Chapter 293: The Belated Wedding

Chapter 293: The Belated Wedding

The helicopter had limited space.

Tyler was left behind once again.

He watched the bra, blown open by the wind and sand, lying alone on the beach.

Tyler smiled helplessly.

Actually, it really wasn't that bad.

Della had been quite clingy lately.

Maybe they had both figured things out.

Maybe Della never really liked James that much—it was more about the thrill of conquest.

Maybe it was Tyler's personal charm that he himself wasn't even aware of...

When Emily and James returned to the beach, it was crowded with people.

Kumb and Bianca's eyes were slightly red, clearly having already caught up.

Seeing Emily come off the boat, they pulled her into their arms and gently comforted her.

Kumb, who had planned to take Emily straight back to Lumaria, was still stunned when he saw James walk off the boat.

Wasn't he supposed to be unconscious?

Kumb had even prepared excuses to trick Emily into coming back, but James was awake?

Could it be that Emily taking him out to sea actually resulted in a miracle?

"Father! Why did you come? Where's Princess Arian?"

Emily collected herself and asked.

"She didn't come. As a direct member of the royal family, she has to go through diplomatic channels, and the approval process is complicated."

Kumb glanced at James.

"All better now?"

Emily nodded, her face slightly flushed.

Bianca raised an eyebrow in surprise.

As a woman, she could tell that this time the way Emily and James looked at each other was clearly different.

Their intimate relationship had obviously grown closer.

Not just Bianca—Layla and Briar, who were gathered around James, noticed it too.

They smiled teasingly at Emily.

Emily pressed her lips together, too embarrassed to speak.

James walked out from the crowd, took Emily's hand, and stood before Kumb.

"Father."

Kumb was about to refuse.

Emily looked at Kumb with pleading eyes. Kumb swallowed the words on his lips and snorted coldly.

"Come with me. Everyone else, don't follow."

Kumb drove James and Emily along the coastal highway.

James was familiar with this road.

The first time he met Emily, she had driven along this road and ended up stuck in her car late at night.

"Been here before?"

Kumb asked.

"Yes, Emily brought me here. Later, when there was trouble at the rubber plantation, I came again."

"I heard you were the last person to see Mia?"

"Yes, she saved me."

Kumb stood in front of a white house with a red roof, not going inside.

"James."

"Yes."

"Been inside?"

"Yes."

James looked around.

He suddenly understood why Kumb had deliberately brought him to the rubber plantation.

He even deliberately mentioned "Mia."

It seemed Kumb wanted to trade these "favors" for conditions.

But as long as he didn't have to be separated from Emily, James would agree to any condition.

Kumb seemed to have been building up to this for a long time.

"I still can't remember. Actually, I have no right to ask you to do anything—after all, you don't owe me. But seeing Emily and thinking of Mia, I can't just do nothing."

"Yes, Prince Kumb, just say it directly. I think I'll agree."

"Come back to Lumaria with me—would you be willing?"

James laughed softly.

He turned to face the sunlight.

He asked quietly,

"Do you regret it?"

"What?"

Kumb was stunned.

"Prince Kumb, do you think that because I'm a Duke of the Frank Empire and the head of the Smith Group, I'd be reluctant to give up my power and wealth, so you're using 'returning to Lumaria' to test my feelings for Emily? But actually, I want to say—since you never regretted staying in Lumaria for Princess Arian back then, I won't regret it either. Because I love Emily even more than you imagine. I can't live without her. I've gone to great lengths, I've deceived her, hidden things from her—all of this was to be with her. As long as I can be with her, I'll go anywhere and do anything."

Seeing James's determined eyes, Kumb finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"Prince Kumb, you lost. Looks like the wedding will be held in Emerald City."

Cleo and Ruby, along with a group of noble ladies, walked out from behind the house.

James thought for a moment and realized Cleo must have made a bet with Kumb.

Clearly, Cleo had won.

When Emily arrived at the rubber plantation in Layla and Briar's car, the plantation was being organized by a large group of people in tuxedos.

There were many people, all busy, but you could tell they had a plan.

As soon as Emily arrived, she was surrounded by a group of people and led up to the second floor of the white building.

"What's going on?!"

"Emily, please don't talk. We don't have much time."

A fashionably dressed stylist walked in carrying a makeup bag.

Behind her was a large group of staff carrying dress boxes.

In less than two hours, the venue, makeup, bride and groom, bridesmaids and groomsmen, and the wedding party were all ready.

Emily was confused the whole time.

"When was all this prepared?"

Emily was surrounded by people as she walked onto the red carpet, quietly asking Kumb.

Kumb stroked the hand holding his arm and looked down at Emily, standing tall and graceful, his eyes slightly red.

"Emily, if that boy hadn't given me a satisfactory answer today, I wouldn't have given him this wedding so easily. But, child, I have to say, James truly loves you. I'm very happy you can love each other. So please allow me to personally give you away to him."

Hearing Kumb's words, Emily's eyes reddened too.

"Don't cry, child. The priest is smiling at you up ahead."

James:

I solemnly declare that I know of no legal reason why I cannot marry you.

Today, before God and all our loved ones, I take you, Emily, as my lawful wife.

Whether rich or poor, in sickness or in health, I will love you and cherish you until the end of my life.

I promise to be faithful to you, to be by your side through every joy and sorrow, to respect you, honor you, and to treasure you as this gift from heaven for the rest of my life.

I love you, Emily.

Emily:

I declare with all sincerity that I know of no legal reason to prevent me from marrying you.

Before God and our beloved family and friends, I take you, James, as my lawful husband.

Whether in good times or bad, in sickness or in health, I will love you and cherish you until the end of my life.

I vow to trust you, support you, and love you unconditionally,

to walk with you through every season of life, holding your hand, from this moment until forever.

I love you, James.

Their vows were solemn and sincere. Everyone present was moved to tears but tried to hold them back. Then a funny scene happened—everyone grabbed the person next to them and, without even looking, pulled them into a hug, wiping their tears on each other's shoulders.

Only David was roaring:

"Damn it, Nicholas! You're hugging my wife! Let go of Briar!! Or I'll punish you! I'll steal your daughter..."

The bouquet was tossed toward the next happy couple, witnessed by the priest and God.

And the currently happiest couple, James and Emily, embraced and kissed amid everyone's blessings.
