Chapter 85
Chapter 85
Ava’s pov
I traced imaginary lines on Dale’s body. It felt so good to make love to him. We had gone two more rounds after the first, with the third tiring me out way more than usual.
“That was lovely. I enjoyed myself.” I said.
“I am glad you enjoyed yourself.” He beamed at me and held my hand.
“Don’t just go about looking at another man the way you looked at that buffoon today. It pissed the hell out of me.” He hissed.
I stared at him and raised a brow, surprised that he was talking this way. If I could remember clearly, he was the same person who had asked that I have someone else on the side so that I would not feel overwhelmed by the fact that he was dating Vanessa.
How could he say such a thing now? He should be excited that I could let out some steam elsewhere without ruining what we had.
“Umm, I don’t think you should be complaining about that. I have learnt not to complain when I see you openly gushing over Vanessa.” I said and threw my gaze away from him, knowing that I had set in motion what could be another argument.
He fixed his gaze on me, but I did not look back at him. I didn’t want to lose my nerve. Not now.
“Ava, you can not compare yourself to me. You understand the situation with me and Vanessa. I can not just end things between me and her. Moreover, what credible reason am I going to give? That I am in love with you?” He said.
I was momentarily taken aback by his statement about being in love with me. Was that true? Was he really in love with me? Did he mirror the same feelings that I had for him? That would be a dream come through, but right now was not the time to dwell on something that could be untrue.
“Dale, I am not asking you to break things off with her. Far from it. Instead, I am asking that you grant me the same luxury that I grant to you. If you can be with Vanessa in public, you should not have a problem seeing me in public with another man.” I said in a firm tone, refusing to cave in for him.
A deep chuckle escaped from his mouth and I looked at him, scared for a second by the ire in his eyes.
“Unfortunately, I can not grant you the same luxury, Ava, especially not with that dude.” He stated.
“Oh really? And why is that?”
“Because I don’t know. It is already weird that his dad is fucking my mom, you both should not be attracted to each other. It is sickening.” He hissed.
“And what do you think that other people are going to say when they find out that you and I are having sex with each other?” I questioned.
He went mute at that statement and I knew that I had scored a point on him. It felt good to do that.
“You also have nothing to worry about me and Justin. He is probably not into me and was just being polite.” I stated, trying to douse the situation.
“That dude looked anything but polite. He definitely knew what he was doing and you were eating him up as though he was the best thing after sliced bread.” He hissed again, his annoyance rising with each second.
He sat upright and let out an annoyed hiss. I stared at him, wondering what the hell was up with him. He didn’t need to blow this out of proportion. He picked up his shirt and pulled it over his head.
“I just don’t want to see you with any man, Ava. Not him, no one. You are happy with me and that is all that matters. You don’t have to look elsewhere.” He said.
I raised a brow at his statement, not believing that he was saying that. We had agreed that I was going to have the freedom to be with whomever I damned well pleased. He was not going to dictate to me how to live my life. I was not going to take that.
“Umm, I am sorry, but no. You clearly told me that I could have someone too. It was the agreement upon which our relationship was built. If you are not going to let that stand, then you might as well do the honorable thing and break things off with Vanessa. That way, we would both be equals.” I stated with as much power as I could.
He stared at me for a second and shook his head. “That is not going to happen Ava. Our agreement was that you could keep your Mystery Man. I never said you could go around frolicking with everyone. Is that clear?”
“Well, my Mystery Man doesn’t count. I don’t know what he looks like or what his name even is. All I know is that he is a good fucker and that is all.”
I don’t know which part of my statement hurt him the most. The fact that my mystery man didn’t count or the fact that he was really good at pleasuring me. All I knew was that Dale was seriously mad at me from the way he glared daggers my way.
“Your Mystery Man counts because I say he does. If that does not suit you, then we can end all of this. But this is what you ought to know. I can not bear to see you with another man. Not ever!” He stated with a note of finality.
I stared at him for a long while and swallowed hard. If he was not going to respect me enough to put us on an equal pedestal, then we might as well just end it. Without a word, I grabbed my clothes from the floor and walked out of the room naked, not minding if anyone saw me.
