Chapter 78 Chapter 78:
Chapter 78 Chapter 78:
Enrique:
The whole room feels so strange and my eyes are blurry as I try to peel them open, my temples start banging and all my body hurts. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.
“Enrique?” There’s a soft voice calling out to me, but it blends into the darkness, I try to sit up, hoping the headache will go away but a hand presses me down. “Oh goddess, you’re awake. Finally, Enrique, I have missed you so much.”
My wolf surges inside of me, giving me the strength that I need to open my eyes, I stare at everywhere, it’s different from my bedroom. Where am I? I catch a glimpse of ginger curly waves and the greenest of eyes and my heart starts pounding furiously.
‘Mate! Mate!’ my wolf screams inside of me but I continue staring.
“Irene?” I call out weakly and she holds my hand, her eyes brimming with tears. All of a sudden, everything rushes to me. The war, Anna, Dominic, everything. And how I died.
“What happened?” I ask, staring around the foreign room. “Am I in heaven?”
Irene laughs, shaking her head. “For goddess’ sake, Enrique, you aren’t dead. You just happen to be in a hospital. You’re alright; everyone has been worried sick about you.”
“Irene,” I grab her hands, staring into her eyes. “I’m terribly sorry for what all the things I said, I love you so fucking much and the thought of losing you will make me go crazy for real. I want you by my side; please don’t disappear on me again.” I pull her to my side, feeling her warmth. The moment she left, I felt so stupid and I hated myself. I can’t afford to lose Irene; she is the only one that truly understands me.
“I guess I shouldn’t have left like that, but I’m here now and I am not going anywhere.” Irene says. “Now quit touching me, you’re still healing.” She swats my hands again and I laugh. This is us together, and I love that part of us.
“I’m a primordial wolf, I already healed.” I say, kissing her on the lips. She kisses me back with the same passion. “I love your dress, by the way.” I murmur into her mouth. “Goddess, I missed your mouth.”
“Really?” She kisses me back, before pulling away, leaving my wolf restless. “Enrique, as much as we both want this, you still have to heal. Besides, you haven’t woken up in three weeks; everyone would be bursting to see you.”
Damn it, did I really fall into a coma or whatever for three whole weeks? It felt like yesterday when all of that happened.
“That bastard, Dante. Did he hurt you anywhere?” I ask Irene with concern, I swear, he’s going to pay for everything that he has done to my family and Irene.
“Dante got away.” Irene sighs, but I can see the hate building in her eyes when she mentions his name. “Gia is going to track him down pretty soon and then, we can get rid of him once and for all.”

Irene was right, the moment the doctor discharged me, my family and Irene’s family were all over me. My mother has made countless meals to eat even when my father told her to take it easy on me. I don’t think she agrees with that though.
Anna and I had a little chat together, she did receive a lot of scolding from me, but nevertheless, she is still my sister and I love her, it turns out. Our bond never even died.
Dominic comes in later when I am alone in my office, I know it may seem shitty to be working on the very first day you just got admitted and while Irene doesn’t seem to agree with it. It’s the least I can do to get the pack working especially since it didn’t have an Alpha for the past three weeks.
“Hey, Enrique. Glad to see you’re well now,” he says, but there’s literally no humour in his eyes. Irene informed me earlier that he donated his primordial blood to me, which is why I am alive.
“Thank you for saving me.” I point towards a seat, but he just smiles weakly and rejects it. “But I still want to punch you in the face though.”
“The feeling is mutual.” He smiles, I still don’t see the humour though. “I don’t have much time; I know you all dislike me.”
“Dislike you?” I almost scoff. “Damn it. We hate you but Gia is in love with you and she’s one of us, so we are going to try our best to actually like you, don’t let it get in your head though. If you hurt her and do anything that she doesn’t like, Tyler’s going to kill you and when you wake up, I am going to kill you again.”
“Roger that,” he chuckles lightly and I smile too, because well, it just feels good at this moment. “Gia wanted you to wake up so we postponed our flight, but we leave the moment you and I catch Dante and end that bastard.”
At least, we both share our hate for Dante. “He deserves to die and he will.” I say, “as soon as we get his location. So you’re going to make Gia your Luna?” If there’s one thing about Dominic, he’s literally obsessed with Gia and he would do absolutely anything for her, she deserves that.
“Yes.” His voice is firm. “You’re a good alpha, Enrique. Keep it up.”
“Like I needed to be told.” I chuckle and we both laugh. This feels so damn good, being back, now. We just have to end Dante once and for fucking all and finally live our life in peace, without ever having to worry about him.

