Dinner with the devil

Maya’s POV

I was nervous as hell when I woke up alone in bed, I know how worried Adric is about this and now knowing his father has something to do with this, he is the reason behind all these attacks. I know it hurts him a lot.

The man won’t let him live in peace even after his death. I know how anxious Adric is to take care of everything, he is scared Santiago will take me away from him forever just like he took his mom and sister.

I wanted to wait for Adric to have dinner but from the looks of it I knew he would still be stuck in his office till late evening, I walked downstairs when I noticed Stephanie in the kitchen with Bella. They are really bounding.

“We thought you didn’t wake up,” Steph says.

“After the wild sex she had, she ought to sleep for a while.” Bella smiles and I roll my eyes.

“We didn’t do anything.”

“Say that to someone who hasn’t heard your scream every single night.” Bella smiles and I shake my head in annoyance.

Everyone has heard me scream, as annoying as it was but I guess I will have to speak to Adric to have his room soundproof, I can’t imagine having another friend of his who has heard me scream.

“Forget about all that, what’s for dinner?.” I ask.

“We made spaghetti.”

“Did you take it to the boys?”

“I don’t want to yell. The whole drama that comes with that, I really can’t.” Steph says I was a bit confused when she said that.

“Calla is here,” Bella whispers to me.

Fucking hell, why is she here. The last time we saw her she was a bitch to Stephanie and she didn’t look much happy when she found out I would be getting married to Adric and let’s not even talk about her fucking fake boyfriend, it’s so obvious either she is dating him to lie to us or she is been forced and knowing Calla no one can force her to do what she doesn’t want to do.

The more I think about it, the more I realize I hate her guts.

“You left her all alone with Adric.”

“Stephan is there and some of their men, she won’t try anything,” Bella says.

They are having a meeting, I don’t want to intrude so I figured I would wait until they are done then I will speak to Adric about this. I don’t want her near him.

“Quit worrying, Adric won’t let anything happen.”

“I trust him, it’s her I don’t trust,” I say to Bella.

“What did she ever do aside from being a bitch.” Stephanie asks and I laugh. She really hates her guts.

I instantly tell her everything that happened, how she kissed my fiancée and how she wanted him to leave me and she was glad when she thought I died of the bomb Mathew and Tobias planted in the house, she is an asshole for doing all that.

“I understand why you hate her but chill Stephan is there, he won’t let anything happen.” She says and I smile.

“So you and Stephan.”

“Just friends, I don’t think he wants anything more.”

“He cares about you.”

“He doesn’t.”

“He does.” Bella and I say in unison.

He didn’t let her die, he was willing to protect her from his enemies, if he didn’t care it wouldn’t be hard for him to throw her away, I knew that enough about him.

After ten minutes of trying to convince Stephanie, it was to no avail. I know he will show her how much she means to him one of these days, a smile crept through my face when I heard the door open.

They are done with their meeting, I glanced behind as I noticed some men walking out of the house and there he was walking down the stairs with Satan herself, she doesn’t have to know she affect me this much. I know that will give her an upper hand.

Adric looked stressed when they walked toward me, I noticed her trying to put her her hands around his shoulder as some sort of comfort but he wouldn’t let her.

Good boy.

When he gets close to me, he wraps his hand around me from behind and inhales my perfume, I know it calms him down, I notice Calla glaring at me, she won’t have a rest at it, it’s fucking annoying.

“Are you okay?.” I ask and he shakes his head indicating a “no”. “Do you want to talk about it?.”

“Not yet.” He says and I nod.

“Come have dinner with me then we can go up and I will make you feel better.” I smiled, I must have said that out loud when I heard a series of Ewws coming from Stephanie, Bella, and Stephan while Calla on the other hand stood like a monster waiting to prey on her next victim.

Adric sat beside me while she went ahead to sit beside him. Her hand was touching his shoulder,

“Calla, how’s is Sebastian,” I ask.

“He is doing good.” She gritted through her teeth, why is she being annoyed? I am just asking about her boyfriend. I asked because I knew how annoyed she would be if I did so.

It gave me a kind of satisfaction whenever she was not happy around me.

I start to feed Adric his spaghetti, I love feeding him, he is like my big baby.

“You know he can eat using his hand.” I hear an annoyed voice.

“He likes it when I do it, maybe you should try this with Sebastian.”I smile.

That made her quiet, now I know what to use to keep her mouth shut, she talks too fucking much and I know he called her here because of work so she better stays within her limits and avoids any form of drama when it comes to me. I would hate for both of us to have a heated argument when Adric is going through so much, I won’t want to add to his problems.

After we were done eating, I noticed how Calla kept on trying to make every conversation longer, she didn’t want Adric to come upstairs with me, and when I got bored of her speaking I excused both of us saying we would see her tomorrow.

I know she will be here tomorrow, she will be here every day until this is over, but for now, she needs to go back to her fucking house and then come back when it’s time.

“That took forever,” I said to Adric once we got into the room.

“I know, it’s fucking annoying. She never speaks too much yet she is doing it effortlessly.”

“I would say she is doing it to spite me but you won’t believe your childhood friend is that shallow.”

“I will, I will trust you a thousand times, no matter what you say.”

“Romantic much.” I smile and he nods.

I pressed my lips against his, he felt warm against my touch.

“Already,” I ask when I feel something poking me.

“Always ready for you.” He smiles.
