Chapter 151: The Unraveling Tension
Immediately Lily came out of Isabella's ward, she met the nurse right at the door, ready to open the door to go into the ward as she stumbled back and stammered. “What are you doing? Are you here to check on the patient?” she asked the nurse.
But the nurse looked at her and scoffed. “I know that you came here to harm that patient right now. Why did you come here? What was your motive?” she said to Lily.
As Lily looked at her in surprise, “What do you mean? I came here to harm her. I just came to check on her. I told you already, she's my friend. I just came to check how her health is; that's all. I didn't come to harm her. Who told you I came to harm her?” she said to the nurse fearfully as she felt that her secret was about to be exposed, and she was not ready to go back to jail. Not for this, she thought to herself as she made her way to walk out of the nurse's presence.
But the nurse tried to drag her back but she pushed the nurse out of her way, and the nurse immediately fainted. She immediately walked out of the corridor before anybody would see her, without her knowing that the CCTV camera had already captured her pushing the nurse.
She walked hurriedly out of the hospital and went to a car, opened the car door, and went inside. “Drive off now, immediately. Take me home,” she said to the driver, instilling fear as the driver was shocked at why she had behaved that way.
The driver thought to himself that something must have happened inside, but he didn't dare say a word as he immediately started the engine and drove out of the hospital parking lot. As he drove to Lily's house, she sat in the car thinking about what James had just said to her.
“How could James say those things to me? How could he say such awful words to me despite him knowing how much I love and care for him?” Wow. “James is so lucky that I love him this much. If he was just some random person and said those harsh words to me, I would have sent some guys to beat him up to a pulp,” she thought to herself.
“But I can't do that to James. I love him too much. Why is he driving me crazy this way? Why do I love James so much to this extent that I can't even seem to hurt him? But no worries, I'll hurt Isabella in his place. I'll make sure that she suffers tenfold the pain I'm suffering right now. I can't believe James just said those hurtful words to me,” she thought to herself as she was sitting in the car with her eyes closed.
The driver kept on staring back at her, but she didn't notice as he just shook his head. “I wonder how a parent could bring up his child like this. He has just spoiled this girl too much. She's too aggressive and too rude. She keeps on plotting ways to kill people. Why? She's just a lady. Why would she be thinking of ways to kill people that offended her? I guess she was not trained well; that's why. I bet if her mother was there, her mother wouldn't allow her to behave this way at all. Maybe her stepmother isn't even talking to her properly,” the driver thought to himself as he just shook his head in pity and annoyance for Lily as she just closed her eyes, thinking of ways to make Isabella suffer in place of James.
Soon enough, they drove into Lily's home as she immediately came out of the car without even saying anything, walked into the house immediately with every step as she couldn't wait to get into her bedroom and lie on her bed because her head was throbbing so bad due to the tears she had shed right back at the hospital when James had insulted her.
When she entered, she found her mom sitting right in the parlor as she walked in. She didn't even bother to wait, and her mother stood up and stopped her immediately. “Come back here. Can't you even greet?” she said.
But Lily didn't even act as if she was being talked to as her mom immediately walked to her and held her, dragging her back. “What do you want? Why are you disturbing me?” she said to her mom.
Her mom just ignored everything she was saying. “Where are you coming from? You are supposed to be back here at home an hour ago. What took you so long? Where have you been?” she asked her.
“Why are you asking me so many questions? Do I have to tell you everywhere I am going? I just went to settle some matter,” she said to her mom sarcastically and scoffed.
“Why do you even need to know where I went to, and why am I even explaining myself to you? Let go of my hand right now,” she said to her mom.
As her mom released her hand, she was about to walk out of her presence, she remembered something and walked back. She looked her mom directly in the eyes and said to her, “And don't forget I remember what you did to me when I was in the prison ward. You didn't accept to help me, and I promise you I'm giving you just seven days; you will leave my father's house,” she said to her mom.
“And don't think of this as an empty threat. I really mean it. I'll chase you out of this house in just seven days. You try me,” she said to her mom.
As her mom stumbled back in shock and fell on the sofa, Lily just scoffed and walked straight upstairs into her room. Soon enough, her father walked in right at that moment and saw Lily's mother sitting there in shock as he approached her and touched her.
