Chapter 495 Edward & Moira 40
Chapter 495 Edward & Moira 40
Edward slept very deeply.
Ever since Moira left, he had been suffering from insomnia, getting at most four hours of sleep each night.
After last night's intercourse, he opened his eyes and saw that it was already 7:30.
He sat up, looked around, and called out, "Ms. Sanders?"
However, no one responded.
Edward glanced at the human skin mask on the pillow and instantly understood something.
He changed his clothes and called Vance, "Go check if Moira is in her room."
"Moira?"
Edward gritted his teeth, "You haven't figured out that Edwardina is Moira by now?"
Vance: "I really haven't."
Edward took a deep breath, "Am I a promiscuous person? You're such an idiot! This time, we must find Moira!"
Soon, Vance replied, "Mr. York, Ms. Sanders hired a car at the resort and headed to the airport."
Edward clenched his phone, "That stupid Moira ran away again! Go to the airport with me!"
Vance quickly brought the car, and Edward got into the back seat and called Sterling.
"Edward, what can I do for you?"
"Find Moira for me." Then he described the vehicle the driver was using.
Sterling, "Edward, do you have a grudge against Moira? Why are you so fixated on her? Do you like her?"
Edward gritted his teeth, "Like her? That's ridiculous! She stole something very valuable from me, and I want to catch this thief and make her pay!"
Sterling, "Edward, you really are ruthless. I'll help you find her now. Tell me where she was last seen."
"At the airport, around 4:30."
Sterling clicked his tongue, "She really is a thief, stealing and then running away so early. She must be a habitual thief. What's going on?"
Edward asked, "What's wrong?"
"There are no records of Moira entering or leaving. You said she was at Terminal 3 around 4:30, but I only saw the car; she never appeared. I get it, someone deliberately erased all traces of her. Edward, she has someone powerful behind her!"
Edward was very shocked, and then he thought that the human skin mask wasn't something an ordinary person could have.
He pursed his thin lips, "Then find a way to investigate, or I'll contact Lone Wolf."
Sterling laughed, "Edward, you don't trust me!"
"Correct!"
"Am I not your real brother?"
"No."
Sterling, "Edward, don't doubt my abilities. I can't always lose to Lone Wolf, can I?"
Edward had no mood to argue with him and hung up the phone.
He called Raymond to ask about Moira.
Raymond only said that Moira was hired by him, and since Alice had instructed him, he wouldn't betray a friend.
Edward didn't get any useful information and felt particularly heavy-hearted.
Vance was very nervous, "Mr. York, should we still go to the airport?"
"Yes."
"Understood."
Edward had Vance park the car in an open area outside the airport runway.
He leaned against the car door and started smoking.
One cigarette after another.
He watched planes take off and ascend into the sky, feeling his eyes ache.
If it weren't for that human skin mask, he would have really thought he had just had a dream last night.
Moira!
How could you be so heartless!
I've been looking for you for so long, finally found you, and you left me again.
Seeing happiness slip away like this, his heart felt like it was being stabbed by a dagger.
After finishing an entire pack of cigarettes, Edward glanced at the ground full of cigarette butts, his bloodshot eyes looking particularly sinister.
He opened the car door and got in, "Let's go home."
Back home, Edward took out a bottle of red wine and poured it all down his throat.
One bottle wasn't enough, so he got another and drank himself into a stupor.
For three days straight, he lived like this.
On the fourth day, Edward appeared in front of everyone in a suit and tie, still looking cold and ruthless.
Only Vance knew that Edward had never given up looking for Moira.
And Moira seemed to have vanished into thin air.
Valhalla, a handmade chocolate shop.
Daisy stroked Moira's swollen belly, "Moira, how many more days until the baby is born?"
Moira's black hair was shoulder-length, and her eyes were full of gentleness, "Soon, tomorrow is the due date. I think I'm about to give birth. Daisy, remember, in front of others, you must call me Mom, okay?"
Daisy's eyes lit up, "Okay, but Moira, why aren't you with Edward?"
Moira looked at the wind chimes swaying at the door, "Because I'm not worthy of him. He's the best man in the world."
Daisy sighed and touched her belly, "Poor baby, born without a father's love, but Dad and I will love him."
Moira ruffled her soft hair, "Thank you, Daisy."
Daisy, "We're family, right? But I still like your original appearance."
Moira touched her face, "This is good too."
"You don't want Edward to recognize you, do you?"
"You're so smart!"
"Dad says Edward is a good person, but I'll still help you hide from him."
At this moment, the shop door opened.
Edward walked in.
Moira tightened her grip on Daisy's hand, and Daisy looked at her and excitedly called out, "Mom, this is Edward."
Hearing this title, Edward was stunned, then nodded, "Hello."
Moira nodded slightly, "Hello."
Daisy ran to Edward, "Where's Moira?"
"We're not together anymore. Where's your dad?"
Daisy replied, "That's a shame, I really like Moira. Dad went to check out other store locations, planning to expand. He said my brother is about to be born, so he needs to make more money."
Edward looked at Moira's belly, which seemed to move.
Daisy blinked and took Edward's hand, "Edward, come here."
She placed Edward's hand on Moira's belly, and the baby inside moved again.
Edward quickly withdrew his hand, "Sorry."
Moira lowered her head and shook it, her voice choked, "It's okay."
She never thought that one day, Edward would interact with the baby in her belly.
"Mom, what's wrong?"
Moira seemed too emotional, and the baby inside was moving vigorously. She felt very uncomfortable, and her water broke.
Daisy was frightened, "Mom, Mom, what's wrong?"
Moira reassured her, "It's okay, I'm about to give birth. I'll call your dad to come back."
She called Isaac, but he had a car accident on the overpass and was stuck there.
Edward said, "I'll take you to the hospital."
Moira wanted to refuse, but the contractions came, and her belly started to hurt.
She nodded, "Thank you."
Daisy went to the break room to get the maternity bag, helped Moira out, and locked the shop door.
Edward drove them to the pre-booked maternity hospital.
By the time the car stopped, Moira was in severe pain.
Edward carried her and ran into the hospital.
Soon, Moira was in the delivery room.
When Isaac arrived, he was surprised to see Edward, then looked at Daisy.
Daisy, being smart, quickly ran over to explain the situation.
Isaac shook Edward's hand in gratitude, "Mr. York, you saved Daisy's life and now my wife's. Why don't you help us name the baby?"
Edward smiled, "That's not appropriate."
"It's fine, it's settled."
Two hours later, Moira gave birth to a baby boy.
After another two hours of observation, Moira was pushed back to the ward.
She was surprised that Edward hadn't left.
Isaac quickly said, "Mr. York saved our family. I want him to name the baby."
Moira looked at him gratefully, then at Edward, "It's our honor."
Edward thought for a moment, "Let's call him Matthew."
