Chapter 33 Exposed
Eli's POV
Walker spat harshly. "That bastard! He actually dares to call and provoke us! Does he really think we won't kill him just because of his family?"
I leaned back in my chair and threw my phone onto the table. "No matter what he brings out, I'm going to kill him with my own hands!"
"But..." Inigo frowned tightly. "Gage isn't some reckless idiot. If he's calling, he probably really has something."
I sneered and lit a cigarette. "Nothing more than weapons intel or other business. Do those things outweigh a family member's life? I won't let Ivan die for nothing. Did you track his location just now?"
Inigo frowned, his hands constantly typing on the keyboard. "I'm still checking."
"Speed it up. Since he called me, it means we've cornered him tight. He must be very anxious." I said coldly.
Just as I finished speaking, my phone rang again.
I tapped the phone screen lightly with my gun, with no intention of answering.
Only after the phone rang until it automatically hung up did I furrow my brow slightly. "Is Gage really desperate? Knowing I'm not interested in his proposal, he still calls me?"
"Even better." Walker sneered. "When I catch that bastard, I'll kill him myself."
I originally thought Gage would give up after not getting through, but unexpectedly he kept calling like a madman, letting each call ring until it automatically hung up.
Inigo looked at my phone with some confusion. "Gage isn't someone with a good temper. Unless he really has something to say, he wouldn't be this persistent."
I nodded. "If he really had no way out, he should be trying everything to escape now, not wasting time making phone calls."
At Inigo's suggestion, I still answered the call.
As soon as I picked up, Gage's furious voice came through. "Are you sick? You won't even answer my calls."
I sneered. "Why should I waste energy answering a dead man's call? You better really have something to tell me."
Gage paused for a moment, then roared angrily. "Your fiancée is in my hands! If you don't want her to die, immediately withdraw all your people and let me leave!"
I almost laughed.
No matter how stupid Delilah was, she was still the princess of the Nelson family. Gage could barely escape himself. Where would he get the manpower to kidnap Delilah?
I was too lazy to listen to his nonsense and simply hung up.
But Inigo's expression didn't look good. He hesitated before speaking. "In this situation, Gage has no need to tell such an easily exposed lie."
I looked at him sharply. "You mean Delilah is really in his hands?"
Inigo nodded gravely and pushed my phone over. "You should answer his call first. I'll go confirm Delilah's situation."
Looking at the constantly ringing phone, I actually didn't want to answer.
Even if Delilah was really kidnapped, wasn't there still the Nelson family to save her? Besides, I was already tired of her. Even if something really happened, it couldn't be blamed on me.
Thinking of the cooperation between the Martinez family and the Nelson family, my face darkened. I reluctantly answered the call.
As soon as the call connected, Delilah's screaming came through. "Eli, I've been kidnapped by Gage! Come save me quickly! He abused me, I'm in so much pain!"
I looked up at Inigo. He nodded solemnly at me.
It seemed the person on the other end really was Delilah.
I helplessly rubbed my temples. How did this stupid woman end up in Gage's hands? Were all her bodyguards just taking salaries without working?
At this time, Inigo also walked over and whispered in my ear. "I just contacted the Nelson family. Delilah's driver suddenly betrayed them and kidnapped her. I'm afraid we have to find a way to save her."
I kicked the coffee table hard, wanting to drag Delilah through the phone.
We clearly had the upper hand, but this woman ruined everything.
Yet I still had to suppress my temper and comfort her. "Don't worry, your father, brother and I will definitely find a way."
"Woo woo woo, Eli you must come save me! Gage is inhuman! He actually dared to shoot me! You must kill him!" Delilah's unreasonable crying came through, making me even more impatient.
Did she have any brains? Telling me to kill him in front of Gage. Was she afraid Gage was treating her too well?
Sure enough, two loud slapping sounds came from the phone.
Delilah whimpered and cried. Gage said viciously. "Within one hour, you come find us alone, and you must prepare a boat at the eastern port for us to leave. Otherwise..."
He seemed to kick Delilah. Delilah screamed.
I hung up the phone irritably. "This stupid woman!"
If I let Gage go for her sake, then Ivan would have died for nothing, and the operation would completely fail.
But if I didn't care about her, I would definitely lose the Nelson family's support. Honestly, I didn't necessarily need the Nelsons' help, but I still didn't have evidence of their collusion with the Harris family.
The Harris family had been opposing us for years. In the past two years, the Martinez family had lost several business deals to the Harris family. I'd been investigating this for a long time and traced it to the Nelson family, but I still didn't have substantial evidence, so I couldn't break ties with them yet.
I grabbed the phone from the table and forwarded the address Gage sent me to Delilah's brother Jacob.
Since it was the Nelson family princess who was captured, they should put in some effort too, right?
"We'll take people to ambush Gage at the port." I put on my coat and quickly ordered. "If Jacob can't catch him, you kill him at the port."
Walker seriously agreed, and we drove to the port together.
Just as we got in the car, Gage sent me a video.
In the video, Delilah was cowering to the side with a bloodless face. Gage mercilessly grabbed her hair and looked at the camera. "One hour! If you don't get here, I'll strip her clothes and let our brothers fuck her to death!"
"Fuck!" Walker cursed. "Is that animal sick?"
But my brow furrowed immediately. I rewound the video with a dark face.
The moment Gage grabbed Delilah's hair, I saw a figure flash by behind them.
It was actually Genesis!
How was she kidnapped too!
My heart was extremely irritated. I shouted at Walker. "Stop the car!"
"What's wrong?" Walker and Inigo looked at me in confusion.
Genesis's panicked expression from the video kept flashing in my mind, and the anger in my heart almost reached its peak.
Damn little mute!
"I'm going to the factory." I said with a dark face.
