Chapter 100 100
Chapter 100 100
Jay guides them past a longgggg line of people waiting to get inside.
Through the building, up a few small steps to a section that’s away from the overcrowded main floor two guys Dylan vaguely recognizes are already at a round table looking out over the dance floor getting closer.
He's positive those are the other two people that were at the playoff game supporting Andre.
But the one who is now blonde definitely used to have pink hair instead.
“Bryan, Clark, this is Dylan! He's hanging out with us tonight!”
The taller one, Clark, looks at him with a warm smile, “this makes total sense.” Dylan stands there awkwardly.
Unsure exactly what he’s referring to until he clarifies, “Andre being obsessed with you. I get it now.” and okay, maybe tonight will end up being fine especially when a waiter approaches them and hands Dylan the most delicious drink he’s ever had.
Hyeri has fallen asleep with her head on Andre’s lap when his parents get home from their dinner date. Haejin lifting her into his arms immediately to carry her to bed, “Dylan already asleep?”
“oh, no he went out with Jay tonight” Denis looks shocked, “really? he went on his own?”
“yeah.” Andre smiles softly “crazy right?”
“I'm so glad he did! Jay really cares for him. your brother was telling me at lunch the other day.” Andre’s chest is full with pride, “yeah, that’s how everyone ends up feeling about him.”
“You didn’t want to join them?” his knee bobs anxiously.
The truth is that he did want to. and not because he doesn’t trust him or anything of the sort…Andre just hasn’t really gone out himself either and it sounded fun.
But he wasn’t going to take away Dylan’s opportunity to have a night out without Andre’s tether attached to him.
Just because he’s content being glued to Dylan’s side doesn’t mean that’s what he would want and that’s okay!
“No, I figured I’d let them have their fun. Maybe Grant and I can go out together or something another night.” his mom’s hand is gentle when she runs it through his hair
“Hopefully Dylanie can keep up with Jay…you know he’s a wild card sometimes.”
Andre actually hadn’t let himself think too much about that.
But memories of Grant and Austin groaning come flooding back.
Jay and lost shoes and missed calls and too many bottles. Maybe leaving his baby in those hands wasn’t the best idea when alcohol is involved.
Dylan isn’t sure how many drinks he’s had so far, but all of the nerves and uneasy feelings he had at first are gone.
He’s sitting comfortably, listening to Clark tell them all a story about his new boss who is apparently a grade A asshole.
When Bryan leans into his side with a gentle nudge, “okay, so on a scale of 1–10, how is Andre in the bedroom?”
“Bryan!” Jay smacks his thigh.
Apologetic eyes falling on
Dylan “Ignore him, he asks this every-time someone new comes around.” Wait, what?
“uh…you have a running poll going on Andre’s sex life?”
“No!” Jay groans louder.
Clark laughing and saving the already buzzed ones from fumbling over their words, “he asks anyone new to the group that is involved with someone about their sex life. not just Andre.”
“not just Andre….” Dylan says softly gnawing on his lip and swirling the liquid in his glass “…but definitely including Andre.” Bryan nods, “oh yeah. but he’s always had people under lock and key. No one tells me shit!”
The glare Jay is sending Bryan’s direction kind of makes Dylan giggle.
But watching his friend struggle is giving him more amusement than he should.
“So none of his ex’s have had anything to say? not even James?”
Bryan shakes his head with a huff. “damn bastard. makes them all sign NDAs apparently because why will noone spill?! all of Daniel’s ex’s have no issue gossiping so it’s definitely not a jock thing.”
“Did it ever occur to you that Andre wasn’t sleeping with them?” Jay snaps sharply.
“This is the one you know! Stop making Andre look bad in front of him! He’ll never let Dylan hangout with me again.”
But the thing is that Dylan isn’t bothered.
Even a little bit. At least, he wasn’t. Not until Clark says, "If he can’t handle talking about a few exes i’d be terrified for their future. Andre’s got people dying for a chance to get at him, especially now.”
He finishes his drink and grabs the next one off the tray that passes quickly.
He shouldn’t, he doesn’t have to prove anything. but Dylan does it anyway. crossing a leg and shrugging,
“Well, no NDA here, on a scale of 1-10, he’s definitely a 20.”
That was bad, right? if Andre has always made it a point to keep his bedroom habits private, Dylan definitely shouldn’t spill anything about them.
But he is the one and he can handle anything. past or future. because Andre is his. no doubt. more people show up, greeting everyone and Dylan is calm. checking his phone and responding to the cute text Andre sent of him and Hyeri watching tv an hour ago.
He misses them. the bracelet on his wrist suddenly feels a little tighter, in a good way.
A soft little reminder that his place in Andre’s life is permanent and no amount of friends with loose lips and too many shots will waver those thoughts.
Jay grabs his hand and takes him to the dance floor. apologizing for Bryan and Clark’s behavior but he doesn’t mind these are people Andre loves. no matter how blunt or brazen.
So Dylan just wants to learn to love them too. it’s this new person, however, that he can’t help but feel staring at him.
