authority you hold, it’s not something you should care about others’ opinions. As for me, I won’t stop chasing you until you accept me as your man. But first things first, let’s focus on the storm brewing ahead,” Rudy said as he stood up, adjusted his clothes, and pulled out a cigarette, lighting it.
I was confused at how he could keep a straight face after what just happened while I was sitting there with my face burning red and my underwear soaked. If he had pushed things just a little further, I might have been moaning beneath him.
Fuck. Is my mind really that perverted, or am I just too horny?
Shaking off the dirty thoughts, I adjusted my crumpled clothes and poured myself some wine.
“You’re not going to say anything, Layla? Regardless, I’m sure no one would make a better wife and mother than you,” Rudy said, exhaling a cloud of smoke.
I nearly spat out my drink but managed to swallow it, placing the cup back on the table.
“Rudy, just give up already. Didn’t you propose to a girl a few months back? Besides, who told you I’d even want kids?” I replied.
“Haa~ You’re talking about Mary. Well, we broke up. Honestly, it was my fault. I realized I wasn’t the right person for her since I couldn’t give her enough attention. That’s when I figured out what I truly wanted,” Rudy said as he turned to face me directly. “What I want is you, Layla. And even if you don’t want children, that’s fine. As long as I have you, I’ll be happy. We can always adopt,” he added.
“…”
My ears burned red as he said those words so calmly, his expression stoic and composed. I stayed silent, and Rudy chuckled, probably because of how flustered I looked.
Noticing that he was starting to tease me, I called Anna back inside. Answering my call, Anna returned with a straight face and sat beside me.
“That’s all I have to say, Sister. The duel is set for three days from now. You should try training before then. I wouldn’t want you to underestimate this person,” Rudy said, his tone returning to normal once Anna entered.
“You make him sound dangerous, Rudy,” I said, noticing the emphasis in his voice.
“Because he is. If I hadn’t witnessed it myself, I wouldn’t be looking at him this way. Ability-wise, I could kill him in a head-on fight. But the problem is that he’s cunning, always one step ahead. I hate to admit it, but fighting him without a trump card is just plain stupid,” Rudy said with a sigh.
“Alright then. Since we’re done here, we’ll get going,” I said as I stood up. Anna followed suit.
“Alright. I’ll still be here until midnight,” Rudy replied.
“And why are you staying? Fooling around with some chicks?” I asked, the thought suddenly popping into my head.
“Fufu, you suddenly seem to care, Sister. Don’t tell me you’re jealous. If you’re that jealous, why don’t you stay back and spend some quality time with me instead?” Rudy giggled mischievously.
My face burned red again as I turned on my heel and walked straight out of the hotel, unable to handle his teasing any longer.
