Stephen’s POV

I had no idea why Maya insisted I should accompany Calla and her father. Maybe she didn’t trust the man and Calla, better yet I followed I will question her when I get back home, I know she must have a good reason there is no way she insisted I come here because of her beef with Calla.

There was an uncomfortable silence that surrounded the car when we got in, Calla looked nervous I wondered why while her father kept a stern face, we were all upset with him but I’m glad he is willing to help us, now we will be able to take down the Spanish cartel with his help and a good look at that agreement will help, Adric always says there is a loophole to every agreement and I fucking hoped he is right,

When we got to the house, I followed the man into his office while Calla excused herself, non of us questioned why she left.

“Is that all the file?.” I ask and he nods.

I open the file and the agreement caught my eyes, I glanced through the paper, it looked like a basic document to me but I know once it gets to Adric he would have a different opinion on it, I won’t want to stress him with work today I can’t get one of the men to help me.

I saw the way he looked, I saw the way he lost control of his emotions when he found out why his mom and sister died, knowing him he would blame himself for their murder even though it has nothing to do with him and I knew Maya will be there to stop him from having those thoughts.

Having her with Adric was a blessing, the man has been alone most of his life and having someone that loves and cherish him that is something he has always wanted to have. I liked her more than any other woman he has brought home mainly because I know she is with Adric because she loves him not because of his money,

She knew all his habits and even when she had the chance to leave everything behind and go back to her normal life, she didn’t instead she stayed with him and fuck I know that’s one of the best decision she has made toward their relationship.

“And the Spanish cartel, once I confirm our next meeting I will send you an address.” Her dad says and I nod.

I can’t wait to kill those bastards for destroying our peace when we had nothing to do with their mafia, they should have revenged when the man was alive but they waited, they waited so fucking long now they don’t even know he has died.

“Please do, if there is any new update I will make sure Calla informs.” I smile,

“Thank you.” He says,

If he was just another random mafia, I know Adric would have killed him for not informing him about this alliance sooner but he is lucky, he is our best-friend’s father,

“I will say my goodbyes to Calla, thank you.” I smile before leaving.

I walk toward her room when I heard whispers coming from it, I shouldn’t eavesdrop on her conversations but I felt the urge to do it. I walked closer to the door and pressed my ear against it.

“I can’t let them know I am part of this, it will ruin the man.” She says. “I will try and stall them, you know what to do? You better don’t mess up like Mathew and Tobias, I was a big fool having business with those men.”

Fuck.

“I will get the files to you, they are all thrown by emotions right now I will suggest you work faster, have her killed first.” She says.

Who is she talking to?

She is working to destroy our mafia.

She wants to sell the information I obtained from her father.

I stood in front of the door unable to do anything.

“I have to go, I think someone is here.” She says before hanging up.

I let out a breath and walk further away from the door then when she opened it door I started walking toward the door, to her it will seem like I’m just coming out of her father’s office and heading to her.

“Stephen, are you guys done?.”

“Yes, I’m going back to the mansion, Adric needs me. I wanted to say goodbye before I leave.” I smile, it was a fake one.

“I will be coming for dinner, I’m bringing Sebastian.”

“Our sweet boyfriend.” I joked and she roll her eyes.

She walked me out of the door and I drove away, I could have confronted her but calla is smart, she will never agree to do any of this, she would pretend she has nothing to do with it and accuse me instead.

I have to speak to Adric. Calla knows something, she has being supporting Mathew and Tobias that explained why she insisted Adric should come for the mafia event and how they knew about our location and now this, she is giving out our information and if I’m not wrong I know she is working for the Spanish cartel but I had one question why?

I got back home, Maya was in the living room while Adric was not in sight.

“Where is he?.”

“I got him to sleep, please don’t wake him up.” She pleaded with her eyes.

One look at me she knew something is wrong.

“Why did you ask me to accompany Calla and her father?.”

She lets out a breath before speaking. “It may seem weird and this has nothing to do with the fact that I hate her.”

“Maya.”

“She was acting weird. When her father was speaking about the murder and Spanish cartel she was nervous and I’m fucking sure she knew the truth behind the murder and she never told anyone.”

“I believe you, she does.”

“Wait what, you believe me.” She asks, if she has told me this before I eavesdropped on Calla I would have never believed her but right now I do.

“I think Calla is working with the Spanish cartel and you remember Mathew and Tobias.” I ask and she nods. “She was with them, I have no idea why and she is coming tonight, she is going to steal those information.” He says.

“We won’t let her, we will tell Adric once he wakes up.” I say and she nods.

I know it would be hard to believe but he knows I won’t make up this shit, I can’t.
