I walk in a vaporous forest with my bow and arrow strapped behind my back as I search the forest evidently for something I found on the day I arrived to South land. The leaves of the trees were turning grey and looking all stunted, it shows that some nature weren t able to survive the past winter.
Hunter has his focus on the trees but the soft whimper that has just come across his ear is something he couldn t miss. I begin to run along the trail I suspect the voice came from.
The thing is I already know what I m searching for; I had once found it when I wasn t even searching for it. I found her unclothed, lying on the thorns and bristles, crawling up unto her and holding her down.
An arrow stuck in her right arm and her eyes were fairly alive.
Somehow, it s more than just as an imagination as I bend and take a closer look at the wound before pulling out the arrow out and watching her grunt in pain. I can hear her heart pound as she sweating profusely and she begged for water with her little strength. I did as she asked and I ran along after granting her my shirt to cover herself but then it hit me!
Hunter then begins to have a wider view of what happened before and he can literally see himself in that scene again, was it is when he turned back still in the fog covered surrounding that she stood up without being seen, limping slowly and hiding inside the walls of a giant tree.
The bead has come off her hand when she was pulling off the thorns that encoded her. After seeing the ordeal happen right in front of my eyes, I go back to the scene and take out the bead now deciding to follow her lead. And just then when it feels like I m getting the puzzles together...
I wake up seeing total darkness and the first thing I did is to search my hand if the head is still intact and it was. What sought of a dream is that? I was envisioning my reality but it was almost as if it was showing me what I did not find back in the forest.
It was about this woman, what is this bead about and who is she?
The question ponders in my head and I rise up from the large bed leaving the dark room in my white transparent sleeved shirt and a fairly noble pant. I stride in the dark corridors with little light available to show the next available step he is to take. The night is quiet and dark, everyone is tucked in their beds already—but I am having nightmares only that they aren t so scary.
I am not used to such tranquillity, if it weren't the sounds of men training at the beach with swords clanging together or an ambush; there were surely noises that transpired during the war. Whatever it is, this place is too quiet for me. I dropped unto the sofa near the warming fireplace and that was when I took into sight pictures of my father hanging around the oak shelf filled with scripts, scrolls, documents and pictures.
Not able to sleep? I turned around to see my mother who had a dashing smile on her face.
"Of course not." I replied removing a large framed picture of my father from the wall.
"He looks just like you." She says collecting the picture and dusting the large picture.
How have you been mother? How has the Rothwander house been treating you all this years? Tell me the truth. I ask, watching her return the picture back to the wall.
"It does not matter son, she says." You are back from your voyage already. I have nothing to worry or fear about and as of now I should give this to you.
She removes the chain on her neck and used it to open a drawer were she removed a scroll that had a royal seal on it. I collect it, reading its contents and I assume it was talking about plots of land. I look up to her in astonishment and the need of answers scribbled on my forehead.
"Your father gave that to us when you were just three years old; he gave to us the twenty three plots of lands that he won from the barbarian war as of that time. I didn't summon this earlier because I wasn't strong enough but now that I have you." I have eternity's unspoken assurance.
"He always said you were a star among stars, his pride."
She said and her eyes water. The reason you were taken to the war front was because Alice was trying to kill you, my child....her family was holding power as of that time and your father still needed their power but he didn't want to lose you.
"He secretly gave me these papers because he believed that his son was a warrior and that you would come back for your poor mother." She said bringing out a handkerchief to clear her cheeks.
"I collect the item from her and wipe her tears as she smiles in adoration."
"Do not worry." I will wipe these tears for you from now on and we will claim what is ours for sure. I assure her.
She nods collecting back the napkin.
"Go back to rest child, the night is still young." The king invited us for breakfast in the castle and I believe that would be the best time to make him aware of the property. She said and her eyes spark with vengeance.
"I understand." I told her after patting her shoulder and watching her leave. I look into the papers once again and read its contents and looked closely at the seal.
"The night is still young."
