Chapter 211 Book 5: Sleeping With Weston

Chapter 211 Book 5: Sleeping With Weston
Suddenly Isabella felt a warm hand on her abdomen where the camisole had ridden up. She stirred, but again went back to sleep. The hand pulled her close to a warm, bare, and hard chest. Isabella turned towards it and snuggled into it. Bliss! A strange wetness on her neck and throat made her eyes open her sleepy eyes. Where was she? It felt heavenly, and she didn’t want the dream to end. It wasn’t something new for her, since she dreamed of Weston almost every night.
However, this time, she was in her own bed at her childhood home in Las Vegas, but who was attacking her neck? Sensing Weston’s familiar smell, Isabella came out of her dazed state only to sense his presence in the room, his warm hand caressing her abdomen, making her go dizzy. She soon realized that this wasn’t a dream. But what was he doing in her bed? Her heartbeats started racing at the realization since this was what she had been wanting for years!
Extremely aware of herself, she glanced at his face under the dim lights of the night lamp. With his eyes closed, he seemed to be in his sleep and her breath stuck in her throat, not wanting the magical moment to end. A moan of deep longing escaped her mouth when he went lower. She had craved him for so long that it felt like a dream come true to be held like this in his arms.
Soon she realized he was not conscious. Will he resent this when he wakes up? She should wake him up and ask him to go back to his own room, but it felt so right to be with him she couldn’t wake him up. Still, she gently tried to free herself from his hold, but couldn’t. The way he pinned her down with his thick muscular leg, there was no other way than to wake him up.
His mouth traveled further down to the base of her throat and started kissing the sensitive spot there, making her writhe with pleasure. Her fingers went to his soft, silky hair as she caressed them lovingly. She didn’t want to wake him up, but she had to, as there was no other way. She wanted him to be awake when he touched her.
“Weston, what are you doing?” she whispered breathlessly.
“Kissing you, baby,” he mumbled in his sleepy, husky tone, almost inaudible for her to hear.
“Stop, please,” she breathed, pleading with him.
“No, you can’t dictate to me in my dreams,” he whispered, holding her tightly and embedding his face into her neck, and going back to a deep slumber. Isabella calmed down, listening to his breathing. A strange tenderness enveloped her and she couldn’t wake him up and ask him to leave. She realized he was indeed dreaming of her. A sigh of contentment escaped her mouth at being held so lovingly and soon she too fell fast asleep cuddled up in his arms.
The next morning, Isabella opened her eyes slowly, feeling happy, and well-rested, and saw that Weston was still fast asleep beside her. She eased herself off the bed, not wanting to wake him up, and quickly freshened up. Then tiptoed out of the room and went downstairs to get some coffee.
Everyone at the table looked up the moment she entered and her eyes sought her dad’s. He opened his arms out to her with a warm smile on his face and Isabella felt tears prick at her eyes upon seeing him so frail and haggard.
“Isa, my little girl! Won’t you give me a hug?” He stood up and Isabella ran up to him and hugged him.
“I’m so sorry, dad. I shouldn’t have left you,” she said with tears of remorse in her eyes.
“Shh, you’re back now, aren’t you? Let’s not discuss the past anymore.” It comforted her and they sat down and sipped coffee together and discussed her life in LA, her book and its success, her dad’s health, and the treatments prescribed. Anna Sophia came down with the kids and Isabella hugged her nephews, promising to get them their favorite toys soon.
Suddenly, the sound of Weston’s footsteps on the staircase alerted her. Acutely aware of Weston’s presence, she, at last, turned around slowly to see the incredulous expression on his face. He stood frozen on the staircase, staring at her, blinking with disbelief. It was obvious no one had informed him of her return and Isabella would rather die than admit what they shared in the night, not even to Anna Sophia.
“Wes, see who’s finally come back,” gushed his mom, but Weston nodded, his face looking pale and distraught. It had Isabella wondering if he wasn’t happy to see her. He climbed down the stairs slowly, avoiding her gaze, deeply drowned in his thoughts, while a frown marred his handsome features. As he walked towards the table, she noticed a slight limp in his gait. When he came closer, in the broad daylight, she noticed a stitch across his forehead. He didn’t look in her direction at all and Isabella found his behavior extremely weird. He didn’t look at all happy to see her and all the enthusiasm of reuniting with him shattered completely.
