Chapter 218 Book 5: A Sweet Proposal
Chapter 218 Book 5: A Sweet Proposal
As he carried her to the bed, Isabella realized that this was the life she had always craved. She was now his, completely his. The love-making this time was more of an exploration, gentler than before. This was what they had been looking forward to since last night. As they lay side by side, gasping for breath, calming their throbbing hearts, Isabella couldn’t help but feel a tug at her heartstrings when she turned and saw him staring at her.
His electric blue eyes looked incredible in the afternoon light filtering through the curtains, his lips pinker from their kisses. They were the most precious treasures to her now, just like he was, completely. A surge of love filled her heart and when he rolled to his side to face her, his gaze hooked to her mouth, his fingers tracing their outline, she was lost again.
“I’m not getting enough of you, Isabella,” he said, grinding his hard length against her.
“Again?” she asked with a faint smile, catching her bottom lip between her teeth with satisfaction. She loved it when he said such things. Her heart started beating rapidly every time.
“Yeah. I can never have enough of you. That’s what you always do to me.” Isabella’s heart skipped a beat, and she pulled him closer.
“Will you say these things ten years later?” she asked with a grin.
“Yes, even when I’m sixty. Although we just reunited, it seems as if we had never been apart. I feel married to you already,” he said and Isabella grinned.
“I know what you mean,” she said as his fingertips traced along her throat, going down to her chest. He couldn’t stay away from her now that he had a taste of her sweetness. He realized that the time had come for him to plan something special, something that would take her breath away. His fingers palmed her breasts, tenderly teasing them. His mouth followed his fingers all over her body.
It didn’t take him long to slip into her again, thrusting in and out of her, his hands providing immense pleasure to her as they roamed all over her body. They climaxed together and fell into each other’s arms to steady their erratic heartbeats and breathing.
“Go out with me? Just a walk around?” asked Weston after some time, looking at her with hope.
“Yes, anywhere with you,” she said, getting up to go to the en-suite to freshen up and wear her clothes. Weston quickly wore his clothes and made a quick call to the caretaker of the property in her absence.
She came out ready, looking fresh as a daisy, and he stared at her with so much love that it took her breath away. There was a gleam in his eyes, a small smile playing on his lips as he took her in. “Ice cream?” she nodded with a grin. He somehow knew what she needed. She didn’t even need to say it explicitly. Holding onto his arm, she walked with him. He pulled her tenderly to his side, his arm going around her shoulders possessively.
“I never thought my little dwarf would grow so tall one day!” he said with a chuckle, while Isabella scoffed at his words.
“I never was a dwarf for your kind information. I was just twelve years old,” she protested, and Weston chuckled. They went to the same ice cream parlor they had gone to before. Weston treated her to her favorite ice cream. She fed him a little from her own and he fed quite a lot from his. The sun was about to set in another hour and Weston led her to Laguna Art Museum to watch a concert presented by Laguna Beach Live! It included a series of evening performances of chamber music and was quite enjoyable. Later, he treated her to delicious chocolate-dipped strawberries.
“Mmm, I think this is the best treat of the day,” moaned Isabella, helping herself to more strawberries.
“You really like it, don’t you? I’m getting other ideas now,” he said with a sly grin on his face.
“What ideas?” she asked innocently, while Weston chuckled.
“You wouldn’t want to know. Trust me,” he said, making her suspicious.
“I only like strawberries coated with chocolates, okay,” she glared at him and he laughed.
“How would you know when you’ve tried nothing else?” They were walking hand in hand towards their cottage and Isabella wondered what they would eat for dinner. Were those strawberry treats their dinner?
However, the moment they reached the cottage, her eyes went wide seeing the patio overlooking the beach, all lit up with little lights, creating a halo all around. She gasped, seeing a table sheathed in a white, beautiful table spread, with similar chairs, sheathed in white covers with little plum-colored satin bows.
There was a bottle of champagne on the table, which was laid beautifully with plum-colored table napkins and sparkling silver cutlery. There was a bunch of deep red roses matching the plum bows, placed as a centerpiece.
“Are we celebrating something?” asked Isabella, puzzled by it all.
“See for yourself,” said Weston. “Come, let’s have our dinner,” he said, leading her towards the table. There were rum-glazed shrimps to start with. There was seafood lasagna, grilled barbecued meatloaf, grilled and sautéed asparagus, and scallops. It was the most delicious meal and the most enjoyable too. They talked about their software development business, how to start, and how to plan it all. Weston was very clear it seemed with what he wanted to do, his planning, and his vision. He had chalked everything out. Isabella loved to hear him talk, his voice, the way he was sharing a piece of himself with her, sharing his dreams with her. It all made her feel special.
After dinner, they cleared the table and sat sipping the champagne. “Thank you for the amazing dinner, Weston. I loved it,” she said, and he grinned at her, his eyes twinkling with excitement. He stood up, holding her hand and pulling her up with him.
“C’mon, let’s go to Cress Street Beach,” he offered, already pulling her along. Isabella noted the excited gleam in his eyes as he couldn’t seem to wait for her answer. He pulled her towards the beach with Isabella, literally running after him.
“Weston, why are we rushing?” asked Isabella. The sun had set, and the sky was full of twinkling stars, the ocean waters reflecting the moonlight, creating a magical atmosphere all around them.
“You’ll see,” he said excitedly. He led her to the beach where she could see two men, poised and ready with their violins, looking towards them. What was going on? Weston led her towards them where she gasped, seeing an enormous heart created on the beach with glowing lanterns.
The musicians on the beach started playing a beautiful love song and Weston went down on one knee before her. Isabella gasped, realizing what was going on. He held her hand and looked into her eyes, his expression softening, his eyes depicting the love and sincerity that he felt in his heart.
“Isabella, the day I first saw you, I felt a strange excitement in my body, a strange restlessness to see you all the time, a strange interest to know you more, something which I had never felt before. The intensity of those feelings scared me. I wanted to remain the reckless and careless Weston who I knew so well, not the soft Weston who couldn’t drive a certain girl out of his mind. At that point, I hated you, but mostly I hated myself for reacting to you. I escaped to Cody’s house, a habit that I have whenever I’m upset. But would you believe me if I told you I missed you like crazy there? There was no respite, and I had to return to you.” He paused, licking his lips nervously.
“The first kiss that you gave me on my cheeks that night made me realize I was in love with you. There has been no one before you and no one after you, Isabella. You’re the only girl I’ve ever loved all my life. I hadn’t ever thought that the day would come in my life when I could love someone so deeply and then you came along. I knew then that I’d found my soul mate. But you know my immature mind and recklessness always got the better of me and I fcked up the beautiful relationship that we shared. We’ve gone through hell all these years and it was all my fault, Isabella. I’m really sorry for what happened, for hurting you. Now I’m thankful that I found you again. This time, I swear I won’t ever let you go. I’ll do anything you say to hold you to me for life, forever. So will you be mine forever? Will you let me prove my love for you all my life? Will you marry me, Isabella?” he asked, his eyes shining with love.
“Yes, Weston, I love you. I always have and I always will,” she whispered, her eyes filling with tears of joy. He took out a shell with a beautiful solitaire diamond ring in it, making Isabella gasp with wonder. Everything he did made her feel special and cherished.
“For my love,” he said, slipping it onto her fingers.
“It’s beautiful and as precious as you are to me,” she breathed, pulling him close for a passionate kiss. Later, they thanked the musicians and strolled hand in hand on the beach, happily engaged to one another.
