Epilogue
Raven’s POV

“Rhyland.. it’s time.”

His eyebrows furrowed as he looked over at me from the book in his hand. My hand landed on my baby bump and I blew out a breath as another hard contraction hit.

“Oh fuck.” He mumbled before darting out of the living room and towards our midwife’s chamber.

“It’s time! It’s time!” He shouted and I chuckled at his frantic state before another contraction hit me.

“It’s time!?” I heard Cassius run down the stairs and I rolled my eyes.

“Yes it’s time! Where is Mira!?” I shouted as I cried out against the pain.

“She’s coming darling! I- well I mean we’re coming!” He shouted back and I heard his footsteps rush down the hallway back towards our room. He rushed by my side and pushed my hair back away from my face as Mira my Midwife came in with gloves and a needle.

At the sight, Cassius turned deathly pale.

“I’ll... I’ll just be outside.” He mumbled as he held onto the wall to walk out of the room and I felt Rhyland’s hand entwine in mine.

“It’s really happening, this is really happening.” He sputtered while smiling down at me. His eyes were bright with joy as he stared into mine and I couldn’t be more grateful to have him by my side.

“Okay, this is for the pain. It’s going to be a quick prick and a cool sensation that runs through you but after that everything should feel tingly but nothing more.”

I took deep breath with a nod, before shutting my eyes. I wasn’t a fan of needles. Rhyland leaned down and planted a gentle kiss on my forehead.

“You got this baby, I’m right here.”

Rhyland’s POV

After many agonizing hours of watching Raven go through the most unbearable pain that I couldn’t take away, our baby was finally here.

Raven sat in the nursery rocking chair that was placed infront of her favorite window.

She glanced over at me with the biggest smile.

“Come here, look.” She said softly while pulling the blanket from around her face. I moved across the room and stood behind the rocking chair, staring down at the most beautiful creation ever.

My beautiful princess.

“Look at her eyes.” She pointed towards her eyes and as soon as she opened them again and looked up at me I saw it.

Tears swelled up in my eyes and a single one escaped the seal as it fell onto my cheek.

“She’s got my eyes.”

Purple swirled around her iris as she stared up at me and I knew in that moment that there was nothing I wanted more than to protect her and Raven with my life.

Forever and always.

A knock sounded from the door and Cassius peaked his head in quietly.

“Can I see her?” He asked with hopeful eyes and I smiled up at him with a nod, backing away to give him time to bond with his new niece.

Raven passed her to him and his face instantly lit up like a bright bulb as he gently bounced with her in his arms.

“Well hi there beautiful. I’m your uncle Cassius, but I feel like that is going to give you some trouble so you can just call me Cass.” He smiled softly down at her and moved the blanket down further.

“Ella Grace, you are beyond loved. I hope you understand that getting a boyfriend will be very difficult. Oh but if anyone mistreats you I swea-,”

“Cassius. She’s not even a week old and you’re already threatening her future boyfriends.” Raven stated and Cassius bit his lip.

“Sorry..”

She laughed and tried to stand up out of the rocker but her legs were still tired and she stumbled back a bit before I caught her.

“Hey hey, take it easy love.” I whispered and she just huffed.

“Rhyland, I’m starving. I’m going to get me some food whether I need to rest or not.” She pointed out and who was I to stand between a woman and her food?

“Do you want us to take her?” I asked Cassius and he just shook his head.

“No it’s okay, we can spend uncle and Ella time while Raven gets some food. She needs the energy anyways.”

With that, I placed my arm around Raven’s waist and walked with her out of the nursery and down the stairs.

“What are you wanting?”

She looked over at me and licked her lips.

“Some ice cream with sprinkles but also some spicy wings sounds delicious too. Maybe both.. I’m not sure I’m just hungry.” She groaned and I chuckled as we finally reached the kitchen. After placing her in a chair I grabbed some ice cream out of the freezer and began scooping it into a bowl for her.

“A little more.” She said from across the room and I smiled as I scooped some more out of the container.

I reached up into the cabinet and brought the sprinkles down that we had from her pregnancy craving an sprinkled some on top.

Walking over to her, I passed her the bowl and leaned against the table as she dove in.

“Gods you’re the best, I love you.” She mumbled with a mouth full.

“I love you too sweetheart.” I said as I leaned down and pressed my lips to her forehead. She instantly leaned into it and smiled a cute little smile with a red blush.

The sound of Ella crying broke my focus on Raven and I moved on instinct towards it but was met at the door with Cassius standing there frantically.

“She started crying I didn’t know what to do.” He said wide eyed and I grabbed the bundle of joy up into my arms. My shh’s sounded through the room as I gently began pacing and bouncing her in my arms.

“Shh shh shh, it’s okay darling, dada’s got you.” The depth of my voice rumbled though my chest and calmed her down almost immediately.

“Okay so you have to teach me that.” Cassius scratched the back of his head and I chuckled at his expressions.

I took the time to look back at Raven who was staring right back at me with the biggest smile on her face, and that same gleam in her eye that made me fall in love with her.

Then I looked down at my beautiful princess, Ella.

I wouldn’t want it any other way.
