50. What It Takes For A Heart To Break
“H-how exercising i-is done in a billionaire’s world??”
What did he even mean by that?
Was he trying to once again, show off?
“Stop the car, right now.”
I seethed to the chauffeur, folding my arms.
I could feel my temper slowly rising. The reason I had gone jogging, was to clear my head.
And now, being around him was enough to install fury in them once more.
“Keep going,” Liam directed in a dominating tune.
I sighed.
Off course. What did I expect? He was the boss.
“So, you’re literally taking me against my will? This is kidnapping!”
I yelled at the top of my guts, feeling insanely helpless.
“Is that what you’d prefer to call it, red?” he smirked.
My eyes, startled, looked inside his mesmerizing green orb ones. They seemed somewhat confident.
Damn.
How could I have forgotten?
He appeared so confident after our last encounter.
The bar incident… when I had spilled my secrets of liking him?
“Let’s make it more of mouth napping then,”
My eyes widened as he grasped the back of my forehead, pulling me in a kiss.
A tsunami.
Compilation of various kinds of emotions, shambling and mixing along. Putting me on cloud nine, hoping it never ended. That was what the kiss felt like the minute I started kissing him back.
In a way, I couldn’t believe this infuriating billionaire was working his lips with mine. But I knew I loved it. I wanted it…
I untangled my lips from his.
Not yet.
“Is everything alright, red?” he asked.
Confusion was plastered on his expression. I knew I was complicated and I didn’t blame him.
We were kissing quite alright and I reacted this way, like I didn’t want it too.
I slowly cleared my voice, nodding my head.
“Yeah…l-let’s just go exercising,” I said, in a shaky and unsteady tone.
I sank into the car seat, arching my back in relaxation.
I was trying to resist my eyes from widening in bewilderment.
Look who was reluctant a few minutes ago...
…
Liam was right.
In a way, how the rich people exercised was quite different from a typical middle-class lifestyle.
While we did things according to budget, billionaire’s didn’t even make it seem like they did.
For a dirty business like shedding some sweat, they made it seem so glamorous.
Introducing various gadgets and equipment. It was like they had different ways of doing it, and even included games in it.
Because Liam drove me down to a wide area or sea green land, nearly managed with trimmed grasses.
“It’s done, like this,” The golf director expressed.
Just down the area, a golf arena was situated. It was pricey but Liam took care of it.
After I swore to pay it back off course.
“Set your target, prepare and go for it,”
He shot a ball, next handed the golf stick to Liam. I watched as Boss Liam shot the ball, a couple number of times smoothly.
It was like he was used to the entire thing and didn’t even miss. That earned numerous claps from the people who managed the place.
“My turn,” I muttered, nervously, holding the golf stick sword likely.
Liam showed up, right behind me guiding me on how it’s done. But all through when he did that, I was distracted by his pleasant cologne and the way his body brushed mine.
“Like this,” he said.
But my head wasn’t focused on any of those. I was wondering how it was going to feel like in a four-poster bed.
Or a Queen-sized perhaps?
Thus, I made no progress at all in the games.
He ended up carrying me away from the scene, after I became so much persistent to shoot the ball at all costs.
“Put me down, this instant!” I yelled.
But it was no use.
He didn’t even bulge, in spite of my numerous attempts to come down.
…
The next recreational order of the day was horse riding. This was kinda different because I had no idea of how a horse was being ridden.
“Bad idea, what if I fall off and die?” I cringed.
The manager laughed, telling me I had a guide and that the horse was a gentle one.
Liam rode so well, making me gawk so hard. It was like the movies.
When the male lead rode well, and your little head put it in a slow mo. Sunshine seeping on his perfect body, like a modern day prince of Persia.
Or of Greek?
“This horse is as feisty as you, red.”
He said, the minute he got down from his horse.
I was left speechless when he got on mine, to assist me.
All through the moment he rode, his body synched with mine. It was a welcoming feeling, of being of top of the world, doing what made you nervous.
At every pattern of his movement, an arousing feeling surged through my core.
As we got down, I was thankful I made it.
And didn’t do anything stupid, at least.
Food was the next thing. Staring at the tuna and numerous beefs, with chicken and vegetables made me so hungry.
As it was being cut and prepared, I unknowingly salivated which was embarrassing.
Although, we started eating soon after, forgetting that even happened.
“Work for me, red.”
I choked out the food I was currently eating.
“Excuse me?”
I asked.
“Since you currently have no job, I’m offering you be my personal assistant.”
“Huh? Just like that?”
He smiled.
“Yeah, just like that.”
“I-It’s...I mean you don’t even have my work and experience details. Why are you giving me this position?”
This time it was a smirk.
“I want to see you 24/7, red. Every time,”
“I was once your boss, remember? I have every detail of your job experience and I think you’re good enough for this position.” he added.
“Okay.” I surprisingly said, without arguing.
He was surprised because I was the one who argued till the end.
It was all because I was thinking of mum.
She needed her drugs and being jobless was the least thing, I wanted now.
Just as the car halted, we got down. It was parked right in front of our old, rickety house.
I noticed the expression on Liam’s face and his demeanor.
“The anklet, you took it off?” he suddenly asked.
My brows arched in confusion.
“No…it’s right here,”
I pointed to my ankles but sighted nothing.
I checked the other led, still nothing. The next thing I found myself doing was searching the entire car.
“I-It must have dropped while we golfed, I’ll go back to look for it,”
As I moved to go, he held me back.
“L-Liam?”
“You keep doing this red, whenever I try to get closer to you, you push me away,”
I watched as he walked past me, hands in pocket with a frown on his face.
My heart froze.
