Chapter 63

"Elijah what do you want from me?" Uncle Kai shouted as we tied him to the chair. "I'm going to fail if I don't write my test today so please let me go. I promise I won't tell Benjamin."

"You should've thought about your test before thinking of betraying your own nephew. Uncle are you jealous because your dad who is my grandfather loves me more than you." I said it in his face.

"Adrian I'm your uncle so please untie me." Uncle Kai mumbled and Adrian started laughing.

"I'm loyal to my first cousin and by the way you are not my uncle. You see Elijah's father and my father's mothers are sister which makes us cousins and Elijah's father is your step brother because his grandfather thought of re-marrying. Do you understand now?"

"But your mother is my step sister too. Your mother is a Carson and I'm a Carson too Adri." Uncle kai replied.

"Listen Uncle, don't try to act smart with me. I'm your fucking nephew but you ruining my life. I know you are ten and I promised mom and dad I would never hit you but if you don't call the headmaster and tell her you have another punishment for us than I will let you go." I told him. “Now read this to the headmaster."

"You want me to lie when Benjamin and my parents told me not to." Uncle kai complained.

"Dad isn't here right now so please do it uncle before Adrian loses his temper and beat you up." Adrian called the office number and our headmaster answered. "Don't think of cheating us Uncle." I smiled at him and he started talking.

"This is Elijah's uncle speaking I hope I didn't disturb you ma'am. I would like to just say that Elijah is a good kid with talents. He is very talented that's why he makes so many mistakes in life but I'm telling you once you get to know him you will know that he is one of the greatest people born in the world he is the smartest in the Carson family and his heart is made of gold. And Adrian is my nephew too, I'm his mother's stepbrother but she treats me like a smaller brother. Adrian is just like his mother very nice and never does anything wrong. He also loves his cousin so much that's why he follow him everywhere. I know I suggested that you don't let them go to prom but honestly that was a mistake, you see Eli and Adri don't care about that. I just remembered that last week he was telling his father he doesn't want to go there but his father was forcing him that's why I think it was his idea to do something so he does not attend his farewell." He tried to stop him and I pointed at Adrian. "I have an idea ma'am. I think you should make them clean the whole school before their finals. I have to go now. I'm with my father goodnight." He discounted the phone. Adrian and I started laughing.

"Uncle Kai, I really thought you wouldn't say goodnight." Adrian said.

"Hey Adrian don't even think of calling my uncle stupid." I started to untie Uncle kai. "I know you hate me Uncle but I do love you. So please don't tell my father."

"Eli I know you older than me but you have no respect for me that's why I'll never like you. If I had a gun and you, Adrian and a snake were in this room. I would shoot you two." He shouted.

"We love you too Uncle Kai Levi Carson Black." We shouted as he left ****

I took my mother's diary out and as I was about to read I heard my father shouting my name. I should've known Uncle Kai would run to my father.

"Seriously Eli, you kidnapping your uncle now." Father shouted.

"It was a prank dad." I got up. "You know dad I'm older than him but everyone treats me like a kid."

"Eli please just stay away from my half-brother. My dad remarried and Thea—"

"If you going to call your stepmother Thea than how do you expect Elijah to call your baby brother Uncle." My mother said coming in my room.

"It was a mistake." Dad replied.

"Just like Elijah makes mistakes Benjamin. He is a teenager and your brother is ten but Elijah never once called him Kai. He always calls him Uncle so please just forgive him for kidnapping your brother. Don't ground him Benjamin, I want my son to go to his farewell." My mother explained.

"This is the last time you make a mistake Elijah. I swear if you burn a place again or threaten any family member I'll lock you up. You won't ever leave this house again." My dad said.

"Then I'll burn our house." I mumbled.

"What?" Dad asked shocked.

"His joking Benjamin. Elijah isn't capable of doing anything wrong. I'm sure he just takes the blames for everyone." My mother and dad both left and I locked my door after that.

At least now I can read mom's diary.

I started to scan the book from the last page. I carried on scanning every page until I got to my uncle. Uncle Jailson's accident was caused by Aunt Charlotte but no one told us anything about this.

I started reading more about the accident. Not once did mom say anything about uncle being died, that means mom knows my uncle is alive and my father knows nothing. I hope this doesn't ruin their marriage.

I carried on reading but there was nothing interesting. I had an Uncle called Alejandrino who kidnapped my mother but was later killed by Uncle Jailson.

I don't know why mommy writes about every single thing. Mom should have thought of making it easy for me to read her diary.

I read about Carlene who was my father’s ex-wife that uncle Jay killed and so many more boring stories.

I carried on paging until I saw a letter written for my grandfather.

I opened the letter and started reading.

' Dad, it's me again. Your Sofia, the girl you left at nine years. I don't blame you for anything because I know you love me and my baby sisters and you would have never left us if it was up to you. The day you died mum died too she never cared about us, then Uncle Martin came in our lives he started to do everything a father would do for his children but I never trusted him, I always hated him. Dad he ruined my life and I hate him so much.'

