Chapter 41 41

Chapter 41 41
“Now tell me what the good news is, I'm hella impatient,” Sheila said as soon as she saw Andrew waiting for her outside the company.
Andrew's lips stretched, a genuine smile appeared on his lips as he bowed shortly to Sheila who rolled her eyes.
Andrew knows she's already impatient and he's doing that? Good. Just good.
“Good morning…”
“Can you save that and tell me what it is?” She cut in with a soft voice, flashing Andrew an angry glare.
This wasn't the time for formalities. It should be on hold because all she wants to hear right now is the good news—the same news which made Andrew call her so early in the morning.
“We have a visitor and he's waiting for you in the guest office,” he informed curtly, still maintaining a smile.
A visitor? In the guest office?
Sheila's brows narrowed and her veins pulsated as she shot Andrew a questionable gaze, her expression a mix of confusion, anxiety and eagerness.
She sauntered forward, Andrew slowly trailing behind her as she made her way to the guest office. Her heels clicked sharply on the floor, her shoulder's stiffened against the fabric of her dress, her rich scent filling the air as she walked in sophistication, her aura benevolent and her presence commanding respect.
With a gentle ‘Whoosh’ sound, the door opened up for her and she stepped into the office, her footsteps calculated.
Her nerves tensed and a drop of sweat tricked from her collarbone down to her back as she advanced forward, heart almost palpitating.
The man who was standing beside the window, both hands tucked in his pockets turned swiftly when he sensed her presence and Sheila's feet froze in place, her lips parted in awe and bewilderment.
She snapped her head back, taking a quick glance at Andrew who was at his back, then back at the man standing before her, drop dead gorgeous.
'Drop dead gorgeous' those words sparked something in her and she pressed her lips together, her fingers curling.
The visitor was dressed neatly and smartly in a blue suit and blazer, his emerald green eyes still visible through his glasses. His dark hair adding a little touch of aura to his commanding presence, and his expensive cologne dominating the air.
Strangely, the man standing before her seemed to share some personalities with Arthur and a striking attributes/resemblance with Andrew.
They almost looked alike. What in heaven's name was happening?
“Fleur Louis here,” his rich, husky accent sliced through the stilled room, knocking Sheila out of her thoughts.
Fleur stretched his hand forward for a warm handshake and Sheila reluctantly accepted his hands.
“Sheila Grey,” She replied softly, her eyes hinting much about her confusion as they broke the shake.
Fleur flashed a smile at her once more and goosebumps appeared on Sheila's skin at the creepy, cringe smile.
Are they filming a horror scene? She wasn't comfortable and it was absurd.
Finally, Sheila cleared her throat and nudged Fleur to sit down, which he did without a protest. She itched the nape of her neck, her expression shifting.
She had expected him to speak, say a word or two since he was the reason Andrew had called her to come to the office, but Fleur kept quiet, studying her like a puzzle.
Now he has already gotten a hand on why his boss is kind of into her. Perfectly imperfect!! She's got everything.
Sheila craned her neck as the atmosphere stretched with tension, her pulse quickening.
Gosh!! She might freak out at this rate. What the hell was up with this nerdy strange dude? And why did he choose to become mute?
Wait, did he walk into her company to waste her own time? Sheila's nose flared at that thought and she decided to initiate a conversation.
“I got a call from my assistant this morning…”
“I know about everything. Can we just go straight to why I am here, huh?” He flashed her a smile and Sheila pinched herself hard.
Perfect! Just perfect!! He didn't say anything since they sat down and when she finally initiated one, he cut her off?
A few minutes ago, she had thought that the visitor was a gentleman but he just displayed an arrogant, jerky personality?
Good grief.
Sheila forced a smile, nodding slightly. “If you say so, Mr. Louis,” She said, dragging her words.
“I actually was sent by my boss…” he paused as his brows furrowed, his eyes snapping to Andrew.
“Can you tell your assistant to give us some space?” he sneered. “There’s a thing called privacy,” he grimaced, a nonchalant grin dancing on his lips.
Now, this is crazy. Andrew had called her with a quote about good news, how the heck is she tangled with this jackass?
