A New Beginning

A New Beginning
Author's POV

"I think it's time for me to go back now. I think we've chatted enough," Isabella said to James as James nodded his head in affirmation.

"Okay, it's fine. I'll be on my way home. I really have to rest. I've had a long day," said Isabella. "Thank you very much, James, for checking on me and for everything," she added.

Meanwhile, her mom was already panicking, looking for her. Immediately she saw Isabella approaching, she rushed up to her.

"We have a princess! Isabella, I've been worried sick about you!"

"Just relax already! I was just chilling with James. He was here earlier," she said to her mom as her mom nodded.

"Okay, just tell me next time where you're going," her mom said. "I've been all worried!"

"Mom, I'll be fine. You don't have to worry," she said to her mom. "And one more thing, Mom, I'm going to school tomorrow. I've missed out on a lot of things. I really need to go back to school."

"You have to wait a bit. You have to relax so that you regain your strength very well. Remember that you just regained consciousness and you are not that strong yet."

"Mom, I'm fine already! I've told you 100 million times that I'm fine, but you wouldn't just leave me! Trisha is at school to take care of me, and I'll be fine. I've missed out on a lot of things, and I need to go to school!" she said to her mom as her mom reluctantly agreed.

The following morning, Isabella was really excited that finally she would go back to school. She had really missed school a lot, and she knew that Trisha would be very happy and surprised that she came to school. She wanted to surprise Trisha, so she immediately dressed up. She wore a very beautiful gown and looked at herself in the mirror, assuring herself that she was looking pretty. She immediately took a bag and headed out, ready to leave for school. She informed her mom that she was leaving already, and her mom bid her goodbye as she went to school.

Upon getting on campus, she looked at the building and shouted, "Wow! Has it been that long since I was last here? It feels like forever!" she muttered to herself as someone hugged her from behind. She immediately turned and saw Trisha standing there.

"Finally, you're back at school! You don't know how happy I am! I've been really bored coming to school alone without you. I had to sit in the cafeteria alone and eat alone without you, Isabella," she said to her, all excited.

"Yes, I wanted to come! Surprising you is why I didn't tell you that I was going to come to school today," she said. "And don't worry, I won't be leaving anymore. We will be together from now on," she said to Trisha as Trisha looked very happy.

"Come on, come on already! Let's get into school!" she said to Isabella as both of them walked hand in hand into the school building.

Meanwhile, James had already submitted his resignation letter right after the meeting. What he didn't know was that the university authority had only wanted to warn him not to try what he did again. Though the counselor wanted to believe him, he didn't want to go back on all those pieces of evidence he saw. He knew that James was not someone who would do something like that.

But every other professor was trying to insist that it was really true that they had been seeing Rachel around James's office. He couldn't ignore all those witnesses and evidence. Though he believed deep down in his heart that James wouldn't do something like that, James had submitted his resignation letter thinking that it would be approved and accepted. He had come to school today only to pack his stuff and leave for good. He didn't want Isabella to know, at least not yet, because he knew she would be very angry.

So he quietly went into his office, packing his things, when the school authority walked right into his office and saw him packing.

"What the hell do you think you are doing, James?" the counselor asked him.

"I'm packing my things. I submitted my resignation letter already."

"And who told you that the resignation letter was approved? Your resignation isn't approved, James. So you're still stuck here in the school. Do you think I called for that meeting just to dismiss you from work? No! I wanted to warn you. There was a lot of evidence and witnesses, James. I couldn't just ignore it. That's why I had to address the matter due to so much persuasion. I know your worth, James, and I'm not going to approve your resignation that easily," he said.

Without even allowing James to reply, he walked out of his office. James stood there stunned. "What? How could he just deny my resignation just like that?" James thought to himself as he sat back down in his chair, frustrated.

As he closed his eyes and rested his head on the table, he was thinking about what the counselor had just told him. Meanwhile, Isabella was inside a classroom. All of her classmates came to ask about her health, and word had already spread that she had gone through an operation. She was surprised as to how many people had come to greet her and ask about her health.

After the formalities ended, everything went on smoothly. It was already time for lunch, and Isabella and Trisha strode to the cafeteria to grab something to eat as Isabella was very hungry. Both of them chatted away happily throughout the day.

Upon getting to the cafeteria, Isabella spotted Rachel immediately and saw that she was sitting alone, eating by herself. Isabella just turned her gaze away, not wanting to look at her. Though she was already feeling pity for her and trying to find a space in her heart to forgive Rachel, she couldn't just do that easily.

She couldn't forget what Rachel had done to her that easily. So she didn't say anything, even though Trisha noticed Isabella looking at Rachel. Trisha didn't want to press the matter because she knew that Isabella was just regaining her strength and recovering, and she didn't want to push the issue.

She knew that with time, Isabella would come around and forgive Rachel sooner or later. Rachel didn't notice that Isabella and Trisha were actually looking at her, as she just sat in silence.

Isabella immediately dragged Trisha to the counter, and they ordered their food. As they walked to a table, they started eating while chatting away happily.
