Chapter 74 Waiting for a Lawsuit!
Chapter 74 Waiting for a Lawsuit!
Sophia furrowed her brow.
Her hand, hanging by her side, slowly clenched into a fist. This guy clearly didn't think much of Jade Haven.
Ronnie looked up at Sophia.
"Did I say something wrong? Jade Haven? Just another small-time operation, never heard of it."
With each word, Sophia's frown deepened.
This so-called star really needed a lesson.
Determined, she grabbed the product and turned to leave.
"Ms. Morgan, it seems we aren't destined to work together. Your company's star is nothing but a disrespectful brute, and having him wear our jewelry would only tarnish Jade Haven's name."
In a few words, she completely belittled Ronnie.
He threw his phone onto the couch, stood up, and glared at Sophia's back with fury.
Pointing at her, he shouted angrily, "What did you say?!"
Sophia smirked, turning around to meet his gaze with fearless eyes.
Despite her frail and petite frame, her face showed a maturity and calmness beyond her years.
Her sharp gaze made Ronnie shrink back a bit.
"What, did I say something wrong?"
Sophia paused, her lips curling into a mocking smile.
Her cold eyes reflected Ronnie's enraged figure.
"A person who doesn't respect others expects to be liked by fans? If your fans knew what kind of person you really are, they'd probably curse you until you couldn't take it and jumped off a building."
Her calm tone was unsettling.
The surrounding staff widened their eyes, their hearts in their throats.
Everyone knew this was Ronnie's sore spot.
Daphne, sensing the tension, tried to intervene but was too slow.
"I think you're asking for it!"
Ronnie's forehead veins bulged as he raised his fist, aiming for Sophia's face.
His punch was full of force!
Sophia stood her ground, showing no sign of fear.
Seeing her unwavering stance, Ronnie hesitated. Was she really not afraid of pain? Was she planning to take the punch head-on?
Suddenly, a figure rushed into his view. Before he could react, a fist landed squarely on his abdomen, effortlessly knocking the wind out of him.
Isla's punch could make even a bull step back three paces.
The pain radiated through Ronnie's body, leaving him dazed.
He curled up on the floor, clutching his abdomen and coughing.
High heels approached, and Ronnie gritted his teeth, slowly raising his head to see the shoes.
His gaze moved upward, and Sophia's face came into focus.
Her eyes looked down at him as if he were trash.
"A person who doesn't respect others expects to be respected in return? Is that your theory, Ronnie?"
Her tone was flat, emotionless.
The people around finally snapped out of their shock and rushed to check on Ronnie's condition.
"What happened?! Call an ambulance, call an ambulance!"
"Is his face okay? Is his face hurt?"
"What are you trying to do? This is practically attempted murder! We're going to sue you!"
The makeup room descended into chaos.
Daphne, unlike the others, looked at Sophia with admiration. If someone like her were to enter the entertainment industry, she could definitely shake up the market!
"I'm fine, I'm fine."
Ronnie's pale face slowly regained its color as the people around him helped him to his feet. His gaze fell on Isla, fearfully eyeing her fist, his body trembling with fear.
Who exactly was Isla? That punch nearly sent him packing.
He pushed the thought aside, looking up at Sophia.
"I was out of line earlier and tried to act violently towards a lady. I apologize."
His words shocked everyone.
Was this the same arrogant superstar Ronnie?
"Let's discuss the rest later. I appreciate that you avoided hitting my face with your punch. You could have easily done so, but you didn't. I thank you for that."
Isla stood quietly beside Sophia, her mind racing.
Did he get brain damage from the punch? Or was he hiding something sinister?
She kept her lips tightly shut.
"Jade Haven, right? I'll wear it. There's something I want to discuss after the red carpet event."
Everyone looked at the clock on the wall. It was already 6:45 PM.
Only five minutes left before heading to the red carpet.
It was a great opportunity to showcase their products, and Sophia wouldn't miss it.
"Mr. Ford, please cherish our Jade Haven jewelry. Each piece is a precious creation."
Sophia's stance was clear. If Ronnie disrespected them again, no matter how big a star he was, she'd walk out.
Maybe Isla's punch was too heavy, or maybe it knocked some sense into him, but now he was cooperating.
"Alright."
Ronnie replied briefly, putting on the bracelet.
The staff hurriedly adjusted his clothes, preparing everything for the red carpet.
Sophia and Isla followed closely behind, whispering to each other.
"Isla, was your punch too hard?"
"Ms. Brown, I don't know."
Maybe Ronnie deserved it.
As the door opened, a wave of cheers hit them.
The inner area had fewer fans, with banners keeping them outside.
Sophia put on her mask, following Ronnie, while Isla stayed close to her side, ready for any unexpected situations.
"Ronnie! Take care of yourself, Ronnie!"
Hearing the fans' calls, Ronnie's mood shifted, his face lighting up with joy.
He raised his arms, greeting the fans enthusiastically. Seeing this, Sophia wondered if he had a split personality.
Indeed, being a star wasn't for everyone. The ability to change faces was impressive.
Suddenly, a familiar figure caught her eye. Sophia stopped, looking ahead, but the figure quickly disappeared.
Strange, that person looked so familiar. Was she mistaken?
"Ms. Brown, what's wrong?"
"Nothing, let's keep going."
A crowd gathered at the destination, waiting. Fireworks went off, and music played.
"Welcome to the red carpet event. Now, let's welcome..."
The rest was just formalities, which Sophia didn't care about. Her focus was on the photographers and the enthusiastic fans in the scene.
A star could generate significant traffic, and the media's reach was wider than expected.
Maybe...
