Chapter 19 Love Wins

"Yes," he said and I stared at him

I clutch  the hem of my shirt so tightly

after his answer

He used to have someone else in his life

"But that was and it is my past, it was over long ago, it can never be my present and future," he said looking at my face

I nodded lightly looking around, trying so hard not to look into his eyes, because I know I will break down if I ever look into his eyes

Why I will break down that is because I have something for him in my heart 

"but it was my past and it will be always it can never be my future and present," he said looking into my eyes 

my grip around the hem of my shirt loosen making my chest feel light but still thought of him with some other women makes me feel so uncomfortable.

I heard a knock over the door making me coming out from my thoughts

I went downstairs to open the door 

I looked  at the young waitress smiling at me

"Hello ma'am, this is for you," she said giving me a beautifully decorated card 

I tilted my head but before I can ask anything her she was out of my sight 

I comes inside to the living room and opened it 

Its Banquet party invitation from CANDSDALE EMPIRES

I heard about it is also a company like Adrian's CAMPBELL EMPIRES 

but CAMPBELL EMPIRES is top among all rivals 

It is owned by Mr. Geread Candsdale, he is the rival and main competitor of Adrian in business and the main headquarter of his company was here in pairs, France. but why did he send the invitation of us didn't Adrian and he is rivaled I think it's because of business moral as mutual respect

The door of the bathroom got opened and Adrain comes with only a towel hung around his waist

I felt a flutter in my tummy as I bounce back looking at him. even my mouth felt so dry just at looking at him 

"Um, Adrian this comes for us," I said showing him that invitation card 

he cursed lightly seeing it and putting it away in dresser with a frown 

"Are we going there," I asked him while fidgeting my fingers 

"NO.not we only I will go there there is no place for you in my life so stay away,'' he said while wearing his shirt with sweatpants 

"But why," I asked as my lips pressed together. The invitation was of tomorrow's evening  

"Because I said so," he said coldly 

I looked away while pressing my lips together I want to go there at that party I always used to love food especially expensive delicious food as I never get a chance to eat it because they used to lock me in the house whenever they used to go over parties

I shook my head I don't want to think about it anymore it always used to give me pain

"but invitation comes for both of us," I said while taping my feet so hard over the floor I don't want to miss delicious food I will get to eat there 

but he didn't say anything and went towards bed ignoring my question

I looked at him frowning fine if he wants to play hard I am in now I will also see how he didn't take me there in that Banquet party.

I stared around the main hall of this amazing hotel

I never even imagined that I can be able to see such a beautiful luxury hotel in real life it's just so amazing, suddenly I bumped into someone and was about to fall my heart felt like coming to my throat

But, I felt someone grabbing my arm

I opened my eyes and stared at the woman who just saved me from getting hurt

She was looking some two years elder than me and had brown long hair wearing a Gucci gown, with expensive sandals even she is looking like a fashion week runway model with her perfect body and beautiful face 

"Thank you," I said while stabling myself, I noticed she was wearing a diamond ring around her finger, so she is also married 

"It's alright you should be careful," she said

"I will take care next time," I said to her it's so nice of her to save me from getting hurt

"Nice to meet you," she nodded and went towards the lobby, I stared at her back 

I don't know why but it feels like this is not the last time I meet her like I will meet her again.

I shook my head I don't know what was wrong with my mind. I squeezed my eyes shut and then went towards the dinner lobby to eat something, I can order room service too even kitchen was also there in the penthouse but I want to explore this beautiful hotel too.

It was evening time and I just finished applying Mascara over my eyes.

