Chapter 13
Alpha Nathan sits at his desk, studying the maps before him. He looks deep in thought, with a serious expression on his face.
Since he got that message, his mind has been burning with hatred and revenge. He vowed to find the hunters’ location and exact his revenge on them.
Despite his determination, he starts to feel frustrated as he tries to figure out the hunters' location and how to defeat them.
He uses his fingers to trace the lines on the maps, trying to pinpoint their exact location. But the hunters' movements are hard to predict.
Alpha Nathan's mind is full of plans and strategies, but none seem to work. He knows that keeping his pack safe depends on finding a way to reach the hunters.
Suddenly a thought entered his mind, and he reached out to his Beta.
“Alexander”. Alpha Nathan called through the mind link.
“Yes, Alpha”, Alexander replied.
“I need your help. Please come to my office”. He replied while turning to face his window.
“On my way”. Alexander said.
As Alpha Nathan waits, he looks out the window staring at the moon as it casts its soft glow over the forest.

A knock on the door interrupts his thoughts, and Alexander enters.
“Sorry for calling you at this time, " Alpha Nathan began, turning around to face him. “What are you wearing?”. He asked, staring at his Beta eyes wide in shock.
“In my defense, I was already in bed when you called”, Alexander replied nonchalantly.
Rolling his eyes, he replied, “So you had to show up to my office in briefs; what if a pack member sees you”.
Shrugging, Alexander sat down on the chair in front of Nathan.
“From the maps in front of you, I guess you are planning an attack on the hunters,” Alexander said while staring at him.
“You don’t expect me to sit down. And do nothing, do you,” Alpha Nathan replied, staring at him.
“I suppose you're right,” he said. “So, what have you gotten so far, “he asked, looking at the map.
“I have been staring at this map for the last hour, but I’m yet to find out where those hunters may be hiding”. Alpha Nathan sighs while resting his back on the chair and closing his eyes.
The Beta stared at his Best friend, concerned and worried on his face. “Perhaps we should visit the tracker who went on the scouting mission; he might have something useful”. Alexander said.
“You're right”, Alpha Nathan said, getting up.
He picked up a pair of shorts he usually kept for emergencies and threw them at him. “Why didn’t I think of that?” He said.
“Well, I’m the smarter one here,” Alexander said, putting on the shorts.
They both laugh. They took the short walk to the pack clinic while having small talks between themselves.
“Alpha, Beta, good evening. How may I help you, please?” The pack doctor Evan said
“Good evening Dr Evan. Can you point us to Gregory's room?” Alexander said.
“The first room by the corner”, Evan replied.
They took the short walk to Gregory’s room in silence. They let themselves in as they reached the door, as it was unlocked.
“Good evening, Alpha, Beta”. Gregory said when the pair walked in.
“Good evening Gregory. How are you feeling,” Alpha Nathan asked.
“I feel really good, but the doctor insists I rest; I can’t wait to return to the field Alpha”. Gregory replied.
Alpha Nathan was impressed by the wits and courage of the young wolf.
“were you able to get the location of the hunters?” Beta Alexander asked.
“I’m not sure, Beta Alexander; we were always moving constantly, not spending more than six nights in a place”. Gregory replied.
“Can you guess your last location?” He asked.
“Not sure because we were blindfolded the majority of the time, but all I know is that we were in a human town, and there was a waterfall there”, he replied
“There is only one human town with a waterfall”. Alpha Nathan said while folding his hands; it’s at the outskirts”.
“Are you very sure about this”? Beta Alexander asked.
“Yes, beta, I’m sure. I heard the hunters talking about going for a bath there,” He replied.
“How many nights did you spend there before they let you go”. Alpha Nathan asked.
“Just one night, Alpha”. He replied.
“And how would you know this if you were blindfolded,” he asked, staring at the wolf intensely.
“The blindfolds were taken off during the nights”. He replied.
“Is there a reason for that?” Beta Alexander asked.
“We were told to fight each other as entertainment for them”. He replied.
“Why did they let you go and not others?”. Alpha Nathan asked.
The warrior looked at the ground with guilt, shame and sadness written all over his face.
“I’m sorry, Alpha, I had no choice.” He replied.
“What did you do,” He asked again. He was staring at him with suspicion.
“We were told to fight to the death, and the winner will be set free.” He said, tears falling from his eyes. “I’m sorry, Alpha”.
“It’s okay; thank you for the information”. Alpha Nathan said.
After getting the information, they wished him a good recovery and left.
Back at the office, Alpha Nathan, Alexander and Tyler went through the map, following Gregory's statement and descriptions, and were able to find out the location of the hunters.
“I know where this is. It's like a day and a half journey by road, but in wolf form, it should take us less time than that,” Alexander said while pointing at a location on the map.
“This seems to be the same area where our former Alpha and Luna were ambushed”, Gamma Tyler added, unaware of the emotions that statement starred in his Alpha.
On hearing this, Alpha Nathan closed his eyes, trying to control his rage. When he felt calm, he took a deep breath and opened his eyes, staring at the map before him.
He sent a mind link to all the warriors requesting they meet him in the war room.
When they had all gathered, he began
“Sorry for bringing you all here so late. We have found the location of the hunters; it's high time we confront them and put an end to their attacks once and for all. We can't let them threaten our pack and loved ones any longer. I know it's dangerous, and some of you may feel scared. But we're a strong pack, united by our bond. If anyone doesn't feel up to it, it's okay to stay behind. You won't be held accountable or punished”.
When no one made any move, he continued.
“We leave tomorrow at dawn. It’s a day's journey from here, so I suggest you carry supplies that will last you while on the trip. Any questions?”
When no one said anything, he dismissed them.
After everyone had left, Alpha Nathan stayed behind to review the map again to ensure he wasn’t missing any detail. When he was satisfied, he retired to bed, but he had this feeling that tomorrow would bring more than he bargained for.
