Chapter 337 Liam Begins to Act

Chapter 337 Liam Begins to Act

Lila Watson's POV

I rolled my eyes and thought, who in their right mind would go out for dinner this late if it wasn't for someone special?

So, I blinked and smiled, "If I had to guess, it must be someone you really care about, right?"

Otherwise... in the middle of the night, could there be some shady stuff going on? I didn't want to think too much about it.

Suddenly, I remembered that guy in the wheelchair. He was definitely handsome and had a strong presence, but unfortunately, his lower body was paralyzed.

He could only sit in the wheelchair, being pushed around. Without it, he lost the strength and direction to walk.

I couldn't help but feel a bit sorry for him—such a person, wasn't it too pitiful?

Amelia saw me lost in thought and quickly interrupted, "It's not as complicated as you think."

I raised an eyebrow, "You wanted me to agree to you following him last time, right?"

She nodded, and I knew I wasn't wrong.

"Even if he's not your true love, he's someone you care about, isn't he?" I said softly, hitting the nail on the head.

Amelia wanted to laugh but said, "But since you refused, I won't agree to follow him either. Isn't that better?"

Her words put me in a bit of a dilemma. I was just reminiscing, not expecting her to hit the mark.

Last time, although I refused that man, I still had dinner with them out of courtesy to Dominic. During the meal, Amelia's gaze was fixed on him, and I noticed.

I poked her finger, which was like a green onion segment, with a hint of accusation. "You clearly care about him, so why argue with me? He's handsome and rich, isn't he great? Why not consider it more? Rejecting me so quickly, aren't you rejecting someone you care about?"

After saying that, I couldn't help but imagine and sighed, "His looks are really something. Even celebrities might not compare. I think he's a good catch—wealthy and handsome, a great choice."

I was getting into it, not noticing Lucas's darkening expression beside me.

Amelia glanced at him and quickly coughed, softly reminding me, "You better stop. The person next to you can't take it. What if he gets angry and you two have a fight?"

Her serious tone made me laugh. I turned and saw Lucas indeed looking upset, his eyes downcast, clearly not in a good mood.

I muttered to myself and gently patted his shoulder. "Don't worry, I still prefer you, Lucas. My Lucas. Quick to act, efficient, always protecting me, much stronger than that man in the wheelchair."

I continued with a smile, "And my Lucas is loyal to me. No one else would risk their life for me like he does. That man in the wheelchair is probably confined to it for life, nothing more."

"Look, my Lucas is so good-looking, how could he be inferior to that man? So, the person Amelia likes can't compare to the one in my heart."

After saying this, Lucas finally smiled faintly, looking much better.

He seemed to think of something and glanced at Amelia. I casually reminded her, "You should really think about it. He's a good guy, like I said. But who knows how things will go? You've only seen a glimpse. If you really care about him, why not give it a shot?"

Of course, I wouldn't agree in my heart.

Amelia lowered her head, not speaking. She knew that with her status, getting involved in certain things wasn't good.

But I knew she still remembered what was said when they met.

Her eyes gradually dimmed.

"You've got so much on your mind, why not get out more?" I suddenly said.

She couldn't help but laugh, "If only I had that freedom."

I laughed too, "Yeah, if we could do whatever we wanted, that would be the best."

Dominic Voss's POV

I was half-asleep when the sudden ringing of the phone jolted me awake, making my brow twitch.

In the middle of the night, there aren't many people who would call—and it wouldn't be good news. I reached out and answered, and an urgent voice came through:

"Liam is making a move. You need to be extra careful. Don't let him find an opening; he doesn't hold back."

My nerves instantly tightened. Liam... could he appear suddenly in the night? No, he never acts without a plan. Since someone warned me, it means he's already in action.

"Keep a close watch," I ordered coldly, my tone like ice. "If there's any movement, handle it immediately."

By "handle," I always meant one thing—erase all traces of his activities, leaving him unable to move. No mercy, no breathing room.

I hung up, my fingers still gripping the phone tightly. The air outside the night seemed to sink. Liam, if you dare to act, I'll make sure you leave no trace.

Chloe Morgan's POV

His voice was so loud that I could hear it clearly while sleeping next to him, including the content of the call.

I didn't expect Liam to act so quickly, starting in the middle of the night, which really startled me.

I got up to get a glass of water, waiting for Dominic to finish his call.

But it seemed Dominic was done.

He came over, hugging me apologetically, "Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you, but the call was urgent."

I was not that petty, so I said, "It's okay, if there's something to handle, just handle it."

But I noticed Dominic seemed to be leaving. He was already getting dressed and smiled apologetically at me, "I need to go help. Liam's big move is coming, and I'm afraid our people can't handle it, so I need to go personally."

With no lights on, I could only see his serious expression through the moonlight outside.

I hadn't seen him look like this in a long time.

I wondered if Liam would risk everything this time.

Curious about the big move, I said, "I want to go with you."

But Dominic just kissed my forehead and stopped me, "Don't go. It might be dangerous, and we don't know the situation there. I just want you to be safe and happy."

His words were so heartfelt, yet felt heavy.

I didn't know how to respond, so I just watched him leave.