I am wearing a beautiful off-shoulder blue prom gown; which is looking so beautiful and hugs every curve of my body like a second skin. all thanks to mom and Skylar who already sends a separate suitcase of beautiful prom gowns with other dresses with me from New York they are lifesavers, I can't even imagine what I do without them, I am so lucky to meet Adrian's mom and sister Skylar they are the best persons in my life, I think they are the result of all the good deeds I did in my life, no one supports me and always is at my back like the way they stand for me 

I love them and now its time to fulfill the promise I did with Adrian's mom 

Adrain denied to take me with him to party and I am also stubborn I won't let him leave without me now  

finally, after setting up my hair I looked at myself in the mirror, it is perfect 

I ran towards out from bedroom I saw Adrian going out from penthouse he was wearing an expensive grey Armani suit 

I ran out of stairs after wearing my silver sandals, to follow him towards the car I am already late I don't want him to leave me here 

just as he was about to drive the car 

"wait, Adrian," I screamed and ran towards his car to catch up with him finally. I made towards his car and quickly grabbed the handle and opened it and sit there breathing heavily 

he looked at me wide-eyed like he is looking at a ghost beside him 

"what the hell," he said 

"what, I told you already I want to come with you but you are as hard as stone not wanting to take me with you so I have to do this," I shrugged beside him he squeezed his eyes shut while repeatedly running his hand over his hair 

"don't do that it will ruin your hair," I said 

"shut up" he snapped frowning 

"calm down don't you think we are getting late for the party it's not a wise decision to argue instead of being there at the party," I said while wiggling my eyebrows at him 

he breathed heavily while tilting his head to the upper and finally starts his car anyway

"you don't tell me how am I looking," I asked while looking at him smiling I don't know but today I want to tease him he looks so cute when he was angry with me but he ignored me as usual 

finally,  we arrived at the venue of the party it's one of the fives star hotels where the party is held

I looked around as I saw many couples in expensive suits and gowns going towards where the banquet party is held

I quickly follow him up and linked my arm with his

"You want to make a single entry in the party even after having a beautiful wife with you," I smirked while looking at him from the corner of my eyes

He frowned looking at me

"What...," I trailed and looking around acting like innocent 

My eyes were searching for the only thing for which I am here

The food section, I looked around this place, it was very posh with a stunning interior and everyone here is looking so posh.

Finally, my yearning eyes found the food section as Adrian was busy with some people talking to them

I quickly make my way towards the food section.

I have never eaten such a delicious dessert in my life, I just want to eat and eat don't want to stop

Suddenly, my eyes stop at something

Women but her back was facing me I think I met her before I knew her

I put my plate aside while making my way near her to see who was she

Slowly, I went towards them to see that women

I gasped little she was the same woman who saved me from getting falling back there in the hotel

She was wearing a beautiful stunning prom gown from the upcoming channel collection with diamond earrings she was wearing very little makeup but only a beautiful red shade of lipstick

"oh hi we meet again," I beamed at her

"yes, it's so unexpected," she said while tickling a strand of her hair behind her ear

"you here," she asked

"I am here with my husband," I said

"Oh," she said

"hi, I am Meghan Candsdale, wife of Gered Candale,"

oh so she is the wife of Mr. Gered Candsale

"I am Emberly Campbell," I introduced myself in a cheerful voice

her eyebrows furrowed little as she tilt her head like she was trying to remember

"Wife of Mr. Adrian Campbell," I finally told her

she snapped her head at me "Adrian," she yelp

I stiffened looking at her "do you know him personally," I asked her

she licked her lips absently smiling little "yeah, we know each other," she smiled lightly at me

"excuse me," she said slack faced and quickly made goes away from my way

I remained looking at her back what suddenly just happened to her, why she started behaving differently with the name of Adrian

I shrugged and went towards another section of desserts but my leg struck with something and my upper lip curled back as I was ready to fall on the harsh floor but nothing happened as I felt something holding me from my waist

I looked and found a very handsome man but not more than Adrian holding me by my waist

"thank you," I said while setting up invisible non-existing creases on my dress, even I was wearing minimal makeup

"my pleasure, to help a beautiful woman," he said smiling at me

I looked around unable to think what to say or talk to him, I don't even know him

