Chapter 103 Lucifiel's pov
Chapter 103 Lucifiel's pov
"Are you out of your mind?" Levi kept staring at me without bating an eye."That's not happening on my watch."
"Again I support him. I won't goo through all that to protect you just to watch you use yourself as a sacrificial lamb." Derek added.
It was the one time we've simply agreed on something solidly. There was no way I was letting him be the bait to some sociopathic killer seeking attention.
"But that's my decision , not yours."
This time I was convinced Levi enjoys the chaos. "Your life belongs to me , so unless you don't want it no more you're not getting involved in any of this. If Rahul can't come up with something good, Kael should give it a goal or we wait for the killer to find us."
I had come close to losing him multiple times the past months, I wasn't going to risk it again.y life. Would probably be a waste without him in it at this point, but he doesn't need to know that yet.
“What if it starts going after people close to me?” Levi asked.
“Everyone in this room is already close to you. Come back to your senses.”
Levi stared at me like I was babbling.
This stubborn little chaos actually looked like he thought he was being reasonable. That annoyed me even more.
Rahul leaned against the dining table. “The problem is that the killer isn’t targeting random people.”
“I am very much aware of that.”
“Then you should also be aware that anyone that ever had contact with Levi would be in danger.”
I already knew that. That was exactly why I hated this plan. Because if Rahul was right, putting Levi out in the open wasn’t bait—it was handing him directly to whatever monster was hunting him. And I had spent months preventing exactly that from happening.
I looked toward Kael. “Do you support this madness?”
Kael rubbed the back of his neck. “No.”
That surprised me, I thought he was going to support Rahul. While Levi looked disappointed, he was probably hoping Keal would support him.
Kael continued. “I understand why Rahul suggested it. I even understand why Levi wants to do it.” His eyes shifted toward Levi. “But understanding something and liking it aren’t the same thing.”
Finally, someone with common sense. “Thank you.”
Kael ignored me. “If we use Levi as bait and something goes wrong, we lose the only person every faction is currently fighting over.”
“Exactly.”
“And if we do nothing?” nobody said a wordd.Kael sighed. “More people die.”
Levi folded his arms. “Then why are we still arguing?”
Derek looked at him like he had lost his mind, which I believe he has.“Because normal people don’t volunteer to become murder bait.”
“Do I look normal to you? And besides, I wouldn't be alone.”
"You volunteered to be murder bait. Answer your own question.” I said.
“That is not helping your argument at all.” Dere muttered.
Levi pointed toward me. “I have him.”
Derek groaned. And somehow I was the only person who understood how dangerous that sentence actually was. My chest swell with pride but at the same time I wanted to spank Levi back to his senses. He believed it completely without any form of hesitation or doubt. The idiot genuinely believed that as long as I was nearby, nothing could happen to him. Which was accurate. The fact that he still trusted me after everything should have relieved me. Instead it only made the guilt worse.
My gaze drifted toward him. Levi looked tired and frustrated from trying to make us see his point. Most humans would have fallen apart months ago but Levi was still sitting here arguing with me. I blamed myself. A large part of me would always blame myself. Because if I had killed Adrian when I had the chance, half of these problems would not exist.
The memory immediately surfaced. Adrian bleeding and looking half dead on that ground. I had every opportunity to remove him permanently from this world. I should have, but I had listened to Levi instead. He had looked at me with those impossible eyes and asked me not to do it. So I didn’t.
At the time I convinced myself it was the correct decision. Now? Now I wasn’t sure. Because Adrian kept surviving. And every time he survived, more people ended up dead.
“What?”
“Nothing.”
“That wasn’t a nothing face.”
I ignored him. "I really should have killed Voss from the start."
Levi shook his head. “You can’t solve every problem by killing people.”
“I can solve quite a few.”
“Lucifiel.”
“I’m serious.”
I wasn’t joking. If Adrian was standing in front of me right now, breathing wouldn't be an option because every disaster somehow led back to him. And I was tired of it.
Rahul suddenly stood. “I need air.
Rahul headed toward the balcony. Several seconds later Derek followed. Neither of them seemed aware they were proving Levi correct.
Levi caught my expression. A grin appeared immediately. He looked far too pleased with himself. Apparently Derek and Rahul's inability to communicate had become entertainment. They were both acting like teanagers in a Secret relationship.
“you. Should focus on yourself before trying to. Build other people's relationships"
Levi looked offended.
The balcony door closed behind Derek. Levi’s grin widened. Just a second ago I thought he was angry. “You saw it too.”
I refused to answer.
“I am leaving.” Kael stood immediately.
Levi laughed.
I wouldn't forgive myself if something happened to Levi. The thought dragged me back into the conversation immediately. I looked at Rahul through the balcony glass.
A terrible realization began forming—one I hated, one I wanted to reject.
The killer wasn’t attacking because Levi was vulnerable. The killer was attacking because Levi was protected. Every move demanded attention and it felt like a challenge. Or rather an invitation.
And eventually the killer would come directly for Levi whether we agreed or not.
I hated that thought. Because it meant Rahul might actually be right—not about using Levi as bait, never that, but about one thing: waiting wasn’t helping.
I rubbed my forehead then sighed. “We need more information.”
" Does that mean you're accepting it?" Sometimes I forget he is smart because of all his terrible life choices.
Derek returned at that exact moment.
“What happened?” he said after looking at Levi's grinning face.
“Nothing.”
I knew in the back of my mind that despite all my frustration, anger, growing certainty that Levi would eventually force me to consider Rahul’s plan—one truth remained unchanged. No killer, prophecy or ancient enemy. Nothing in existence was going to touch him. Not while I was still breathing.
And if the person behind all of this wanted Levi badly enough to start a war… then they were about to discover why people had feared my name long before Levi was ever born.