Arthur and him might share some freaking blood. This is annoying.
Sheila smiled at Andrew, giving him a subtle sign to give them some space as per demanded by her visitor.
Andrew bowed and left, then Fleur smiled, leaning back against his seat. “I was sent by Arthur Wilson,” he said and Sheila stood, her anger shimmering just beneath the surface.
Arthur Wilson!! That freak!!
Now she understands why she had felt that the Fleur of a guy shared some personalities and blood with him—a Jerk and a jackass!
What a perfect click.
Fleur's expression still remained neutral as he watched her, Arthur's words replaying in his memory.
“I’m only letting you go to her company because you insisted, but if whatever stunt you're going to pull fails, don't bother returning back. Find a good replacement for yourself, I can't stand to look at your face,”
His warnings were clear, but however it still remained a threat. He had just chosen to do this even when Arthur had kicked against it.
Arthur had woken up in the morning still reeling over Sheila's words. When Fleur couldn't stand it all, he went on to meet him, asking that he let him prove himself once more.
It wasn't easy to convince Arthur about this, but having a mastery in this, he was able to break the ice and here he was.
Getting Sheila on her knees and accepting Arthur's proposal would be a piece of cake, definitely.
Sheila heaved slowly, closing her eyes briefly before opening them. “I don't care to know why he sent you, he kept to his words and I'm impressed.” She flashed him an angry smile and Fleur almost laughed loudly.
Is that anger he sensed in her tone? She's angry because Arthur actually maintained his words?
Dramatic!!
“Can you stop fuming and let's discuss rationally? I came here by myself, Sheila Grey. Respect,” he stated, pointing at the seat to Sheila.
Sheila scoffed, then sat down angrily.
After this discussion, she's going to roast Andrew. How could he ruin her morning like this because of one rude Fleur guy?
A heavy crime.
“I’m a busy person, Fleur Louis and it'll be a bonus to me if you don't waste much of my time,” Sheila blurted out curtly and Fleur chuckled.
“So much coming from someone whose company is at the brink of shattering,” he mused with a scoff.
Sheila's heart clenched and her fist balled as anger swirled around her, her eyes dark with hatred.
Fleur?
“Stop the bantering and tell me why you're here,” Sheila heaved with gritted teeth.
“I’m buying the stocks of those shareholders that withdrew from your company….”
“Arthur asked you to do that? Well, bravo.” She mused, her voice dripping with sarcasm and disdain.
“You’re cutely arrogant, I'm thrilled.” Fleur cackled and Sheila's head banged.
Was that a mockery?
“Fleur….”
“I’m sorry Miss Grey, I was only trying to light up the atmosphere.” Fleur quickly cut in, his tone genuine and his expression shifting to maintain professionalism.
Sheila almost rolled her eyes but she refrained herself from doing that.
“Ethan Lavoie… does the name ring a bell?” Fleur questioned, his professional accent returning.
“Haven’t heard of the name,” She simply replied.
Fleur gave a gentle nod in understanding. “He’s Arthur's cousin brother and just like you're in a messy state with your company, Arthur is in a messy state with his cousin,” he said.
“I won't like going into details about everything, but Arthur is at the verge of losing his rightful inheritance to his cousin,” he muttered softly and Sheila glanced at him.
The tough Arthur Wilson was losing his inheritance?
“And why's that?” Sheila's brows folded.
“For him to take over his father's company, it requires that he is married but sadly, he's not and he's losing that to his cousin brother who's getting married next week. It's a slap in the face to him that his cousin brother takes over his father's company because he couldn't provide a wife and prove himself capable,” Fleur muttered, heaving and Sheila leaned back.
“So he brought up the contract because he actually wants to take over his father's inheritance?” She lifted a brow as she asked and Fleur smiled.
“Yes…”
“And he felt too iconic to explain his situation to me?” She mused with a scoff, then stood, making Fleur's eyes widen in shock.
“Relay my message to your boss…” her voice dropped to a whisper and a smirk appeared.
“I don't go back on my words and for me to reconsider…” her voice clipped.
“It comes with a price,”
