Chapter 124 Part 7

Chapter 124 Part 7
Lynn

He smirks briefly as he gives Damon the side-eye. “Friends, family, or anyone that I declared under my protection.”

“Fine. Fair enough, as I can work with that definition.”

Serge smirks. “Duration should be one week.”

Damon exclaims, “No way!”

I giggle and smirk. “Aw, you know I need to check that off my bucket list. It can serve as a good punishment for a certain video.”

Damon growls, “Not happening, plus once your hormones kick in, there's no way you could go a week without sex.” I just huff and roll my eyes. “Kitten! Plus, you know I'm coming with you. I trust you, Serge, just not your men.”

“I don't trust anyone but my friends and my husbands,” I add.

Serge nods. "Alright. Damon can come. Ardin, you can visit too, as you desire.”

“Next, I want to know why now? Damon has had plenty of chicks you could've chosen.” I want to see if he will give me the true read on for this meeting.

Serge quickly replies, “A few reasons, some I can tell you now, but one will need to wait.”

He's hiding something. Yes, he will give me a few reasons, but he's holding the biggest one hostage. “I got Chris handed to me on a silver platter as Damon's plan worked.”

I scoff. “I did most of the work as I exposed Chris’s money laundering against each of you mafia bosses. I also solved Mark's murder. I'm why you got Chris, but go on.”

“I figured since he cashed in on a favor from me, l'd do the same,” Serge says coolly.

I know he's lying, but fuck it! “Well, that's your first mistake.”

“How so?” Serge asks.

“You may have a pull over Damon because of your history, but not me. No one controls me, and most certainly won't make life-altering decisions for me! Plus, you're actually at my mercy currently. So if there's no one to repay, Damon won't feel obligated to do so. I'm merely stating a fact because of how fragile the mob really is. Your people want to kill you, and with the proper help that I can provide, they'd succeed. I could have an army five times the size of yours at your doorstep in a matter of hours while I command your security.”

He runs his hand through his hair and looks at Damon. He just smirks and shrugs.

I say with a sweet smile, “It's just a way of nature. Survival of the fittest, and well, I'm far more competitive and dangerous than Damon. I'm fully aware of what you're capable of, but I'm a wildcard. Is claiming what's Damon's really worth the gamble?”

Serge cocks his head. “Just who the fuck are you, really?”

“A woman that got tired of misogynistic bullshit and decided to fight. Scum like Chris made me this way. A man will never tell me when, who, or how to love or fuck. So if you're after a slave or sub for a week, I'm not it, nor could I even stoop to such a thing. I can be quite the actress, but subjugating myself to fulfill a contract I could never do. If I'm on my knees before a man, it's because it's my choice. And only my choice!”

Serge sighs. “That was a plan at the start of dinner as I thought you had at least some submissiveness in you.”

“Why did you think that?”

“Because I thought you were a closeted Sub as you looked pretty at home in that video,” Serge explains.

I glare at him and then at Damon. “What video?”

Serge looked at Damon as he cocked his head. “Kitten, it was on the list.”

“Not making it public!”

“List didn't specify,” he replies.

“Spill!” I will rip it out of him if I must.

Damon says, “I called it Taming My Kitten.”

I bite my lip and shake my head because I remember him saying that phrase. Did he only name it, or was he more invested? “Oh, you're so on punishment!  Ardin, did you play a role?”

“Nope, all him, Bob, and Kyle,” Ardin answers.

“I should've known one of the boys from Blackout would be involved. Well, I'll get Kyle!”

Damon grumbles, “Ardin you're a fucking rat.”

Ardin smirks. “A rat that's getting laid. Hell, maybe you will get a front row seat too.”

“Serge, the video was residual from a bet of sorts. Damon had so long to find the key to the chastity belt; if he did, he got whatever he asked of me for the night,” I explained.

Ardin nods. “They challenge each other all the time. Some she wins and others he does.”

“You're still playing her games?” Serge asks.

Damon grins. “Yes.”

“Why?” Serge inquires.

Damon says, “Let's just say that she brings it out in me and leave it at that. She's it for me, that’s why I married her. I love her.”

Serge shakes his head no. “Love is weakness.”

He's still broken. “You're wrong! It takes courage to give your heart to another and trust him with it. Our psyche is a fragile thing, but if we find that man who both nurtures and challenges it, we can become virtually unstoppable.” I need to show him how wrong he is. “Chris nearly killed me. I heard Ardin's voice so distant and faint, but it brought me back. His love and that of the friends who stayed by my side are why l'm alive today. Without love, I would've had nothing to fight for. I could have surrendered to the dark abyss, but I didn't because of love. Love saved me in every way! Yes, others can try to exploit your love or even steal it, but you know what?”

“What?” Serge asks.

“Once you find who you're meant to be with, you'll know and nothing or no one could stop you from finding him. Kismet exists, and l've been lucky enough to have finally found it after all of these years and all the pain l've endured. So you see, Damon is part of my destiny. Fate had tried to get us together for years, and now that we are, I'd kill to keep it that way. However, I'd prefer not to burn any bridges and avoid any altercations.”

Serge says coolly, “He's not the same. You've changed him.”
