Chapter 245

Chapter 245
Lily's POV
"Why didn't you tell me about this earlier?" I looked at Beatrice, my gaze somewhat accusatory.
Beatrice hesitated before explaining, "Because you were going through a difficult time too. Tristan told me not to bother you with this."
"Where is Tristan now?"
"In the hospital."
William and I immediately went to the hospital together.
Coincidentally, it was the same hospital where I had stayed for my seafood allergy, yet somehow we had never crossed paths.
I went to Tristan's room, where Henry was feeding him water. When they saw me approach, they both exchanged guilty glances.
"Well, still drinking, I see." I didn't say much, but the coldness in my eyes was frightening.
Tristan smiled somewhat obsequiously. "Lily, what brings you here?"
"If I hadn't been tipped off, how would I know you're hanging a leg up in here?"
Tristan's injuries were relatively serious—one foot appeared broken and was suspended in the air, looking somewhat comical. "I'm just recuperating properly. Trying to get back soon so I won't miss more work."
The next second, Tristan glanced behind me at Beatrice and glared at her, seemingly questioning why she had revealed this information.
"Stop glaring at her. If she hadn't told me and I found out later, I would have scolded her too."
My words were ice-cold. Beatrice seemed frightened, hiding behind me and not daring to speak.
"Tell me exactly what happened. Why?"
"Lily, before the police took that person away, she kept saying it wasn't her idea—that someone from another production crew had instructed her. She didn't know it would turn into such a big deal, so..."
I frowned. "So you went to confront them?"
Tristan rubbed his nose. "I was just angry that Beatrice was being framed. You don't know, but Michael actually went with me. The kid's different—he didn't get injured at all and even knocked down several guys on their side."
"What about you? Why didn't you knock anyone down?"
Tristan swallowed. "I was a bit useless, but we still had some advantage. Unfortunately, their security guards came later and threw us out..."
I found the image of the two of them being thrown out rather embarrassing.
"You two grown men, already adults, yet still so childish. Especially you, Tristan—so immature that even your son would laugh at you."
Tristan coughed lightly. "My son already visited me. He called me a hero."
At this moment, William suddenly put his arm around my shoulder and said coolly, "Our son won't be this foolish in the future."
I nodded in agreement.
Tristan: "???"
"I won't let them get away with beating you up like this!" Looking at his swollen foot, a hint of coldness flashed in my eyes.
"Well..." Beatrice tried to say something from behind me but received a glare from Tristan, who quickly replaced it with a smile. "It's fine, really, it's nothing..."
I glanced back at Beatrice. "You tell me."
"Actually, Tristan's foot... he twisted it himself after returning."
Tristan's face turned bright red. "Alright, stop exposing my embarrassing secrets."
I couldn't help it—I burst out laughing.
"Stop laughing, I know it's funny."
Indeed, it was quite amusing that he hadn't been injured in the fight but had twisted his ankle on the way back.
As we talked, the entire room erupted in laughter.
The atmosphere gradually warmed, and I decided not to press the matter further.
After chatting with Tristan, William and I returned to the hotel, while Beatrice went back to the set with Henry to continue filming.
William noticed I seemed distracted and asked, "What's wrong?"
"This is most likely Emily's doing. I don't want to let her off easily." My eyes darkened, my voice turning cold.
"What do you plan to do?" William asked.
I rubbed my chin and said calmly, "I want to teach their production crew a lesson."
William raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"
"You'll see."
I smiled slightly, already formulating a plan in my mind.

Emily's POV
The next day
At noon, I posted an update on Facebook.
I had developed acne on my face and shared medical proof from the hospital. It probably wouldn't clear up for ten days to two weeks, so I couldn't work normally, and filming would have to be delayed.
I had intended to use this situation to gain some attention and sympathy.
But someone started a trend, commenting: "If she can't film, just replace her."
This immediately triggered a wave of reactions.
One comment led to thousands more, with people engaging in heated debates.
"I think Emily's acting skills are actually poor. Look at those few dramas she's been in—they're terrible. Even dogs wouldn't watch them!"
"Emily doesn't even have a distinctive look. Maybe it's just me, but I really don't get what's special about her."
I trembled with anger. I woke up to find mysterious red spots on my face, had to stay in the hospital, delaying filming, and now there were so many people insulting me online!
As I was feeling miserable, Samuel suddenly called.
I looked at his name flashing on the screen, feeling irritated.
"Hello, what is it, Samuel?"
Samuel's voice contained a hint of urgency, though he concealed it well. "What happened to you? And what's with all the online backlash?"
I complained pitifully, "I don't know either. I just woke up like this. But those online comments—this must be Lily's doing. Her goal is to suppress me!"
"Have you considered that your facial acne might also be Lily's doing?"
I frowned. "That seems unlikely. Lily should be in New York right now. Besides, she couldn't possibly have that kind of power, could she?"
Samuel laughed coldly. "You should know that Lily isn't as simple as you think. You have no idea how many identities she has behind the scenes! And by the way, she's in Germany right now."
My expression darkened. "Even if Lily has incredible abilities, she couldn't possibly do something to my face. I just checked with the doctor, and he said I'm allergic to some plant. It should be..."
"What if I told you Lily is a doctor? And a very skilled one at that."
My eyes instantly turned vicious. "I understand now. What should I do?"
"Don't make a fuss. Just stay in the hospital and recover for now. I'll help you resolve this when the time comes."
Hearing that Samuel would help me, my voice immediately softened. "Samuel, thank goodness for you. Without you, I wouldn't know what to do..."
Samuel replied, "In that case, come meet me tonight. I'm in Germany now."
I naturally understood his meaning. The "meeting" he suggested was definitely not an ordinary one, but rather...
"You're so bad."
I pretended to be coy, while inwardly feeling disgusted.
Once I've dealt with that bitch Lily, I'll dump this useless Samuel and drug William!
Once I have his child, I don't believe he won't marry me!
