CHAPTER 40: Fooling Sebastian

"So you're telling me that Marius is cleaning up his men and he threw his phone that you used to spy on him?" tanong ko kay Haize.

I can see that he is pissed right now. Bukod kasi sa unti-unti na nabubulilyaso ang kanyang matagal ng plano ay wala na siyang pwedeng gamitin upang mahanap si Avery.

"He did," sagot niya sa akin. "But rest assured, my men wouldn't tell him anything. They rather want to die than tell him that it was me who planned it all along," sagot niya sa akin.

"I'm sure Marius already suspected you. Why wouldn't he arrest you?" curious kong tanong sa kanya.

"Why, you say? He and the organization don't have any evidence to pinpoint me. All they knew was that I am the leader of Haze. They are not aware of Kaizen. And he wouldn't want to do that because it might ignite a war between countries," sagot niya sa akin. "He's too smart to do that."

Nagpatango-tango na lang ako sa kanya.

Actually, wala akong pakiaalam kung ano ang gagawin ni Haize kay Mariua or kung ano man ang plano nito. Ang mahalaga ay matulungan niya akong makuha si Avery.

"So how can you help me to get Avery when you already lost the means of locating him?" tanong ko sa kanya.

"I have my ways. So just stay and do your part when I need you to do it," sagot niya sa akin.

Kanina pa nakaalis si Haize sa aking opisina noong dumating si Arnold, isang bagong business partner ng mining firm ng pamilya Saavedra. He has some business proposal for me to look too at magpipirmahan kami ng bagong business contract sa bagong project na gagawin namin. Originally, si Papa ang madalas na kausap ni Arnold. This is the first time for me involving the mining business of the family.

"Good afternoon, your grace," bati nito sa akin kasama ang kanyang secretary na ayon sa kanya ay fated mate niya, in other words ay ang kanyang asawa.

"Good afternoon. Please have a seat and let's go down the business," sagot ko sa kanya.

Marami kaming pinag-usapan at lahat ng aking katanungan ay nasasagot niya. The project he's trying to close is very interesting project since mage-benefit dito ang mga mamamayan ng Bree.

"If you want to learn more about the project, your grace. You can read the contract and then sign it afterward," sabi pa ni Arnold.

Binasa ko ito paper by paper. Matapos kong mabasa ito ay pinirmahan ko ito ng wala ng katanungan. Papa trusted this guy so am I too.

Matapos mapirmahan ang mga papeles ay nakangiting nakipag-handshake sa akin si Arnold.

"It's nice doing business with you, your grace," sabi niya sa akin bago nagpaalam.

Ah, ang gaan sa katawan ang wala kang ginagawa. All I have to do is to trust Haize to bring Avery to me and be a good duke just like my Father.

"Did you closed the project with Arnold, son?" tanong ni Papa sa akin pag-uwi galing ng House of the Duke.

"Yes, Dad," sagot ko sa kanya.

Nangunot ang noo ni Papa.

"He did? Usually, Arnold is a very picky man. Ayaw niya ng baguhan at walang alam sa mining business but still it's a good job. He must have seen something in you when he handed you the papers to sign," sabi niya.

"Dad, para namang wala kang bilib sa anak mo," natatawang sagot ko kay Dad.

Ngumiti ito sa akin

"Well, it's a good thing you already changed your mind about wanting Avery back. That's a good sign, son," sabi pa niya before patting my shoulder. "Keep it up, son. People of Bree will be proud of you."

As if I changed my mind.

Avery is all that I wanted at wala ng iba.

As per Haize recommendation, dumami ang mga business proposals at mga businessmen ang nais pumasok sa Bree upang magtayo ng mga negosyo dito. More investors means more money to be collected.

Hindi naman nag-reklamo ang mga ito sa halagang kailangan nilang bayaran.

"So how was it?" tanong ni Haize after many weeks na bigla na lang itong nawala.

"How's what?" tanong ko sa kanya habng nagbabasa ng mga paper works at pinipirmahan ang mga dapat pirmahan.

"The businessmen who came here to invest," sabi niya habang nagbubukas ng magazine.

"Good. Bree's economy become better than before," sagot ko sa kanya. "Thanks to you," sabi ko pa.

"What are friends for? Hindi ba nagtutulungan?" aniya bago inilipat ang pahina ng magazine.

"Walang hidden agenda ang pagtulong mo sa akin?" tanong ko sa kanya.

"Are you kidding me? Of course wala. I just hate you seeing so down. You were my friend also back then and you helped me a lot. I'm just returning the favor," sagot niya. "I wouldn't like seeing you being so sad while Marius is at the blast, right?" tanong pa niya

Tumango-tango ako sa kanya.

Part of me really pained when Marius and my friends that we had since we were kids were gone. We knew each other since diapers and seeing it ruined just because of an omega made me regret it. Pero mas matimbang sa akin ang puso at ang responsibilidad bilang isang ama.

"Hey Seb, when we find our own mate, let's do a double wedding," sabi ni Marius when we were still in high school matapos naming umattend ng kasal ng Duke ng Siberia.

