Fated to the Alpha Who Killed Me

"Violet Goldcrest," Daemon's voice was thunder, vibrating through the wet ground and into my bones. "You have failed as Luna." I knelt in the mud, the agony of rejection tearing through me as I watched him walk away with pregnant Celeste. "I, Daemon Blackwood," he intoned coldly, "reject you as my mate." I had loved him for ten years—until he humiliated me in a public Rejection Ceremony, abandoned me for another woman, and waged war on my pack. My parents died protecting me. I died alone, broken by his betrayal. Then I woke up... three years earlier. This time, I'm done begging for his love. "I'll make you a bet, Daemon," I say when he dismisses my offer to break our bond. "Soon, you won't just accept this rejection—you'll beg for it." He stares at me with icy disdain. "I. Don't. Beg." I sigh. As the one who's lived this before, I know what's coming. Daemon will meet his true mate, fall madly for her, and finally set me free. All I have to do is wait. But then... things get weird. The man who once spent months away from me now watches my every move. He interrogates me about other males. And when he does meet Celeste, he doesn't reject me like he's supposed to. He rejects her instead.
