Chapter 14: CHAPTER 14

Chapter Fourteen

Sienna’s POV

~CELL, DARKMOON PACK~

The floor was so cold that it was draining the little warmness that I felt in my body system. My body hurts, each lash from the man earlier went deep into my skin, the sting not leaving my soul. The air in the cell smelled of sweat and blood—my blood.

I didn’t know how long I had been lying on this cold floor, drifting in and out of consciousness, my body too weak to move. Hunger awakes inside of me which makes my limbs feel even heavier.

My stomach let out a pitiful growl, the sound so loud but barely audible over my rough breathing . I curled into my half naked self, clutching my arms as if that could make the hunger go away.

But nothing could.

Nothing could take away this pain.

A single tear slipped from the corner of my eye, trailing down my cheek before vanishing into the ground.

I hadn’t eaten since I was thrown into this miserable place.

A memory flashed through my head, the last dinner with my father and Brandon.

We had sat together in the grand dining hall. My father, always so loving, had poured me a glass of wine, his lips curling into the warm smile he rarely showed to others. I thought he loved me

Brandon was there too, teasing me over my love for sweet pastries, his green eyes filled with amusement.

I had been safe. I had been loved.

And now… I was nothing.

A prisoner. A slave.

A sob built in my throat, and before I could stop it, I was crying out—loud, bitter wails that echoed through the empty cell.

I wanted to be strong.

I wanted to hold on.

But how could I, when every day brought nothing but suffering?

I was alone. Trapped. Helpless.

Was this truly my fate?

Suddenly, the atmosphere changed in the cell and there was warmth, replacing the cold. The air… charged, almost electric, as though something powerful had just entered.

A presence.

My breath stopped for a minute, my tears momentarily forgotten as I forced my aching body to lift my head.

And then I saw her.

She stood just a few feet away, her figure beautifully breathtaking.

Was that gibberish?. I don't care!

This isn't human.

Tall, graceful, otherworldly.

Her long white robe flowed around her, the fabric looked so soft and there wasn't any blemish on it. Her skin, rich and golden, glowed with an unnatural light, making her seem like she wasn’t truly of this world.

But it was her hair that captivated me most.

A stunning cascade of violet, flowing in thick waves down to her knees, the color looked so intense and captivating.

Her face was breathtaking—high cheekbones, full lips, and silver eyes that held an ancient wisdom.

I could only stare, my heart hammering against my ribs.

She was unlike anything I had ever seen. Was she even real?

I opened my mouth to speak, but before I could, she raised her hand.

Without a word, a tray of food appeared before me.

I flinched. My breath caught in my throat.

A wooden plate sat atop the tray, filled with warm, freshly baked bread, steaming stew, and slices of ripe fruit.

The rich aroma of the food filled my senses, making my stomach twist painfully.

This isn’t real. It can’t be real.

But the food was there, right in front of me.

And then she spoke.

“Eat.”

Her voice was deep and smooth, but it carried power like a force of nature, it was so calming yet commanding.

I hesitated.

“W-Who are you?” I croaked, my throat raw.

She didn’t answer. She only tilted her head, her silver eyes piercing through me like she could see my very soul.

Her silence wasn’t harsh. It was just so– so final.

She wouldn’t answer.

She had given me food. That was all.

My hunger won out over my wariness.

I lunged for the food, shoving the bread into my mouth. The moment it touched my tongue, a strangled sob escaped me.

God! This is real

I devoured everything, barely pausing to breathe.

The fruit was sweet, its juices dribbling down my chin. The water cooled my throat, washing away the dryness.

I had never been so grateful for anything in my life.

When the last bite was gone, I sat back, panting. The hunger in my belly had eased, though the ache in my soul remained.

Finally, I looked up at the woman.

Her silver eyes shining

“Eat well,” she said. “The pain isn’t going to end soon. Prepare yourself.”

A shiver ran through me.

She knew.

She knew what was happening to me.

“What do you mean?” I whispered. “Why—why are you helping me?”

Her expression remained unreadable. Then, she said something that made my blood run cold.

“This is your fate.”

I froze.

“No,” I whispered, shaking my head. “No, it can’t be. This can’t be my fate.”

She tilted her head slightly, observing me like a child who didn’t understand the way the world worked.

“Fate does not change because you wish it to,” she said simply. “You were born into this path. You must walk it.”

“No,” I choked out, my voice cracking. “This isn’t fair. I don’t deserve this.”

“Deserving has nothing to do with it,” she replied. “What has been written cannot be erased.”

Tears burned in my eyes. “Then why—why did you bring me food? Why help me if I’m just meant to suffer?”

For the first time, her expression softened.

“Because even in suffering, there is survival.”

A lump formed in my throat.

Was that what I had been reduced to? Just surviving?

Before I could ask her name before I could say anything she stepped back.

And in the blink of an eye, she was gone.

The tray, the plate,everything vanished.

I was left sitting in the dark. Alone.

The taste of food still lingered on my tongue, but my heart felt heavier than before.

This was my fate.

And no one, not even a deity could change it.
