Chapter 183 You Clearly Still Love Me!
Chapter 183 You Clearly Still Love Me!
Adrian didn't give Violet another chance to speak. He bent down, scooped her up around the waist, and carried her toward the bedroom.
When Violet was laid on the bed, Adrian was already pressing down over her, one hand pinning both her wrists above her head, the other gripping her waist with just enough force to hold her still.
"Adrian, let go of me——" Violet struggled, but couldn't break free.
"Violet." Adrian looked down into her eyes, breathing hard, his voice rough like it had been burned. "Tell me. What do you want me to do?"
She said nothing.
He waited a few seconds, got no answer, then bent down and kissed her neck — wet and warm and deliberate. His fingers tightened around her wrists.
"I signed the divorce papers," Adrian said against her ear, his voice low and strained. "But I regretted it, so I tore them up."
Violet's body went rigid for a moment. "You..."
Adrian's lips slid along her jawline to behind her ear, a hint of desperation bleeding through. His other hand found the hem of her loungewear and pushed it up slightly, his palm pressing against the skin at her waist — burning hot, like fire.
"Adrian," Violet's voice had gone hoarse too. "We were already about to——"
"We're not." Adrian cut her off, breathing roughly, pressing his forehead into the curve of her shoulder. "Violet. We're not divorcing."
Violet's eyes went red. "Adrian, I don't love you anymore."
Adrian grabbed her chin hard, his eyes cold and sharp. "You don't love me anymore — is it because you've fallen for Julian? Or Sebastian?"
Violet had no answer to that.
"Answer me." Adrian's anger flared, jealousy threatening to burn him alive.
Violet pressed her lips together, not wanting to drag this out. "Adrian, what I do is none of your business."
"Violet! I'm your husband!" Adrian's voice shook. "Until we're actually divorced, you can't be with other men——"
"Then what about Quinn!" Violet snapped, her voice rising. "Adrian, how dare you demand anything from me. What about how you act around her."
The bedroom went suddenly quiet. All that could be heard was the sound of their uneven breathing.
Adrian stared into Violet's red-rimmed eyes. "Violet... I never really cared about her that much."
Maybe there had been a moment — a flutter of something — but it was never love.
Because he had never gone crazy with jealousy over Quinn. Even when he'd walked in on her with Caleb, he'd only felt a vague disappointment.
But the second he saw Julian kiss Violet like he owned her, Adrian had wanted to kill someone.
Violet shook her head. "Adrian, let me go. This is exhausting me. I stopped expecting anything from you a long time ago. I stopped loving you a long time ago..."
"Violet, don't——" Adrian cut her off.
But his hands didn't stop. His fingers trailed up along her waist, hooked the clasp of her bra, and with a small movement, it came undone. His palm pressed over her chest, the weight of it almost possessive.
Violet trembled slightly under his touch, but she didn't push him away.
She didn't love him anymore. But her body had always liked the way he touched her.
"Adrian..."
"Hmm?" His lips moved along her collarbone, downward, stopping at the rise and fall of her chest.
He lowered his head and took one nipple into his mouth, his tongue pressing lightly against the tip, rolling it in slow, deliberate circles.
Violet's whole body snapped taut. Her back arched off the bed, her nails digging into the fabric at his shoulders, a broken moan catching in her throat.
"Don't..." She turned her head away, her ears burning red.
Adrian didn't stop. He released her and moved his lips along the curve of her chest to the other side.
His palm rested at her waist, his fingertips tracing slow circles over the small of her back.
Violet could feel his hand sliding lower — from her stomach to the waistband of her pants. When his fingers slipped inside, he paused, as if waiting for her reaction.
Violet kept her eyes closed. The fingers gripping his shirt loosened for just a moment — then tightened again.
Another silent permission.
Adrian didn't wait any longer. He hooked her underwear and pulled it down, the fabric dragging along the side of her leg, leaving a trail of fine shivers in its wake.
Violet's breathing was unsteady, her chest rising and falling fast. Her loungewear hung half-off, caught around her arms, leaving her shoulders and chest exposed. Bite marks and kiss bruises scattered across her pale skin, vivid and stark.
Adrian undid his shirt buttons — a little too quickly. The last two were yanked open. His belt buckle rang out with a sharp metallic clink, and the sound of his zipper being pulled down cut clearly through the room.
Violet turned her head to the side, fingers twisting into the bedsheets beneath her.
"Look at me." Adrian leaned over her, one hand braced beside her head, the other cupping the inside of her thigh. When his thumb pressed over her center, her whole body shuddered, and the slick warmth of her coated his fingertips.
"You're wet."
Violet gritted her teeth and looked away. "It's just a physical reaction."
When his fingers pushed inside her, Violet bit down on her lower lip and made no sound — but her hips rolled upward on their own, instinctively meeting his movement.
Adrian withdrew his fingers and kissed the corner of her mouth. At the same moment, the blunt heat of him pressed against her entrance.
He dragged the tip of himself through her folds, not pushing in yet, just grinding slowly against her, back and forth, until he was slick with her.
Violet's breath caught in her throat. Her thighs trembled, pressing against his hips.
"Adrian..." Her voice came out with the edge of a sob.
He gripped her waist and pushed in.
They both let out a low, muffled groan at the same time.
She was tight and hot around him, gripping him so completely that his mind went blank.
Adrian pressed in slowly, inch by inch, until he was buried fully inside her, the two of them locked together without any space between.
Once she adjusted, he started to move.
The first few strokes were slow — pulling back almost all the way out, then sliding back in, dragging over the most sensitive spot inside her, drawing out soft, wet sounds.
Violet's breathing fell apart. Her thighs tightened around his waist, her body rising to meet him each time he pushed deep.
Adrian cradled her face, damp with sweat. "Violet. You're this wet for me. You still love me."
And he picked up the pace.
The room filled with the sound of skin against skin and the moans she couldn't hold back, the mattress shifting and creaking beneath them.
Adrian had one hand braced beside her, the other gripping her hip, pulling her into each thrust. He moved faster, deeper, hitting the same spot every time.
"Slower..." Violet's voice came out like a plea.
He didn't slow down.
He bent and kissed her open mouth, swallowing her broken sounds, and shifted the angle inside her, driving into her hard and relentless.
Violet couldn't speak anymore. When she came, she bit down on Adrian's shoulder, her whole body shaking violently beneath him, her walls clenching and releasing around him in waves, holding him tight.
Adrian groaned low at the sensation. The last few thrusts came fast and hard, nearly knocking her apart, and with one final deep push, he came inside her.
Violet lay with her eyes shut, trembling all over. Her thighs kept spasming. Her face was wet with sweat and tears.
Adrian didn't pull out. He stayed buried inside her, feeling the aftershocks of her orgasm ripple around him, and pressed his lips to her damp temple, then the reddened corner of her eye.
"Violet." He said her name quietly.
She didn't answer.
"Violet. Let's not get divorced. Okay?"
Violet stared at nothing, eyes still red. "Adrian... I'm tired."
