Chapter 202 Warm Conspiracy

Chapter 202 Warm Conspiracy

At the dinner table, the four of them chatted while eating.

Inevitably, the conversation turned to Tyrell and Katya.

Charles briefly explained the current progress. Both he and John were working hard to gather evidence of Tyrell's illegal business activities, but the guy was cunning, and the leads kept going cold.

"About Katya," Olivia spoke up with some concern.

"I just feel like she won't let this go."

"Those online rumors—I suspect she's behind them."

Lily immediately chimed in.

"I think it's her too! I've been asking around, and she's been getting cozy with several marketing account studios lately!"

"Plus, she seems to have secretly contacted a few people from Tyrell's side. Very hush-hush."

John's face darkened accordingly.

"That woman just won't leave us alone!"

"Looks like just being defensive isn't enough. We need to take the initiative and catch her red-handed!"

Charles nodded, his eyes sharp.

"Exactly. If she dares to make a move, she'd better be ready to lose that hand."

Seeing the serious expressions on the men's faces, Olivia and Lily exchanged glances, both seeing worry in each other's eyes, but more than that, determination.

They knew this was a battle they had to fight!

For the peaceful life they cherished, and for each other.

"Alright, alright, let's eat first!"

Olivia broke the somewhat heavy atmosphere, raising her glass.

"The four of us together—we've got nothing to fear! Cheers!"

"Cheers!"

After dinner, John and Lily prepared to leave.

At the door, Lily pulled Olivia's hand and said quietly.

"Olivia, you have to be careful. When you go out, have Mr. Green go with you, or call me!"

Olivia patted her hand, touched.

"I know, you too. With John... take care."

She winked at Lily.

Lily's face flushed red, and she shot her a mock glare before turning to follow John out.

Going down the stairs, John naturally took Lily's hand.

Lily struggled slightly but couldn't break free, so she just let him hold it.

The night breeze carried a hint of coolness.

But their clasped hands were warm.

"Lily," John suddenly spoke, his voice especially low in the night.

"Once we get all this mess sorted out, we... start over, okay?"

Lily's steps paused, her heartbeat skipping a beat.

She didn't answer right away, just responded softly, but her fingers quietly tightened, squeezing his hand back.

Some things didn't need to be said too clearly.

The distance between their hearts was slowly closing again.

What they didn't know was that not far behind them, in an inconspicuous black sedan.

Someone was holding a telephoto lens, aimed at their backs as they got into the car, holding hands, and pressed the shutter.

That day, Olivia didn't expect Tyrell to call her.

And using Summit Innovations Group's official number no less, his tone was all business as he asked to meet, saying there was a "collaboration project" he wanted to discuss with her.

Looking at the flashing name on her phone, Olivia's brow furrowed tight.

Collaboration? What good could Tyrell be up to?

Her first instinct was to refuse.

But thinking it over, hiding and avoiding weren't a solution either.

With someone like Tyrell, the more you hide, the more aggressive he might get.

Besides, she really did want to know what trick he was planning this time.

The parking lot incident last time—though there was no direct evidence pointing to him, the "boss" those thugs mentioned always left her suspicious..

After much hesitation, and with that stubborn streak in her bones kicking in, she wanted to see what Tyrell was up to.

So she took a deep breath, answered the call, her voice calm.

"Mr. Baldwin, what is it?"

On the other end, Tyrell seemed to chuckle, his tone actually quite mild.

"Ms. Smith, no need to be so guarded."

"Purely business. I wonder if Ms. Smith would be interested in talking?"

"About the interior design portion of a new cultural landmark. I think your style would be perfect."

He gave her the name of a café and a time—a very stylish place downtown with good privacy.

Olivia thought for a moment and agreed.

"Alright, I've noted the time and place."

After hanging up, she was still quite nervous inside.

She told Charles about it.

As soon as Charles heard, his face darkened, and he said seriously.

"No way! Too dangerous! I won't let you go!"

Olivia grabbed his hand, her eyes determined.

"I know it's dangerous."

"But I think this is an opportunity. I want to ask him face-to-face what exactly he's planning."

"It's better than him being in the shadows while we're exposed, living in constant fear."

"Don't worry, I'll meet him in a public place, broad daylight. He wouldn't dare try anything. And... I'll keep an open call with you the whole time so you can listen in, okay?"

She waved her phone.

"I'll keep an open line with you the whole time so you can listen, okay?"

Charles looked at her stubborn expression and knew he couldn't stop her.

He sighed and pulled her tightly into his arms, his voice muffled.

"You have to be careful. If anything feels off, leave immediately, or give me a signal and I'll be right there!"

"I know, stop nagging, Mr. Green."

Olivia hugged him back, warmth filling her heart.

The next afternoon, Olivia arrived at the café right on time.

Tyrell was already there, sitting in a quiet booth by the window.

Today, he was dressed unusually "normal"—a well-tailored dark gray casual suit, no tie, hair neatly combed, actually looking somewhat like a successful businessman.

But the sharp gleam in those eyes and that scarred eyebrow still carried an inescapable edge of menace.

Seeing Olivia approach, he stood up and, very gentlemanly, pulled out her chair.

"Ms. Smith, you're very punctual."

He smiled, his gaze landing on her face with an undisguised look of appraisal and interest.

Olivia felt uncomfortable under his stare. She nodded coldly and sat across from him, getting straight to the point.

"Mr. Baldwin, what's this collaboration about? Please get to it."

Tyrell smiled and leisurely stirred the coffee in front of him, in no hurry to get to business.

"Ms. Smith is still so... direct. Sitting face-to-face like this, having a proper conversation—honestly, I'm still getting used to it."

His tone carried a hint of jest, trying to lighten the atmosphere.

But Olivia wasn't playing along. She kept her face stern, her eyes bright but guarded, like a prickly hedgehog with its defenses up.

"Mr. Baldwin, there's no need for us to beat around the bush, so just say what you have to say. I'm busy."

Her blunt attitude didn't anger Tyrell at all—instead, it only deepened the interest in his eyes.
