Chapter 91 Quiet and Sweet

Chapter 91 Quiet and Sweet

If there wasn't a traitor within the company, then it had to be Cassidy who did it.

Was it really Cassidy?

Did she leak the confidential documents to get back at him?

Easton was suspicious of Cassidy, but he didn't want to doubt her.

He rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on, and then proposed a solution to the project team, urging them to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

By the time he finished everything and returned to the villa, it was already late at night, and Cassidy was fast asleep.

The curtains in the room were not drawn, and the moonlight streamed in, illuminating Cassidy's sleeping face.

Cassidy looked peaceful and sweet in her sleep, with no trace of hostility on her face.

Easton stood by the bed quietly, watching her, not waking her up or reaching out to touch her.

Cassidy wasn't in a deep sleep. The sound of Easton coming in woke her, but she was too tired to fully wake up.

She thought Easton would get into bed and sleep, but after a while, she felt a burning gaze on her, making her uncomfortable.

She opened her eyes, ready to ask Easton what he wanted, but he pulled her up abruptly.

"What's wrong?"

Her voice was muffled with sleepiness.

Easton held her tightly in his arms. "Nothing."

He didn't tell Cassidy about the company's issues or ask if she was involved in the leak.

On the way back, he had imagined various scenarios of questioning Cassidy and her possible reactions.

But all those thoughts vanished when he saw her sleeping face.

He couldn't find a reasonable explanation to believe Cassidy was involved.

Cassidy had no reason to do such a thing.

In the eyes of the Cooper family, she was already considered dead. She had no reason to ruin the project or stop him from taking that position.

After all, Cassidy never wanted that position.

Most importantly, Cassidy had always been kept away, with no chance to contact the rival company.

Since Cassidy wasn't the one who leaked the information, he had to rethink who else could have done it.

Who would benefit the most from destroying this project?

Cassidy didn't know what Easton was thinking. She only knew she was exhausted and couldn't fall into a deep sleep.

Now, being suddenly pulled up by Easton made her angry. "What are you doing?"

Easton was holding her too tightly, making her uncomfortable. She pushed against him. "Let go."

Easton kissed her forehead before releasing her.

He took off his clothes and got into bed, pulling Cassidy into his arms.

His body was cold, making Cassidy's sleepiness fade away.

"Easton, let go of me."

He was too cold; she didn't want to sleep holding him!

But the more she struggled, the tighter Easton held her.

Maybe she struggled too much, Easton pinned her legs down, gripping her waist and whispering a threat in her ear.

"Move again, and you won't sleep tonight."

With that, Easton pressed his hips against Cassidy's butt.

Feeling his hardness, Cassidy immediately stopped moving, lying still in bed.

Easton then held her tightly and closed his eyes to sleep.

The next day at the office, Easton called all the department heads into the conference room.

He had to find out who leaked the bid price; he couldn't keep a traitor close to him.

But after questioning everyone, Easton found no suspicious individuals.

Initially, he suspected someone tampered with the surveillance, but after checking, there were no issues.

He had thought about the motives of the department heads, but concluded they had no reason to do such a thing.

Failing to secure the project hurt everyone's interests; they had no reason to sabotage it.

No one had touched the confidential files in his office, so who leaked the bid price?

Easton pondered for a long time, recalling everyone he had interacted with recently. The only suspect left was Ryder.

Ryder was the most upset when Easton took the interim director position.

Ryder had secretly bribed many people to get that position, but lost to Easton because of the five votes Cassidy left behind. How could Ryder be content?

He didn't want Easton to take that position and would do anything to stop him.

Given Ryder's knowledge of Easton, it was entirely possible he guessed the bid price and used it to gain benefits from the rival company, which fit Ryder's character perfectly.

Easton didn't expect Ryder to be so cunning.

To address the mistake, Easton sternly warned all staff involved in the project.

He had devised a solution, and if it failed, the responsible staff would have to resign.

Easton's decisions were final. To keep their jobs, everyone had to work more diligently.

Overtime became more frequent, and the company's atmosphere grew tense.

During this time, Easton returned to the villa late every night, leaving no time for sex with Cassidy, allowing Cassidy to have some rest.

While Easton worked hard to fix the mistake, Cassidy was preparing for her escape.

To gain Easton's trust, Cassidy gradually stopped rejecting him, making him believe she was letting go of her escape plans and starting to accept him.

Her range of activities slowly expanded from the master bedroom to the entire villa.

Easton's only requirement was that she stay within the villa.

Cassidy adhered to this rule well.

This change made Easton happy. He thought Cassidy might soon willingly stay by his side.

Then, he could create a new identity for her and make her his wife.

This routine continued for five days. The project issue was finally resolved, and Easton gave several key staff members a two-day break, deciding to rest himself.

When Easton returned to the villa, Cassidy was lounging on the couch, watching TV.

Hearing the noise behind her, Cassidy turned and smiled faintly. "You're back!"

Seeing her smile, Easton felt all his fatigue melt away.

He strode over, grabbed Cassidy by the neck, and pulled her close for a kiss.

His tongue traced her lips, and when Cassidy couldn't help but open her mouth, he slipped his tongue inside, gently but firmly entangling with hers.

She tilted her head back, accepting his kiss, as saliva slowly dripped from the corner of her mouth.
