Chapter 34

Chapter 34
Raven’s POV

As we walked to the docks I instantly spotted the enormous ship posted to them with a group of people standing on them.

“Trouble?” Rhyland asked and I noticed his entire demeanor change, he tensed his body up preparing for the worst.

I took a moment to look at their faces. In that moment I could only spot worry and dispair on all of their faces, nothing more.

“No.. I don’t think so.” I admitted and as soon as we stepped onto the dock with them they all seemed to cowar back, the child even hid behind his mother’s leg.

“We do no pose a threat, we are only seeking help from the Queen.” The eldest man was the first to speak and I stepped forward, my brows furrowed at the weariness.

“That is me, what is it that you seek?” I questioned and the mother gently began pulling the child from behind her leg.

“It’s my son.”

The little boy looked up at me with tears in his eyes but the one thing that caught my eye was the large scar across his neck that was a deep pink.

“We’ve heard about you from across the sea, word spread that you had come back to claim Zanatra. An heir to its rightful throne. They say you have the blood as blue as the depths in the ocean.”

I listened to her words as she knelt down to the boy.

“My son was born a Blueblood and we cannot find sanctuary anywhere that doesnt want to cause him harm.”

“Is that true?” I looked towards the little boy and he hesitantly nodded.

“Well, you’re more than welcome to stay. After all, the island was made for Bluebloods. Who would I be to deny you?”

Their eyes lit up and the happiness could be seen from miles away with them.

“Your Majesty.. I- Thank you. I don’t know what to say.”

With a wave of my hand I dismissed it and shook my head.

“No need, this island will be a safe haven to all Bluebloods. Our kind will thrive again I’ll make sure of it. We are no threat, and on this island I will make it known. Step by step.”

Some villagers hopped to towards them and began helping them unload their belongings.

“Bring their things to the castle as their accommodations are being made.” I said and turned around towards Rhyland and Cassius.

They both had this look about them as if they couldn’t believe their eyes.

“What?”

At this, they both straightened up and shook their heads.

“Oh nothing, it’s just you’ve been doing this for what? A few days now? And you’re already better than my father ever was.” Rhyland spoke and I chuckled, giving him a little push.
With a swing of his arm, he had thrown it over my shoulders and pulled me into him. The walk back to the castle was a quite one as all three of us walked down the stone path.

This was the life I was born to live, with the man I was suppose to hate. Fate has weird ways, but I wouldn’t have it any differently.