"Good idea. I'd like to do that too. I can't wait to meet my mate," sagot ko pa sa kanya noon.

"Oh? To whom? Napaka-playboy mo kaya," bulong niya sa akin.

"I'm a man with needs. Hindi ko pwedeng hintayin ang aking fated mate to satisfy myself," sagot ko sa kanya.

"I found mine," sabi niya. "So I stopped fooling around," sabi pa niya.

Napatingin ako sa kanya.

"No way!"

Ngumiti siya.

"It's true. I found him in an alley yesterday. He was in his heat when I found him," sagot niya.

"Anddd? Did you do him?" curious kong tanong sa kanya.

Ngumiti lang siya. Iyong klase ng ngiti na satisfied na.

"Come on! Don't you just smile there. Tell me," medyo malakas kong sabi sa kanya.

"Shhj young masters, the wedding is still ongoing please be quiet," saway sa amin ng organizer ng kasalang iyon.

"You owe me a story," bulong ko kay Marius.

"Make me," natatawa niyang sagot sa akin.

Habang nasa reception kami ay kinukulit ko na si Marius.

"He has a pair of big brown eyes," sabi niya.

"And?"

"Auburn long hair."

"And? Come on, tell me more. I'm trying to picture him in my head," sabi ko pa.

"Nope. No more. My mate is for my eyes only," sagot niya sa akin.

"You're cruel! Haven't I let you meet all of my partners?" tanong ko sa kanya.

"All of your partners but not your mate. Alphas are possessive, you idiot. You know it right?"

"Ah! You're unfair," sagot ko sa kanya.

Who couldn't even think that the bastard mate is the person I truly love the most.

"Earth to Sebastian!" narinig kong sabi ni Haize sa akin bago pinitik ang kanyang mga daliri malapit sa aking mukha.

"What the hell?" naiinis kong tanong sa kanya.

"Kanina pa ako salita ng salita rito but you weren't even listening," sagot niya bago bumalik sa kinauupuan niya.

"Sorry, may iniisip lang ako," sagot ko sa kanya.

"Let me guess, about the omega?" tanong nito sa kanya.

"Sort of," sagot ko sa kanya.

"You'll have him soon," sabi niya bago bumalik sa pagbabasa. "And also, a very close friend of mine wants to invest here. He's a very successful man. If you let him in, Bree's economy will double. Trust me," sabi pa niya.

"Who is this closest friend of yours?" tanong ko sa kanya.

"His name is Lemuel. And mind you, Sebastian, he's an omega. A dominant omega. He loves to top alphas," sagot niya.

Bigla akong napatingin sa kanya.

"Omega who topped an alpha?" tanong kong hindi makapaniwala.

"Yes. And also he doesn't have that effeminate body. He has a huge build. So be careful, he might gonna like you," sabi niya pagkatapos ay tumawa.

"The hell man?" inis na sabi ko sa kanya.

"Just kidding. Anyways accept him he'll help you gain more profits," sabi niya.

Muli ay nagtiwala ako kay Haize. Like what he promised to me, Bree's economy boomed tripled simula noong pumasok si Lemuel. Although ayoko ng paraan ng pagtingin niya sa akin, naging magalang pa rin ako sa kanya.

"Are you single, your grace?" tanong niya sa akin.

"No sorry," straight na sagot ko sa kanya.

"You're taken?" gulat na tanong nito habang nagdidiner kami kasama si Haize na halos mabulunan sa kinakain niya. Onviously pigil na pigil ang tawa. "But Haize told me you are still single," sabi pa niya.

"Lemuel please," sabi ni Haize. "Can't you that his grace is uncomfortable right now?" sabi pa niya.

"Aw, sorry, my bad your grace if I made you feel that," hinging paumanhin ni Lemuel sa akin.

Lemuel is real a hunk. He's bigger than most alphas and has a scary look although he is too handsome to be an omega. I'm sure he was made to be alpha but fate messed up and so he was born as an omega. Whoever this guy's fated alpha must be a twink to be able to pair each other. I mean yeah, he should be born as an alpha. Is he scary, his two bodyguards are scarier than him. Haize told me that they are Betas.

Even if Lemuel is scary, there he is good when it comes to business. Recently, he open up two more branches of his restaurant in Oxyen, Bree's second largest city. As usual, dinagsa ito ng mga tao dahil bukod sa masasarap ang kanilang mga putahe, marami talaga ang tumatangkilik dito.

"If you have some free time, you can visit my restaurant's main branch, your grace," sabi ni Lemuel.

"Thank, I'll think about it," sagot ko sa kanya.

After that agonizing dinner, nakahinga lang ako ng maluwag noong pauwi na kami ni Haize.

"Seriously, he's freaking scary," sabi ko sa kanya.

"He's not. Akala mo lang iyon dahil malakinsiya kesa sa iyo," sagot niya sa akin.

"Is he really an omega?"

"He's not."

"Yes. Hindi mo ba nakikita?"

"Damn, I couldn't even see the effeminate part of him. I'm sure he's a freaking Alpha.

Even though Haize keeps on denying it. There's something in me that keeps on telling me to stay away from that guy.
