Chapter 34 The confirmation
~Sage~
He peeled them down my legs slowly, his lips following the path of exposed skin. By the time he finished, I was trembling, every nerve in my body alight with anticipation.
"You're beautiful," he said, looking up at me from where he knelt between my thighs. "The most beautiful thing I've ever seen."
I pulled him back up to me, kissing him deeply as his body settled over mine. The weight of him felt right. Perfect. Like puzzle pieces clicking into place.
“Please, Keith…” I whimpered. “I need you.”
Something fierce flashed in his eyes at that. He pressed kisses to each inch of newly exposed skin. My thighs. My knees. My calves. By the time he finished, I was trembling with anticipation.
He stood, shedding his own jeans before joining me on the bench. It was cold against my back, but Keith was so warm above me that I barely noticed.
"We'll go slow," he reminded me, positioning himself between my thighs. "Tell me what feels good. Tell me if anything hurts."
I nodded, unable to form words. The anticipation was killing me. My wolf was howling inside, straining toward him with everything she had.
He entered me halfway carefully, watching my face for any sign of discomfort. There was pressure at first, unfamiliar and strange, but not painful. He'd prepared me well, and my body welcomed him like it had been waiting for this moment.
"You okay?" he asked through gritted teeth, clearly holding himself back.
I nodded, the tight tension in my center slowly fading away.
He pushed in another inch and waited when I squirmed a bit, letting my body adjust to his girth.
“Fuck,” he groaned, “You're so tight and warm. You're gripping me just right.”
Another tiny push and I gasped. I wrapped my legs tighter around his waist, attempting to draw him in.
"More," I breathed. "Please, Keith. More."
He sank deeper into me, and I gasped at the fullness. It was overwhelming in the best way. Like finding a piece of myself I hadn't known was missing.
"You feel incredible," he groaned against my neck. "Like you were made for me."
We began to move together, finding a rhythm that built slowly. Keith was true to his word, keeping the pace gentle despite the tension I could feel thrumming through his muscles. Every thrust sent pleasure rippling through me, and soon I was clutching his shoulders, pulling him deeper.
"That's it," he murmured encouragingly. "Let yourself feel it. Let go for me."
Something was building inside me. A pressure that grew with every movement, every kiss, every whispered word. My wolf was right at the surface now, straining toward release.
"Keith," I gasped. "I think I'm going to—"
"Let it happen," he urged, his own breathing ragged. "I've got you. Let go."
The pleasure crested and broke like a wave. I cried out, my back arching off the bench, and felt my wolf surge forward in triumph. Keith groaned against my neck, his movements becoming more urgent as he chased his own release.
I felt his teeth graze my skin. Sharper now than they should be. His wolf was right there, pushing to the surface.
Keith's breathing grew ragged against my neck. His movements became more urgent. I felt his wolf pushing to the surface, and felt the moment his control started to slip.
"Sage," he gasped. "I can't... my wolf..."
"Let him out." I pulled his face to mine, staring into eyes that were flickering between blue and gold. "I'm not afraid."
He grunted and his eyes closed momentarily. When they opened, they'd gone fully golden.
The change in him was immediate. His grip on my hips tightened, his movements becoming almost animalistic in their intensity. He began pounding into me, his ground remixing with my soft moans. I matched him beat for beat, my own wolf rising to meet his, and the pleasure building inside me became something more. Something cosmic.
When he kissed my neck again, I felt his teeth graze my skin. Sharper now. Longer. His wolf was right there, right at the surface, and my wolf was calling to him.
Begging him.
"Do it," I whispered, not even sure what I was asking for. "Keith, please—"
His teeth sank into my neck.
For a moment, pain flashed in my head but it was immediately swallowed by a wave of pleasure so intense I cried out. I felt my blood on his tongue, felt the moment he tasted me, and then—
Everything exploded.
It was like lightning striking my soul. A bond snapped into place between us, and suddenly I could feel him. Not just his body against mine, but his emotions, his wolf, his very essence. He was inside me in every way possible, and I was inside him, and we were connected on a level that went beyond physical.
Mates.
The word echoed through my mind, through the bond, and I knew Keith felt it too. His wolf howled in triumph, and my wolf answered, and for one perfect moment we weren't two people anymore. We were one being, one soul split into two bodies, finally reunited.
Keith pulled back from my neck, his mouth stained with my blood. His eyes were still golden, but there was shock there now, layered with wonder and something that looked like fear.
"Sage," he breathed. "Oh god, Sage, I felt it. You're truly my—"
"Mate." I reached up to touch my neck, feeling the wound already beginning to heal. But it would scar. Mate bites always scarred. "I'm your mate."
He stared at me, his chest heaving, still hovering above me in the darkness. "I've known since the that day. My wolf knew. But this... I can feel you inside me now. Your heartbeat. Your emotions, everything."
I could feel him too. The fierce protectiveness. The desire still burning hot beneath his skin. The terror at what we'd just done and what it would mean.
"Damon is going to kill us," I whispered.