"oh I didn't even introduce myself, I am Geread Cansdale,"

oh so he is Mr. Cansdale who is the host of this banquet party

"nice to meet you Mr. Cansdale," I said while shaking my hand with him

"I am Emberly Campbell." I smiled

"oh, so you are the infamous mystery girl who Adrain married," he said while pausing and looking at my eyes suddenly. we heard a sound of clearing throat

we both turned around and I looked at Adrian standing there while his hands were in his pants pocket

he was looking at Geread with a fevered stare as Gered smirked at him

"come we are going," he said with a clenched jaw while turning around and making his way out

"wait," I shouted while running behind him to catch him up

I quickly sat in the car as he was about to drive

his forearm muscles were rigid as he squeezed his eyes shut then he opened his eyes and he was driving so fast like we might catch an accident

"Please slow down, we might get in an accident," I said while clenching and unclenching my fist

but he seemed like ignoring me

"Adrian," I shouted when I noticed another car coming towards our way

he pressed the break of the car making it go besides that another car

Finally, I leave the breath which God knows for how long I was holding.

I sat on the suite of our penthouse, looking out from the window, looking at the Eiffel tower from the far corner of the Skyline

Suddenly, my phone buzzed, it's Skylar's

Without a single thought, I quickly received it,

"How was the honeymoon of my beautiful sister-in-law, was going," Skylar chirped

"Ughh, Skylar," I shook my head

Only if she ever knew the truth of our relationship

"Nothing like that, it's just he got so angry after the banquet party and I think it has to do something with his ex," I told her while thinking about that incident when I meet Mrs.Candsale her strange behavior after she got to know that I am Adrian's wife

"Did you both meet someone there," Skylar asked

"Yes, we went to banquet party and there I meet Mrs.Meghan Candsale wife of Mr. Gerard Candsale,"

" you meet Meghan, there," she whispered, even I can feel shocked in her voice like she was shaken by this,

"Why, what's wrong," I asked her

"She was his ex, That woman who betrayed him who cheated on him over his back sleeping with Gered when she was in a relationship with my brother," Skylar mumbled in a low whisper, she continued

Adrian, used to be madly in love with her, you know they say when a Campbell fall they fall so hard and my brother also fall so hard for that gold digger woman," she said heavily

I glared at the wall beside me, I want to break everything here, I never liked this thought of Adrian being in love with someone other than me, no one has right on his love than me, I will break the neck of that ex-girlfriend of Adrian if I ever saw her even three feet near to my Adrian he is mine and mine only

I know I am behaving so ridiculously here, but this is true and now when I realised that I am in love with Adrain so now no one has right over him but me

"Enough Skylar," I snapped closing my eyes so tightly, stopping her to say more, I never wanna hear his ex-love life, I curled my hands into fists and my lips pressed in a thin line as I breathe heavily closing my eyes

"what happened Em, are you alright," she asked but I quickly threw away the phone, making it break into pieces

I turned away from there and ran out from the suite of Adrian's penthouse, I come outside from the hotel, near a Riverside park, swallowing consciously forcing my limbs to relax, I felt my hands being sweaty there is no way someone will have right on Adrian's love except me

Now the only thing so important to me, the only thing I care so much about is Adrian. I will love him more than anyone can only imagine doing the love Which is more than just ordinary love, that deepest kind of love…

I sat up on the grass, trying my best to relax, but nothing was helping me

Suddenly, my phone buzzed,

"Emberly, E…" I heard Meghan's panicked voice

"Meghan, how did you get my number," I asked her

"C...come, please, " she whispered and whimper in a pain

"Are you alright, what happened to you," I cried out

"Em, please listen, come quickly as I'm messaging you address, I'm in trouble, he...he will kill m...me," she coughed hard,

"Meghan, Megh…." Before I can say more, her phone hang up

After some moments, I saw a message from an unknown number,

But, I don't know anything and any place in Paris

I quickly went towards a cafe, near the park

After the owner told me about it, I typed it on my phone's google location map and hurried towards that place

I come towards the address and looked up, it's Candsale mansion, I frowned, why she called me in her house, quickly opened its gate

I entered there

The whole mansion was silent, no one was there

"Meghan," I called out but no one was here

I yelp when I hear some noise from the other corner of the large living room of the mansion

I gasped when I found, a man tied in a chair with cloth in his mouth

I quickly untie him,

He coughed hard, as I gently rubbed his back

"Are you alright," I asked him

He shook his head, "what are you doing here, just go away, these peoples are very dangerous," he blabbered

I didn't understand what he wants to say, and where the hell is that Meghan who called me, and who was going to kill her

"But," I'm about to say, but jerked when I felt something, hard slammed against my head

I fall on the floor, and soon my eyes become a blur.

