Chapter 220 Book 5: You Take My Breath Away
Two days before their wedding, the whole family drove down to Lakewood Resorts, Summerlin, right on the shores of Lake Jacqueline, located a few miles away. The tranquility and freshness of the place took Isabella’s breath away. She hadn’t expected it to be so surreal. It was much more beautiful and much more overwhelming than her dreams. There was a gazebo overlooking the lake, and it made her gasp with awe.
“Do you like the place, sweetie?” asked her mom. With Weston’s arm around her and dreams of a blissfully happy wedded life in her heart, she couldn’t have asked for a better venue than this.
“Yes, mom. I love it. Thank you for making my dreams come true,” she said.
“I’m glad that we could. That’s what parents are for,” said her mom.
The others drove in and there wasn’t a moment to spare with the chaos all around. Despite it all, she always found Weston paying her all the attention like a doting husband. Although they were yet to get married, there was no doubt that he would indeed make a wonderful husband.
It was lunchtime, and they all sat down together around the huge outdoor dining area on the patio. It was like a picnic. Everyone had arrived with their family and better halves. While Cody and Dave’s parents gave their parents’ company, the younger generation had other plans for enjoyment. They were all busy planning different activities and parties. Since Isabella didn’t want to involve many people, David Gray only invited some of their immediate relatives and friends.
Weston hated parties and instead wanted them to go sightseeing. So it was decided that they would go sightseeing right after lunch and later in the evening, they could party. So Hudson, Anna Sophia and their twins and Laurence, Arianna and their children went to the nearby petting zoo while the rest of them went to the golf club nearby followed by a visit to the ballet theater and lastly, a bar to celebrate the evening.
When they returned to the resort, thankfully, they were too tired to have a party. Weston and Isabella walked hand in hand towards their wedding arch that had been constructed but had yet to be decorated. They practiced their vows and sat on the grassy ledge overlooking the arch.
“It’s finally happening Isabella. We’re getting married in two days,” said Weston, as the feeling seeped in.
“I know! In the last ten years, so much has changed between us. I still remember the day I had walked into your house. I felt like an unwanted guest. You started hating me at first sight. I looked so ugly,” she said, as memories of that day came by and she couldn’t stop the smile from breaking out on her face. They had been so immature, so childish back then.
“You were never ugly, Isabella, and I never hated you,” said Weston.
“Then why did you react to me the way you did? I was so miserable. I wanted to run away from all of you,” she asked.
“You took my breath away, and I started getting attracted to you. It was a change, and I didn’t want to change. I couldn’t decipher my feelings for you, and that was what made me more rebellious, I guess. Those were a long time ago, Isabella. Over the years, we have grown. We have conquered all our insecurities, we have matured. We have learned from the mistakes of our past. I’m not saying that life with me would be a bed of roses, but we’ll survive all the difficulties that come our way. Our love is all that matters, right?” he said, picking up her hand and holding it in his.
“Yes, you’re right. Let’s look ahead now towards the future,” she said. Weston played with her hand as he looked deep in thought.
“What are you thinking?” asked Isabella.
“What if I’m unable to be very successful in my business? The last project didn’t happen and now I have only two at hand. I mean, you’re so successful as an author while I’m unable to live up to your expectations. I think I should have stuck to a job instead,” said Weston. Isabella touched his chin and compelled him to look at him.
“Success doesn’t happen overnight, Weston. It doesn’t matter whether you have one project or none. Do your best with what you have. Build your own portfolio and you’ll see that one day you’ll be proud of having pursued your dreams. We have only one life, so why not fulfill our dreams now instead of fearing failure? It doesn’t matter at all if you fail. Failures are the pillars of success. So just enjoy your work without thinking so much. I’m here with you to support you, to love you, not to judge you,” she said sincerely. Weston saw the sincerity in her eyes and pulled her closer and kissed her lingeringly. He was thankful to God for giving him such a life partner, a soul mate, in the true sense of the term.
“So, what are you doing tomorrow? I thought we could get away from all this and go out on a date,” he offered. Isabella’s eyes brightened up, but then she remembered the planning that was going on to have her bridal shower party tomorrow.
“Tomorrow mom has organized my bridal shower party. So the whole morning I’ll be busy with that,” she said with a pout. Weston grinned and kissed the pout away.
“We can go in the evening. I’ll talk to mom, don’t worry,” he said, making her grin with happiness. She laid her head against his shoulder and they sat quietly, watching the pristine lake and the reflection of the moon shimmering over its surface.
“Will you be very upset if we didn’t go on a honeymoon immediately after our wedding?” asked Weston hesitantly. “I have a deadline to complete right away,” he told her, gazing into her eyes. Isabella shook her head.
“It’s okay, Weston. We just went on a vacation. We can go later when you are free,” she said. Weston smiled and pulled her closer.
“Thank you for being so understanding,” he said with a twinkle in his eye.
“Thank you for boosting my ego so much,” she said with a chuckle. Weston too chuckled.
“So how about boosting my ego a little now?” he asked, getting up and pulling her up with him.
“And how can I do that?” she asked, although she already knew the answer to that.
“By letting me make love to you the way I want to. Seeing your reaction to me every time I touch you is enough to give me happiness, to boost my ego,” he said, pulling her along. With their hearts racing with excitement, they reached the room that had been allocated to them. Since they had gone through a lot, no one thought of separating them before the wedding. Weston was thankful that else he had thought of fighting the decision. With everyone having retired to their rooms for the night, he pulled her towards their room and closed the door shut.
“I need a shower. How about you?” asked Weston, stripping off his clothes one by one. Isabella knew exactly what he was hinting at.
“I don’t mind taking one with you,” she said boldly, taking his breath away.
“Is that so? Then why don’t you show me how eager you are?” he suggested. Isabella smiled at his challenge and started to strip. Soon their clothes were off and Weston grabbed her hand and pulled her towards the en-suite. Isabella briefly glanced at their reflection in the full-length mirror. They really looked the opposite, yet perfectly matched and complemented each other.
While he looked ripped, sun-kissed, tattooed, and exuded power, she looked delicate, flushed pink and milky white in comparison. But whatever it was, they looked perfect for one another, just as if they were already married for life.
He led her inside to the shower cubicle, but before they could start the water, they both lost all semblance of control and started kissing each other like there’s no tomorrow. Soon they were drowned in each other and made passionate love within the close confines of the glass cubicle. After the back-to-back climaxes finally they could take a refreshing shower. Emerging from the washroom, they finally put on some clothes and cuddled to sleep.
“Where will we go, Weston?” she asked him eagerly.
“This time you decide where you want to go on a date. There’s no hurry. Think over and tell me tomorrow morning,” said Weston. Isabella was excited as she thought about where she wanted to go with Weston.
“I know where we can go,” she told him.
“That was fast. So where do you want to go?” he asked eagerly.
“Let’s go for a movie at Red Rock theater. I want a quiet thing to do after a crazy party in the morning,” she said.
“Great then. We’ll have our dinner there as well,” he said, finally cuddling up to sleep.
