Chapter 155 Rescuing Ophelia

In the damp and chilly storage room, Ophelia slowly opened her eyes.

It was pitch black, and the moldy smell made her want to puke.

She moved her neck and felt a sharp pain.

She remembered being at the entrance of The Howard Manor. As soon as she turned around, someone whacked her on the neck. She must have been kidnapped.

She had been kidnapped before when she was little, so she knew the drill.

Crying and making a fuss wouldn't help; it would just piss off the kidnappers, and if they got mad, they might kill her.

Plus, she was pretty, and if the kidnappers' desire was aroused, she'd be in big trouble.

Ophelia sat up, her hands tied behind her back and her feet bound too. There was no way she could escape.

The storage room door creaked open.

A man walked in, and then a flashlight shone on her face.

Ophelia squinted and backed away, shouting, "Stay away from me!"

The man laughed creepily, squatting in front of Ophelia and shining the flashlight on his own face. He then rolled his eyes, looking terrifying.

Ophelia bit her lip to keep from screaming. She knew he was trying to scare her, and she wouldn't let him win.

"You're quite brave, aren't you?" The man laughed sleazily. "I'm genuinely delighted to see such a beautiful woman like you."

Ophelia knew he was driven by desire. "Since you kidnapped me, you must know who I am. My uncle is Henry! If you want money, fine, but if you hurt me, he won't let you off!"

"Oh, I'm so frightened!" The man laughed loudly and reached out to touch Ophelia's face.

Ophelia spat at him, and the man wiped his face. "You've got quite a temper! I like it!"

With that, he lunged at Ophelia.

With her hands and feet bound, Ophelia couldn't resist.

She struggled, but it was useless. He tore her shirt open, and the buttons scattered on the ground.

The man then pried her legs apart, a lewd smile on his face.

At that moment, Alice leaped through the broken window, kicking the man to the ground.

The man cursed, "Damn it!"

Alice heard Ophelia's cries, and a wave of anger surged within her. She hadn't expected the kind-hearted Ophelia to be kidnapped and harmed because of her.

She stepped on the man's chest, pressing down hard.

The sound of cracking bones was accompanied by the man's wails.

Alice grabbed his neck to silence him, then took out a knife and stabbed him forcefully in the groin.

The man instantly passed out.

"That'll make sure you never harm another woman!" Alice said sharply.

Ophelia heard Alice's voice and was both surprised and delighted. "Alice, is that you?"

"It's me, Ophelia. Are you hurt?" Alice helped her up and untied her.

Ophelia shook her head. "I'm fine; he hasn't even touched me yet, but I was really scared. I don't know how many of them there are. Does Henry know about this?"

"Don't be afraid. I'll get you out of here." Alice said, "Henry has an engagement tonight, so I didn't call him. The kidnappers called me and told me to come alone. It's clear they were targeting me. I'm sorry for getting you involved."

Ophelia frowned. "Who could be the mastermind behind this?"

Alice had a suspect in mind but no evidence yet.

She held Ophelia's hand. "I don't know who it is yet, but they'll be caught eventually."

Ophelia nodded. "They definitely will. This is outrageous."

"Ophelia, wait here. No matter what you hear, don't come out, okay?" Alice instructed.

"It's too dangerous. Don't go. Call Henry or the police."

Alice ruffled her hair. "Don't worry, I've been trained."

She handed her phone to Ophelia. "Call the police now and tell them we're at the abandoned parking lot in the eastern suburbs."

"Okay."

Alice stood up and walked to the man, grabbing his hair and dragging him out, closing the door behind her.

In the storage room, Ophelia dialed Henry's number.

Henry said, "Alice, I'll be back soon."

"Henry, it's Ophelia. I've been kidnapped. Alice came to rescue me, and she's fighting the kidnappers outside. Can you come quickly?"

"Do you know where you are?"

"We're at the abandoned parking lot in the eastern suburbs."

"Have you called the police?"

"Not yet."

"Keep your phone charged. I'll call the police. Don't be afraid; I'm on my way."

"Okay."

Outside the parking lot, several men sat around a bonfire, drinking beer and joking.

Hearing footsteps and dragging sounds, they became alert.

"Who's there?" The man with glasses led six others forward.

"Is he dead?"

"This woman did it!"

"Kill her!"

The man with glasses looked at another burly man. "Go outside and see if there are any cops. We'll deal with her."

Then the burly man ran to the door.

Alice pulled the knife from the collapsed man and threw it, hitting the runner in the leg. Then he fell to the ground, screaming in pain.

Six men charged at her.

Alice dodged their knives, grabbed one man's arm, and punched his ribs, making him kneel.

She stepped on his shoulder, leaping up and kicking another man in the face, causing his nose to bleed.

The remaining men surrounded Alice, and the man with glasses rushed into the storage room, dragging Ophelia out.

The men were beaten badly by Alice, writhing in pain on the ground.

The man with glasses held a knife to Ophelia's neck, drawing blood. "Surrender, or I'll kill her!"

Ophelia shouted, "No, don't, Alice!" She then yelled at the man who seized her, "Henry is coming, and he won't let you go!"

The man with glasses hadn't expected his men to be beaten so badly. "Do as I say, or I'll cut her."

Alice raised her hands. "Don't hurt her. I surrender." Then she gradually stepped forward.

"No, Alice!" Ophelia cried.

At that moment, one of the men on the ground struggled to his feet and kicked Alice in the back.

Alice stumbled and lunged at the man with glasses.

His first reaction was to stab her.

Alice grabbed his wrist and twisted it, making him drop the knife. She then pulled him over and quickly moved behind him, breaking his both hands. "Who sent you to kidnap Ophelia?"

The man with glasses gritted his teeth. "I don't know. Someone paid me a million dollars to kidnap her. He used a voice changer and a single-line phone to contact us."

Alice found a phone in his pocket, unlocked it with his thumb, and held it up. "Which number?"

"The fourth one."

Alice saw it was an internet call, needing a computer to trace. She deemed it unnecessary to rush that matter, as the foremost priority was to deal with these miscreants.

She looked at the man who had attacked her. He was limping to the door.

But before he could escape, someone outside kicked him back in.