Lucien:
I am standing on the balcony, staring at the full moon. Dominic already informed me earlier that we are going back to our pack as soon as we catch Dante in which Gia is already working on that with her amazing computer skills, of course.
“Hey, Red.” There’s a feminine voice behind me and I can’t help but smile. I turn and there she is, my queen, walking towards me in nothing but my sweatshirt and tights.
“You know what those do to me; I think I have told you a million times now.” I pull her by the waist, making her lean against the railing. “You look so fucking sexy right now, I want to devour you.” I plant my head between her neck, running trails of kisses through them. Rowena arches her head back and moans, almost making me go completely insane.
“Well, do you like it?” she asks, breathlessly staring at me with those full, plump red lips.
“And you’re wearing my sweatshirt again. My scent is all over you and damn, do I want everyone to know that you belong to only me.” My hand snakes up the sweatshirt and she bites her lips, keeping herself from moaning.
“I love you, Rowena. You are the sweetest thing that has ever happened to me.” I say huskily, kissing her neck. “And I won’t trade this feeling for anything in the world.” I’m right about that, ever since Rowena came into my life, things have just been different for me, in a good way. I have become a different man, and I am willing to stay this way just for her.
“I love you too, Red.” She says in between moans, the feeling that she’s my mate is getting stronger and stronger. Even dragons can feel the mate bond too, I’m pretty sure she’s feeling it because she parts her lips together while tilting her neck. “Mark me, Lucien. Mark me.”
“Are you sure?” I ask, holding her waist in a not harsh way. I really don’t know much about mate bond but Dominic already found his mate and it’s Gia and he tells me it’s fucking fantastic.
All I just want to do right now is claim her, body, mind and soul.
“Do it, Lucien.” She says and her scent- Goddess- her scent is wrapped around me like a blanket. It makes my wolf surge higher and higher. Our mate bond is getting stronger, my wolf paces inside of me, desperate to claim, to mark, to make her ours.
I bury my face in the curve of her neck and sink my growing canines into her neck.
She gasps, her finger digging into my neck as I mark her. The taste of her blood, laced with the bond’s magic makes me feel like I have never been more addictive.
“Shh, baby.” I say, holding her close. “It’s over now, it’s over.”
Her mark is a swollen spot, it will heal tomorrow morning. Rowena shakes her head. “That felt so fucking good.”
“Oh. Really.” She says, moving closer to me. “Thank you, thank you very much. Also, I spoke to my parents today.”
Suddenly, I am all ears. We haven’t talked about our relationship with her parents before and now I am shocked to find out that she has spoken to them already.
“You have to eat.” I murmur, brushing a strand of hair over her shoulder, fingers nudging the small of her back as I lead her towards the kitchen. She gives me that look again, the one that I have come to love. The look that makes my pulse stutters.
The lights above the kitchen island are warm, casting a glow on the marble flow. Lifting her effortlessly, I place her on the countertop, her thighs parts slightly as she adjusts and I have to bite back a growl.
“Stay here while I make dinner.” I say, and she nods. “You can tell me all about the discussion you had with your parents.”
I open the fridge, pulling out ingredients I am sure to need- steak, garlic, herbs. She likes pasta too, so I bring it out.
“Okay...so, I told them that I fell in love.” She looks up at me as I suddenly halt.
“Your parents want you to marry someone like Enrique.” The words are bitter as I let it out. “Your parents wouldn’t approve of me.” That’s the bitter truth.
“And I don’t care, I told them I was going to marry you.” Rowena hops off the counter and pads towards me, her hands wrapping around my waist while I chop the herbs. “If they couldn’t accept who I love, then they don’t deserve me.”
“You don’t have to do that for me.” My heart bleeds for this woman; she’s the first person in years, well after Dominic, who likes me for me and is willing to fight for me.
“I will do anything for you.” Rowena says, pressing a kiss on the side of my neck. “Anyways, after I told my parents about you. I gave them your name and they’ve probably researched and goggled about you. Seeing your net worth, they want us to come next week, so they can give us their blessings. Though, my father is demanding you marry me.” She chuckles.
“I would love to marry you.” I turn and hold her hand. “So you can wear my ring and carry my mark and carry my baby.” I say proudly, “I love you, Rowena. More than anything in the world.”
“I love you too.” She kisses me briefly on the lips, making my wolf and I hunger for more. “Now, let’s get back to cooking. Shall we? Before you burn the whole place down, do you even know how to cook?”
“I’ll let you know that I am an excellent chef.” I say, still smiling. She has brought out this part in me, the smiling, calm, always grateful part of me and I literally want it to stay like that.
I can’t afford to lose this woman.
