Chapter 170: Two Years Later Part 2
"Luna Sandra, I must ask you … Do you think you are ready to take the role of Luna of the Rock Canyon Pack from Luna Margarite?" inquired Elder Graham.
Before I answered his question, I looked at my brothers, my mates, and their parents. "Elder Graham, I have noticed a difference in the pack in these last few years. Now that Avery is the Beta, we have seen quite a transformation in the pack. I believe that I am ready to become Rock Canyon's Luna," I proudly stated.
James didn't say anything. He simply had a look of pride on his face. He didn't think I would ever want to become the Luna of the pack because of all the hate over the years. How can I deny my mate any longer? His pack has shown him, the Council, and me that they have changed for the better. Now, they deserve to have me as their Luna.
"Very good, Sandra. I was hoping you would want to become Luna. The pack has shown tremendous improvement these past two years. I am very proud of what your mate has accomplished," professed Elder Graham.
"Now, the only question I have left is when would we like to have her Luna ceremony?" Elder Terrance questioned everyone present.
"How about next weekend or the next full moon?" chimed in Patrick.
"Two weeks?" suggested James to everyone.
"How about tonight before she changes her mind," cried out Avery.
Everyone laughed when he said that except me. I just looked at him like he was crazy.
"Why not? We could have everything ready in a matter of minutes. Then we can have a Bar-B-Q at the Training Grounds to celebrate. What do you say, Luna Sandra?" Dad (Sebastian) suggested with a serious tone to his voice.
"Okay," I replied softly.
The room erupted in cheers and howls of joy. I remained silent and seated. Everyone else jumped into action. James told me not to worry, everything would be taken care of. Davidson picked me up and took me upstairs to our bedroom per his and James' mother's orders.
What did I just do? I was told to take a shower and report back to the bedroom as quickly as possible. I did as I was instructed. Just like that, I was transformed into the perfect Luna and placed into the perfect dress for the occasion within two hours' time.
I was told to take a change of clothes for after the ceremony so I could be comfortable at the Bar-B-Q. Davidson had already packed the bag needed for me. No worries there. Yay me.
I was whisked away to the Training Grounds for the ceremony within three hours of agreeing to become Luna of the pack. Incredibly, everyone from the pack was there for the ceremony-did they already have this planned and didn't tell me about it?
Luna Ceremony
Elder Graham presided over the ceremony because he wanted the honor of doing so. Elder Graham called Alpha James, Luna Margarite, and me forward. The Luna Ceremony is a little different from the Alpha Ceremony, but not much. We still have to drink blood and take an oath, but the Luna's oath states that we will support the Alpha in protecting, serving, defending, and guiding the pack. We are his equal.
I proudly took my oath while James stood proudly on stage with our son Owen and daughter Jacqueline. When I finished James wrapped his arms around me and kissed me soundly to the cheers and howls of the pack. When he released me, he howled into the night sky and the rest of the pack joined in.
James held up his hand to signify he wanted everyone's attention. "Rock Canyon Pack, Tonight, we finally get to celebrate Luna Sandra as the Luna of our Pack. Please join us in the Grand Ball Room as we celebrate Luna Sandra FINALLY becoming OUR LUNA!
'Grand Ball Room? I thought we were having a Bar-B-Q James?" I was a little shocked at his statement in the family link.
'As if we would have a Bar-B-Q for such a momentous occasion as this!' chastised Timothy in our link.
'You are our baby sister and as such, YOU deserve only the BEST. You finally became Rock Canyon's Luna; this is a day we didn't think would ever happen. Do you think we could only have a Bar-B-Q to celebrate?' exclaimed Michael with a huge smile on his face.
'You all had this planned, didn't you?' I chastised them in our link.
'Yes, we did,' they chorused together.
'I love all of you so much,' I exclaimed as Michael came in for a bear hug and a kiss.
"We love you too, Luna Sandra," Michael replied out loud for everyone to hear.
James held his arm out for me to take as he and Davidson escorted me to the Grand Ballroom at the pack house. Once everyone was settled, Beta Avery announced, "Rock Canyon Pack, please draw your attention to the double doors. Introducing for the first time, your Alpha James and Luna Sandra of the Rock Canyon Pack."
The doors opened up and we stepped through them. As James guided me to the head table, the pack members bowed toward us. The pack members wore smiles and the feeling was one of happiness.
Once we got to the head table, James announced, "Rock Canyon Pack, please join me in celebrating, my mate, our Luna. Let's enjoy dinner and dancing afterward! Enjoy everyone!"
After his announcement, we sat down and were served a delicious dinner. I was seated between my two Alphas. My children sat with their grandparents. For the first dance, James and I performed the dance together. He was so proud that I finally accepted the role of Luna of the Rock Canyon Pack.
We danced and enjoyed ourselves for hours. It was the perfect evening. My mates and my brothers made my evening special in every respect. I didn't think this evening would ever come around. When the time came to leave, James struck a knife to a glass to get everyone's attention.
"Rock Hollow Pack, Luna Sandra and I are going to call it an evening. Beta Avery will assume the host role until the end of the evening. Thank you again for helping us celebrate tonight. Good night everyone," declared James to the entire pack.
We ended the evening on a high note. Everything was special. Instead of a Bar-B-Q, my family had a grand celebration in the Grand Ballroom to celebrate me becoming Rock Canyon's Luna. What would I do without my mates or my brothers? They are simply the best a girl could ask for.