I groaned and slowly opened my eyes, but yelped when a splash of cold water threw on my face

I jerked my body up and tilted my head back seeing Meghan, with a jug of water in her hand

Then I looked around, I'm in an area surrounded by dry dead trees, even I can feel That I was in an area of upper ground, like one a mountain,

My eyes widened, I'm actually on a mountain

I snapped my head at Maghan she was smirking at me

"What is the all," I hissed at her

"Oh, baby girl, don't worry, soon you'll be free from all this, even you'll be free from your damn life," she sneered

"Why you want to kill me," I asked

"Because he married you and I won't let him fall in love with someone else than me," she sneered while throwing at the glass jug making it break on the pieces,

"But, didn't you cheat on him," I said to her while struggling to get out of the ropes as she tied on on a chair

"Yes, I've cheated on him because at that time I thought, that Gread, will make me happier but soon we both got bored with each other after our marriage and now, in what my Adrian back at any cost," she screamed at my face

My jaw clenched, how dare she call my husband her's

I will still this bitch

"Bitch, untie me up, then I will show you who am I," I spit at her

"Tsk, tsk so sad princess, it won't happen as I will kill you in from of him," she hissed at me

"In front of him," I frowned

Her expression changed into amused,

"Yes, I called him, here, and told him that his beautiful wife will soon get killed by me, you can't even imagine how much angrier he was after hearing this if it was not like we're talking one phone then he would have killed me if I told this in front of him

She grabbed my head, but suddenly I heard a heavy sound like the explosion of a bomb

I looked in the direction and frozen at the spot when I noticed Adrian there

Happiness, overwhelm, calm, peace, anxiety nervousness, I felt evening just at that moment

His eyes are bloodshot, while his hair is messed but still, it makes him look more attractive

He glared in Meghan's direction, but his eyes soften when he look at me

" Adrian," Meghan chirped

"Leave her," he hissed at her

"Why I will kill this bitch, she came between us, now I will kill her, she dared to come between us," Meghan spit looking at me

"Meghan, no leave her I said," Adrian said even I felt panic in his voice

"Adrian, go from here this woman is crazy, she can harm you," I screamed at top of my lungs

My heart was racing so faster, Adrian he is my first love and my everything, my husband, how can I see someone harm him

No, not until I'm alive

But, I gasped when I felt a sharp thing proving my throat a little but still, it was hurting like hell

"Meghan leave her, or I swear I will kill you," he screamed at her

"No, I will still be the bitch," she pressed the knife deeper but before she can harm me suddenly that knife loosened around my neck

It's Adrian, he shot at her side making her drop the knife

Meghan falls over the edge of a cliff of the mountain, suddenly we head siren of police cars, soon police officers came out from it and cuffed that Meghan and took her away

Adrian quickly rushed to my side and makes me free from the ropes

He hugged me so tightly,

"Are you alright," he kissed my forehead and I nodded and buried my head on his chest

"In love you," he whispered and I freeze at my place

Did he just confess his love for me,

"W...what," fresh tears falls from my eyes

"Yes, i'm love with you Emberly, I've fallen so hard for you even in also don't know, when this happened but it happened

" But, didn't you love Meghan," I sodded

He wiped away tears and kissed me softly my lips

"No, I've never loved her, it's just attraction I've felt for her, what's real love, I got know after you come in my life, you completed me Emberly, I love you so much," he rested his head with mine

"I love you too, Adrian," I cried out and hugged him so tightly like I never wanted to let him go.