“Wes, won’t you greet her? What’s wrong with you?” asked his mom, looking at him with concern. Weston glanced up at her, flashing a forced smile in her direction. It made her doubt their encounter last night. Did he really seek her warmth, or was it just a figment of her imagination?
“Hi, Isabella, welcome back,” he said stiffly while Isabella looked at him in disbelief. Did he not remember the love that they used to share? He had undergone a massive transformation and she could hardly connect with the Weston she saw before her eyes.
The twins attacked him and he sipped his coffee while playing with them, his eyes glancing at her forlornly occasionally. However, every time she glanced in his direction, he looked away.
“Do you have any important work today, Wes? Can you take leave?” pleaded his mom, but Weston shook his head, much to Isabella’s disappointment.
“I’ll go to the hospital first, mom and then straight to work. There’s the Radiant Group’s project I need to deliver today. I’ll stay back at the office till it’s complete.” His reply disappointed Isabella immensely, and she was now convinced that he was trying to avoid her. It made her very upset, and she lost her appetite completely. Hudson noticed her downcast eyes and dejected look.
When Weston went upstairs to shower and get ready, Hudson approached Isabella. “Give him some time, Isa. He has gone through a lot. He isn’t the same Weston anymore,” he told her, but Isabella was confused. After seeing him, she had a feeling that there was something that she wasn’t aware of.
“What happened to him? Is he hurt?”
Anna Sophia and Hudson told her about the accident while Isabella clutched at her heart, listening to the scary details. “He has recovered completely, but he has that little limp right now which can only go away with routine physiotherapy,” said Hudson.
“But he refuses to do it,” said Anna Sophia with a sigh.
“Yes, now that you’re here, he might get motivated to go in for physiotherapy,” said Hudson with a smile.
“How? He doesn’t even seem happy to see me here,” said Isabella with a sad face.
“Of course he’s happy. He’s just shocked and scared that you’ll leave again. Give him time to grasp the fact,” said Hudson, getting up. “Well, much as I would love to chat with you the whole day, I can’t. It’s Monday and my clinic needs me.”
“Clinic? Where are you working?” asked Isabella while Hudson grinned.
“I’m not working anywhere, pumpkin. I have my own sports clinic and rehab center here as I always wanted to,” said Hudson proudly, and Isabella looked at him appreciatively.
“Wow, bro. That’s wonderful. Congratulations.” Her mom called out to her from the kitchen and she rushed to help her make breakfast. However, her heart and mind were with Weston and she wondered what he was up to. She wanted to run up the stairs to his room and hug him tightly as she used to when younger, but a strange shyness stopped her from doing what her heart desired. After breakfast was ready, she went upstairs to her room, but before she could fix her appearance and go to Weston’s room, she heard the front door open and close. She rushed towards her window and looked out to see Weston climb into his car. He briefly glanced in her direction, and with a small, odd wave, he drove away.
The whole day Isabella dejectedly unpacked her stuff, played with her nephews, and chatted with Sophia. She went to Arianna’s house to give her a surprise visit and the two friends caught up with one another. It was evening when Isabella returned home. She was missing Weston too much and felt disappointed when she didn’t see him around.
Weston sat alone at the office with his head in his hands. His work was done, but he didn’t have the courage to face Isabella and had to make excuses for his mom to avoid her. After reading her book, he realized how worthless he was and how much he had hurt her. Now that she was so successful, she surely had much better guys chasing her. He didn’t deserve her at all with his crippled body and scarred face. She might hate him already. Maybe she just came to see his dad and would leave again in a day or two. Having made a fool of himself last night, he shouldn’t burden her with his unwanted feelings. His thoughts went to last night, and he closed his eyes, imagining her in his arms. His cheeks colored a little with embarrassment, wondering what must she be thinking of him! It was better that he stayed away till she left again.
It was midnight when Weston returned home like a criminal, hiding from the one he loved the most. Swearing that he would sleep in his own room from now on, he freshened up and lay down on his bed. However, he twisted and turned for the next two hours, unable to fall asleep despite the exhaustion. In his sleepy state, he did not know when he got up and walked over to Isabella’s room to seek her warmth.