I put the letter away and started to read the diary from the front. I'm sure I will know about this Martin.

I started reading about my mother's past and I couldn't believe it. Martin Carson Black was her stepfather. This means mom and dad met through him.

I continued reading and my eyes couldn't believe it. I blinked a million times but the words didn't change. My mother couldn't have been—No she was never. I don't believe it. My mother Sofia could have never been raped.

Sofia's POV.

"Benjamin do you know what I love most about you?" I asked massaging his head.

"S—" I pulled his hair. "Fine, tell me."

"Your dimples, I always wanted to marry a man with dimples but too bad only Oliver and Emily have dimples and not Elijah." I continued massaging his head. "Benjamin you have been stress lately did something happened?"

"I met Henry and he threatened to kill Elijah. But you know Elijah is irresponsible, he doesn't care about his safety."

"What did Anna's father say?" I questioned.

"Well he said the day Annette graduates, Elijah's countdown begins. Sofia I told you I don't trust Annette because she's his granddaughter and now I'm actually thinking of killing her before she kills Elijah."

"You won't kill Annette. Henry is just bluffing Benjamin. Annette loves my son a lot and—"

"What do you mean she loves Elijah?" He questioned angry and I kissed his forehead.

"Annette is like a daughter to me Benjamin and if you touch her I swear I'll kill you. I'm not even joking." He started laughing at my words. "Get off my lap."

"I'm sorry." He smiled at me. "By the way Sofia, Elijah is smarter than we think. He will find out that Jailson died in an accident. I still don't know why you and Jay thought it would be a good idea if we all act like he never existed. Elijah is going crazy over this." A tear dropped my eye. How can I tell Benjamin that his brother never died and is punishing us. I wish I could tell him but Jailson made it clear he will die if I tell anyone. Why did he have to tell me he is alive? "Don't cry Sofia. I know you missed him a lot but please don't cry. I can't see you hurt, you know that."

"I'm not crying Benjamin. I was just thinking if anything happened between us would you leave me?" I questioned wiping my tears.

"No matter what Sofia, I'll always be yours. You are stuck with me forever even if you don't want to be with me." He replied and I giggled. "Now can we talk about the fact you used three million dollars for just two months. I know whatever is mine is yours but what did you do with it."

"It was for Elijah's prom and his birthday party. Benjamin everything is expensive now a days." I mumbled. There is no way I can tell him I have been hiring private investigators and I paid so many doctors to tell me if they did a plastic surgery for Jailson. I can't let this small secret destroy my marriage, I'll have to make sure he doesn't find out anything.

"But Elijah didn't even have a big birthday party and for his farewell he took money from me. I don't know what we will do about Elijah because he thinks money grows on trees. Sofia do you know that Elijah told his teachers he will pay for everything, such a show off kid you gave birth to." I hit him on the head.

"That is my son you talking about Benjamin so unless you want to sleep on the couch for a year don't say anything about my baby."

"I don't know what Anna used to feed you when you were pregnant but Elijah is different compared to Oliver and Emily." He said.

"Elijah is sweet Benjamin and Oliver is short tempered like you. By the way why didn't you let me meet Alison too. I wanted to talk to her." I pulled his hair.

"It hurts." He complained. "I didn't think of that Sofia. If you were around I swear I would've introduce you to Alison."

"She's nothing like you. She's sweet, cute and amazing unlike you. You too ugly to be Alison's father." I teased him.

"Emily is also beautiful unlike you." He replied and I opened my mouth in shock.

"How could you betray me like this Benjamin. You always said I'll be beautiful no matter what." I acted sad. Before he could say anything Elijah came in our room and ran to me. "What's wrong?" Benjamin got up and Elijah hugged me crying. "What's wrong baby? Did you have a nightmare?"

"You are forgetting Elijah always says he loves nightmares and hates sweet dreams." Benjamin replied but Elijah wouldn't stop crying.

"Shut up." I shouted at Benjamin. "Baby, what's wrong with you? Why are you crying? Please talk to me Eli." I have never seen Elijah cry so much.

"I'm sorry mommy." He mumbled crying.

"Baby, no matter what you do and what people say about you. I will always love you now please stop crying." He continued crying. I can never see my children cry especially Elijah. He has cried enough when he was a kid. I couldn't let him meet his father then but why is he crying now?

"Eli." I whispered but he was fast asleep. I got up slowly making sure I didn't wake him up. "Something is wrong with my baby, Benjamin. Do you think someone threatened him?"

"I don't know why he is crying Sofia but I can promise you Elijah would never cry if someone threatened him. He doesn't care about dying." Benjamin replied.

"I know." I started crying. "But I can't see my baby cry Benjamin. I can tolerate everything but not Elijah crying. Elijah crying brings back to many bad memories."

"Don't cry Sofia." Benjamin wiped my tears. "Elijah will tell us what's wrong with him tomorrow." He hugged me.
