CHAPTER 74: Mischief
Alexia's POV
"You are up quite early alexia," Garvin remarked as I descended the stairs, rubbing my eyes as I did.
"Um yes," I answered as soon I got close enough, "it's been a while since I visited the company. I um want to go find out how things are going over there in the office" I completed, yawning once more...
"Ohh you need a ride or-
"No not at all," I interjected, " Um I would go fabric shopping as well. You know it's best to dress and appear as neutral as possible to blend in at the market." I explained, making pointless hand gestures.
"Ohh okay." He nodded slowly. Paying keen attention to my body movements.
did I seem all too jumpy? I hope he does not notice anything.
"You are leaving now?" I inquired, noticing for the first time since I got down that he was dressed in a dark green suit and a chalk-white button-down shirt. His hair was permed and I could see streaks of light brown highlights in them.
"You look really good," I added, instantly regretting my comment. The compliment sounded suggestive. Like I was hitting on something else.
"Thank you," he smiled, crinkles forming at the corner of his eyes, "Yeah I have a board meeting today, I might be home really late".
"It's fine," I nodded, internally grateful for what I had just heard.
"It's fine?" He raised his eyebrow at me. " Seems like you are going to have a lot of fun without me"
"No I did not mean it that way," I protested, " I meant like um we won't stay up waiting for you," I stuttered, rubbing my arms nervously.
"Now I feel even more sad"
"Come on I just have a bit of a problem piecing my words together." I teased.
"You seem nervous for some reason." He pointed out.
"No, I am not. I just haven't quite figured out the designs I'll be making." I lied, darting my eyes everywhere.
"More fuel to your creative process then," he put forth, winking at me.
"Yeah I will need that," I trailed off, snapping my fingers at him, He chuckled in response.
"Um Garvin," I called out after giving it a long and hard thought all through the night. I have tried my best to avoid this conversation within the past two days we have been here. But for some reason, it keeps resurfacing in my mind and I have decided that I was going to talk it out. I mean, what harm could it possibly cause?
"Yeah?" He answered, turning back to face me.
"What did you do with the Instagram account?" I blurted out.
"Nothing I just stopped posting" he shrugged, avoiding my gaze.
"Can you please delete it?" My voice came out in a whisper. alexia just forget about it, will you?
"Why Alexia?" The look in his eyes looked like he was almost about to cry. " We would be dating for real this time so why delete it." He sounded so sure that I would accept to date him for real this time. The whole social media already thinks we are dating. So I guess to me, making it indeed true wasn't such a big deal.
"You are right," I agreed reluctantly, there is no point raising an argument and ruining the morning for everyone. I will talk about it another day.
"I have to leave now else I will be late," he spoke up, breaking our gaze, "The Elders have been in such a cranky mood of late" he chuckled, adjusting his wristwatch.
"Yeah you should better go before they have your head for breakfast," I nodded repeatedly, urging him to go on ahead.
"Yeah," he trailed off before disappearing through the door.
The morning was really slow. I guess this is what you get when you get up by 5. am.
Oh, I am sorry Lisa I apologized as the cup slipped through my hands, shattering on the floor into irreparable pieces. I had been a clumsy mess since I woke up bumping into everything that was within sight.
It's okay Miss. She stared, "I will go get the broom and dustpan," she announced heading out of the kitchen to bring the broom and dustpan I suppose.
True to everyone's words I have been oddly nervous since I got up this morning. Many thoughts ran through my mind. Running back to the black blood Pack meant a lot more than just a visit. I was going back to my origin. A place that held a lot of memories, pleasant and unpleasant.
"I am back," she announced, startling me, "I am sorry Miss but you have been jumpy and you seem nervous. Is anything the matter? Do you have a meeting with a prospective investor?" She probed.
"No, I don't Lisa. I guess I am worried about how the public will take the new designs," I lied, rubbing the back of my neck.
"There is nothing to be worried or scared of Miss. This is your thing and all your designs are superb. Trust me they would love you it."
"You seem to have a lot of faith in me,"
"Because I have seen how hard you work to piece together your designs. I have seen how much each clothing is made with a lot of love and that alone is magical."
"Thank you," I uttered on the verge of releasing a tear from my eyes.
"Anytime. Anytime Miss Alexia,"
"Um, I should go get dressed now. I need to stop by the company first before going to the market. It might take a while for me to find the fabric I have in mind so I might be home late,"
"Yeah, sure you should get going now,"
\----------
"Kian momma is leaving now," I whispered, crutching beside his bed,
"Momma, will you be back soon,?"
"Of course my love," I assured, "you would not even notice that I was gone,"
"Alright momma,"
"Kian," I called softly, " If anyone asks, your momma went fabric shopping, alright?"
"But would that not be lying momma"
"It's not when you are doing it to help your momma."
"Alright momma," I could see the doubt and thousands of questions in his eyes. I can not answer them at this point, but one day I will provide him with all the answers he needs.
"Momma," his voice rang out,
"Yes, baby,"
"Send my regards to Uncle Kia, okay?"
"I will"

Traveling to the black blood Pack seemed a lot more easier than I expected it to be. Knowing fully well that there were a lot of downsides and dangers in coming here. I opted to infiltrate the pack, putting on a red-colored wig and an all too-absurd makeup and proceeding to cover my face with a veil
