Chapter 182 Adrian’s Forceful Kiss!

Chapter 182 Adrian’s Forceful Kiss!

Quinn didn't expect Adrian to dig up everything. Her face went pale. "Adrian, it's all a misunderstanding. I can explain..."

"Explain what? That you were messing around with Caleb behind my back, but acting all lovey-dovey in front of me?" Adrian's voice was ice cold, and his eyes were full of disappointment. "Quinn, how am I supposed to trust you?"

Adrian took a step back, putting some distance between them.

"From today on, you and your family have nothing to do with me." Adrian said it flatly.

Even though he was furious, he still left her some dignity. After all, Quinn had been with him for years, and he had really liked her.

After saying that, Adrian turned and walked out fast.

"Adrian!" Quinn chased after him a few steps but tripped on the coffee table. Her voice cracked. "You can't do this to me! I've given up so much for you. For you, I would've even given up my life..."

Adrian paused for a second but didn't look back.

"Quinn, we're done. From now on, we don't need to see each other again."

The door closed.

Quinn dropped to the floor, shaking all over, tears running down her face.

Elsie snapped out of her shock and screamed, "He just left? Just like that?! We spent years setting everything up, and he threw it all away with one sentence?"

Robert slumped on the couch and covered his face, saying nothing.

Adrian got back in his car, rolled down the window, and let the cool night air in. He didn't start the car right away. He just sat there, staring at the Wells family's front gate. His eyes looked dark and cold. After a while, he started the car and drove to Violet's place.

Adrian really wanted to see Violet. He thought breaking up with Quinn would leave him heartbroken, but it didn't. He suddenly realized that divorcing Violet hurt way more than losing Quinn.

He didn't know where that feeling came from. He just needed to see Violet and figure it out.

By the time Adrian got to Violet's building, it was past midnight. He parked on the side of the road, turned off the engine, but didn't get out. He looked at her building through the windshield.

The lights on the fifth floor were still on.

She was still awake this late?

Adrian got out, walked into the building, and went straight to Violet's door. He was about to ring the bell when he noticed the door was slightly open, just a small crack.

His hand stopped.

He heard Violet's voice from inside. "Julian, had too much to drink?"

Then Julian answered, "Violet, I'm not drunk. I know what I'm doing."

Adrian's brows twitched. His hand stayed in the air.

Why was Julian in Violet's place this late?

Adrian suddenly remembered Julian saying he was chasing some hard-to-get girl. It was his own wife, Violet.

Adrian looked through the crack. Julian was standing in front of Violet, holding a bouquet of dark red roses. There were two empty wine bottles and a decanter on the coffee table. Julian had clearly drunk a lot.

"Violet," Julian's voice was low, almost too quiet for Adrian to hear. "I've wanted to tell you for a long time. I really like you..."

Violet frowned and stepped back a little. "Julian, you're drunk. I'll take you home."

Julian didn't move. He just looked at her, serious. "I'm not drunk. All this time, I—"

Before he could finish, he suddenly stepped forward.

Adrian's eyes narrowed. He saw Julian lean down and kiss Violet lightly on the cheek.

Violet froze for a second, then pushed him away. "Julian."

Julian stepped back, his eyes a little hazy from the alcohol. "Sorry, I lost control. I like you too much."

Adrian stood frozen in the hallway like a statue.

That kiss hit him hard. It felt like someone had thrown boiling oil on his chest. He could barely breathe.

Julian kissed her.

And Violet didn't dodge.

Even if it was just for a second, she didn't move.

Adrian's breathing got heavy. His chest was rising and falling fast. He turned around, leaned against the wall, trying to calm down, but he couldn't.

Inside, Julian got rejected, put the flowers down, and headed for the door.

He opened it and came face to face with Adrian.

Their eyes met.

Julian spoke first. "Adrian?"

Adrian looked past him at Violet, who was still standing by the coffee table. She saw him too and froze.

"What are you doing here so late?" Julian shifted a little, keeping his voice calm, but he stayed in the doorway like he was protecting Violet.

Adrian didn't answer him. His eyes stayed on Violet. "I need to talk to her."

Julian frowned. "It's too late."

"Julian." Adrian finally looked at him. "Go home. We'll talk tomorrow about why you showed up at my wife's place in the middle of the night."

His tone left no room for argument.

Julian stared at him for a few seconds but didn't move.

Violet's voice came from behind. "Julian, just go."

Julian glanced back at her, hesitated, then stepped aside and walked past Adrian.

Violet stood in the doorway, looking tired. "Adrian, if it's something important, can we talk tomorrow?"

Adrian didn't leave.

He stepped forward, grabbed the hand she had on the doorframe, and pulled her inside. The door shut behind him.

"Adrian!" Violet frowned and tried to pull away. "You—"

He cut her off with a kiss, hard and rough, like he'd been holding it in for too long.

Her back hit the wall in the entryway. She pushed at his chest with both hands, but he didn't budge.

"Adrian... what the hell are you doing?" He pulled back a little, breathing hard.

Adrian grabbed her chin and turned her face back to him. His eyes were dark and red. "He kissed you."

Violet blinked. "He was drunk—"

"I know," Adrian cut in, his voice rough. "But when I saw him kiss you, I wanted to kill him."
