Chapter 49 I Love Your Daughter

Chapter 49 I Love Your Daughter
James's P.O.V.

I stand near the staircase, sipping my whiskey as my eyes scan the elegantly decorated hall. The chandelier overhead illuminates the room in a golden glow. The voices of people conversing is mixing with the melody playing in the background. Guests move around me, greeting me, but none of them interest me.

I'm waiting for her. The most gorgeous woman.

My Selena.

She's upstairs in her room, getting ready—because I made her late. I smirk, thinking how she was giving me pleasure with her soft tits. Fuck, that was the hottest thing on this planet.

Her tits pressed together, swinging just a little with each movement—pure temptation in motion. God, she drives me crazy.

And when she crawls towards me. Damn! Now I’m getting hard again just thinking about the way she did it, eyes full of submission and heat, like I was the only man that’s ever existed for her.

And fuck, I am.

No one else gets to see that side of her. No one else even comes close. That beautiful, filthy side of her is mine only.

God! I feel so lucky.

Now I just can't wait to see her all dressed up. Every second without her feels like an eternity. I adjust the cuffs of my black suit as my fingers itch to touch her, to hold her. I want her in my arms, against me, under me.

Then, as if the universe finally takes mercy on me, the moment I've been waiting for arrives. I hear heels clicking on the marble floor.

I look up.

And there she is.

Descending the staircase like a fucking dream.

Her white dress hugs every curve I’ve worshipped with my hands and mouth. That diamond necklace around her neck sparkles, but it’s not the jewelry that catches my eye—it’s the way her eyes search for me. Like I'm the only one who matters in this room.

And I am.

Our eyes lock. She sees it in my face—the hunger, the claim, the promise of what I’ll do to her when we’re finally alone again.

And the blush rising in her cheeks tells me she recalls the way I marked her mine a few minutes ago.

My seed is still on her soft skin under that tight dress, hidden from everyone. But I know. And that alone sends a wave of possessive pride through me. My dick grows harder in my pants with desire.

God, I love this. The secrecy. The thrill. The unspoken claim I have over her.

She is mine. Only mine.

I watch every man in the room as they turn their heads to look at her, lust clear in their eyes. My grip on the glass tightens. They can look all they want, but none of them can have her.

Because she’s my girl—mine to touch, and only I get to do every dirty thing with her.

I want so badly to hold her by the waist and pull her close, to tell everyone at this party that she’s mine. But I can’t—not yet. Not with her parents here.

I didn’t tell Denver yet about us although I wanted to because I don’t want her to lose her parents again because of me. I really don’t. In recent few months, I’ve seen her so happy that I’m scared to ruin it. Scared that if I say the wrong thing at the wrong time, she’ll be forced to choose between me and them.

And I never want to put her in that position.
She deserves this—this light in her eyes, this peace in her smile, the feeling of being loved by her family. She’s craved it all her life, and now that she finally has it, I won’t be the one to take it away.

Even if it kills me to keep my hands off her in public.

Even if every second I stand here watching her from afar drives me insane.

She reaches downstairs, and my eyes drift down to her breasts as I smirk. She shoots me a look, silently telling me to stop staring at her like that in public. But I can’t help it.

Not when she’s near me. My mind keeps replaying what just happened in her room.

As I keep my gaze fixed on her tits, her cheeks flush, and she quickly glances around.

But no one knows. No one knows how I worship her behind closed doors. How she surrenders to me completely. No one knows that right now, beneath that elegant dress, she’s still carrying a sinful reminder of what we did just minutes ago.

Then her parents approach, and she gets busy with them. Denver gifts her a new car, and she lights up like a kid. I’m happy too—happy that she’s finally getting the love and attention she deserves. I grin, watching her receive everything she’s always craved.

And it’s not about the presents she’s getting from them—the thing that makes her happiest is their love, their attention, the warmth she’s longed for since she was a little girl.

She clutches the car keys to her chest and leans in to hug Denver. I can see her eyes sparkle, and that real smile spreads across her face—the kind of smile she only shows when she’s not pretending.

And damn, seeing that? It fucking breaks me and heals me all at once.

I want to be up there with her. I want to wrap my arm around her and tell her I’m proud of her, that I love her, that she deserves every bit of this happiness and more. But I can’t. Not yet. So I stay back. Watching. Waiting. Burning.

After that, Zoe and Stella show up with their boyfriends, hugging her and wishing her happy birthday. She laughs with them—beautiful and carefree. Her eyes still flick to me every now and then, like she’s checking to make sure I’m still there. I am, baby. I’m not going anywhere.

I wish I could be next to her, hold her hand, stand behind her with my palm resting low on her waist like a silent warning to the world that she’s taken. I wish I could kiss her temple while everyone’s watching, show them that she’s mine and I’m hers.

They tease Selena—about me, I’m sure. Because they already know about our secret relationship. But the rest of the world still thinks I’m just a family friend. A successful businessman. Not the man who makes her scream my name behind the doors. Not the man who’s ruined her for anyone else.

Soon, they’ll all know.

I’ll make sure of it.

She cuts the cake a few minutes later. The entire hall cheers, sings to her, flashes cameras. And she... she looks at me. Like I’m the only one she wants to share this moment with. Like her birthday won’t feel complete until she gets to celebrate it with me.

She feeds the first bite to her parents, then her friends. But her eyes, they keep searching for me through the crowd, making me feel like the luckiest man in the room.

Like no matter how many people surround her, no matter how much love she’s finally getting from her parents—I'm still the one she wants.

And that feeling? It wrecks me.

Because I know she means it.

Her gaze stays on me, filled with longing. As if she’s already imagining slipping away from all of this, just to be in my arms again.

Fuck, I want to go to her. Grab her hand, pull her close, steal that moment we’re both dying for. But I can’t right now.

So instead, I raise my glass slightly in her direction in a room full of people who have no idea what’s going on between us.

And the way her lips curl into a small, secret smile?

Yeah. That’s just for me.

When her friends dance with their special ones on a romantic song, we both want to dance too. But we just stare at each other from across the room, her eyes expression filled with sadness.

God, I just can’t see her like this. I have to do something.

I walk toward her and stand beside her. After bending down, I whisper in her ear, “At night we’ll dance. Don’t get sad, little miss.”

She looks at me with a small smile.

“And yeah,” I add, “I have a birthday surprise for you.”

“I can’t wait.” Her eyes sparkle with excitement, and that’s what I wanted.

Fuck.

All I want right now is to pull her against me, kiss her hard in front of everyone. But all I can do is clench my fists and keep my distance, even when her presence is driving me out of my mind.

After the party, I’m sitting on the barstool at the counter with Denver, drinking.

We’re talking business—well, he is. I’m only half listening, my mind still stuck on the way Selena looked tonight, how good she made me feel hours ago, and how much I’m dying to claim her again.

Then Denver says something that snaps every ounce of control in me.

“So, James… what do you think about Mr. William’s son for Selena?”

I nearly drop my glass, feeling a deep rage within me.

What the fuck?

Does he have any idea what he’s just said?

Selena is mine. Mine to love. Mine to ruin. Mine to protect.

And I won’t waste another damn second keeping that a secret.

I turn to him, my eyes burning, and without a second, I just tell him, “Denver, I love your daughter, and I want to marry her.”

He stares at me, stunned.

And I brace myself—for whatever’s coming next.

Because hiding is over. And I’m not letting her go. Not now. Not ever. Whatever happens, I’ll fight for us.
